Independence David was hooked, first perusing rare and unique autographs and memorabilia as

BIDDING
This is an internet, mail, fax and phone auction. The final day of
bidding for all lots is February 7th, 2013. In order to be eligible
to bid on a lot during the Extended Bidding Period that begins
at 8:00PM EST on,(the final day), you must have placed a bid
on that lot before 8:00PM EST (5:00PST), If only one bid at or
above the Minimum Bid has been made on a lot when the Initial
Bidding Period ends, that bidder will be declared the winner
of the lot at the end of the auction. For any lot that has two or
more bidders, bidding will remain open until 30 minutes pass
without a bid being placed on that INDIVIDUAL LOT. Lots will end
at different times depending upon bid activity. PLEASE NOTE: If
web server problem, One Of A Kind Collectibles Auctions, at its
sole discretion, reserves the right to extend the bidding, or reset
the 30 minute timer, on any item at any time.
BID NOTIFICATIONS VIA EMAIL
Upon placing a successful bid making you the high bidder, you
will receive an email notification confirming that you are current
high bidder on that lot. If and when you are outbid on that lot,
you will receive a new email notifying you that you have been
outbid. In the event that you place a bid but are immediately
outbid by another bidder’s Maximum Bid, you will be notified
instantly on the computer screen that you have been outbid
and will not receive an email notification.

Each lot in the auction has a Minimum Bid (designated in the
printed catalogue and online as “MB”). When bidding, you will
be able to view the current high bid for each lot. When you
want to bid, you will click through to the individual lot page.
There you will be able to view a pull-down menu of incremental
bid amounts. You will have the option of selecting the next
incremental bid (the lowest amount that the pulldown menu
displays) or any bid higher than the next incremental bid
(a Maximum Bid). If you select a Maximum Bid, the auction
program will bid incrementally on your behalf one bid at a time
up to but not exceeding your “maximum” bid amount with the
intention of winning the item at the lowest possible price. Bid
increments are below. In the event that two or more bidders
place the same Maximum Bid, then the earliest received bid will
be recognized as the successful high bid Auction increments:

SHIPPING
We ship via FedEx & USPS upon clearance of payment. Shipping
includes expedited air shipping and insurance with signature
confirmation. You will be notified of all shipping charges upon
confirmation of your winning bid.
PAYMENT
There is an 18% buyer’s premium payable on top of the hammer
price. This amount will be added to the winning bid. Payment
ethods accepted include personal and cashier’s checks, and
wire transfers. We do not accept credit cards. All payment
must be made in U.S. dollars. FL sales tax of 7.00% is charged
as applicable. Full payment is due within 14 days of the ending
auction date unless an exception is made in writing.
Late payments have a 2.5% fee per month added to them.

FULL GEORGE WASHINGTON SIGNATURE ALONG WITH SWATCH OF HIS COAT
AND HIS HAIR
A framed 14.75x 15.25 inch display featuring an autograph of George Washington, a square piece
of Washington’s coat and a lock of approximately six strands of Washington’s hair. The items are
attractively framed with an engraved metal plaque and a 4.5 x 6.5 inch reproduction of a Gilbert
Stuart portrait of Washington. Washington’s signature is featured on a partial document which was
originally part of a large March 17 1769 indenture between George Washington and Robert Thompson.
The location of this signature has been identified on a lifesize color reproduction of the 21” x 17”
original document from which the fragment was excised, which is included in this lot. A certification of
authenticity from noted American dealer and collector Charles Hamilton is included

2: THOMAS JEFFERSON HANDWRITTEN AND SIGNED LETTER
A compassionate Jefferson sends $400 for the wives of Italian sculptors Michele
and Giacomo Raggi to join their husbands in America as they carved the Ionic
and Corinthian capitals on the columns of the Rotunda of the University of Virginia.
Autograph Letter Signed “Th: Jefferson,” one page, 7.75” x 3.75”. Monticello,
February 15, 1820. To John Vaughan. Light toning at perimeter and light showthrough of docketing on verso. Darkly penned and signed by Jefferson. Fine
condition.

Thomas Jefferson and James Madison signed Ships papers.Partly-printed DS as president, signed “Th:

Ship’s papers which is in mint condition still unissued and not
cut on top like most. Tastefully matted and framed with an oval
portrait of both Jefferson and Madison. . intersecting folds, some
light skipping to signature, fine condition. The white paper seal is

Own letters not only held and read by Washington but also with his writing dated
1781! Two late 18th-century letters to ‘His Excellency General Washington’. (1) First is
handwritten 9”x7” letter dated ‘Philad(elphia) Aug. 1st, 1782’ signed ‘Smith, Clarkson’
(2) Four 7”x3” panels of 1781 handwritten letter from John Mercer to ‘His Excellency
General Washington’ requesting repayment of loan made to further the purposes
of the revolution, docketed ‘John Mercer 20th Mar. 1781’ in Washington’s hand.
Yellowed paper with burned edges & other minor damage, still
quite readable. Interesting lot.

immigrated to America “in the hope of enjoying more rights of religious & civil liberty denied him” in

MARSHALL APPOINTMENT
John Quincy Adams (6th US President, 1825 - 1829), then Secretary of State, signed letter dated
22 March 1821 addressed to Jeremiah Sprague, Deputy Marshall of Boston, MA regarding the
appointment of Col. Samuel D. Harris as Marshal of the United States and Massachusetts. The letter
contains the broken seal. The framed letter is signedOther than folds and the original tearing of
the wax seal, paper browned slightly due to age, the document is in very good condition.

10: JAMES BUCHANAN SIGNED SHIPS PAPERS WITH NICE
SIGNATURE
James Buchanan 15th president, Partly printed signed Ships passport document as
president. Also signed by Secretary of State, Lew Cass This uncommon document was
never filled out other than the bold signature in fine condition.

11: ABRAHAM LINCOLN SIGNED COMMISSION
Abraham Lincoln our 13th president. War-Dated vellum DS as president, one page, 15.75 x 19.5, April 1,
1864. Lincoln appoints John P. Macey a “Second Lieutenant in the tenth regiment of Infantry.” Signed
at the conclusion by Lincoln and countersigned by Secretary of War Edwin Stanton. In very good
condition, with intersecting folds, with one horizontal fold directly under Lincoln’s signature, scattered
toning and foxing, a bit lightly affecting Lincoln’s signature, and a few scattered wrinkles, and a crease
to lower left corner. The dark blue seal is intact, with a horizontal fold through lower portion. The 10th
Regiment participated in more than a dozen fights, including the Battle of Gettysburg. Macy, whose
name has been misspelled on this appointment, enlisted as a private in 1858, survived the
Civil War and eventually resigned in 1868 as a captain

12: ANDREW JOHNSON
Autographed during impeachment proceedings for Chinese consulate: President and Vice President.
Partly printed 14” x 20” document signed as President. Oblong folio. Washington, D.C. April 25, 1868.
Countersigned by William Seward, Secretary of State. large white embossed seal of the United States
affixed to the lower left of the document. President Johnson appoints C.F. Preston to be Interpreter of
the Chinese Language at the Consulate of the United States at Canton. Somewhat split in the folds
but strengthened on verso with acid free preservation tape,also portrait is affixed to upper right of
document.There are some toning issues in document as well. The Impeachment proceedings were
held from March 13, 1868 to May 26, 1868. Out of 54 members of the Senate 35 voted for coviction.
Johnson was acquitted by one vote. Anything signed by President Johnson during this period is very
scarce and desirable.

A nice bold signature of Andrew Johnson our 17th president who took over
after the assination of Abraham Lincoln. Johnson was the first president to be
drawn up on impeachment charges and as acquitted by the U.S. Senate by one
vote.Also included is an original period CDV photo of Johnson.

14: U.S. GRANT SIGNED NAVAL
APPOINTMENT
Great looking naval Appointment for a Willim H. Brice as an
lieutenant in the Navy with vignettes on bottom. Brice starts as
a mate in 1861 during the civil war and continued until 1874.
Appointment is dated March 21,1870 signed by U.S.Grant as
president and countersigned by George Robeson the secretary
of the navy. Grant’s signature is a couple shades light but still
visible.

Cabinet Card photograph signed by Rutherford B. Hayes (19th US President) Signed in full
rather than the more common “R.B. Hayes”. Photo Overall in very good condition. Signed
photos of Hayes are scarce and this size and quality are even rarer.

16: MILLARD FILLMORE RARE SIGNED BOOKK
William Henry Sewards memorial book by charles Francis Adams signed inside
on title page by president Millard Fillmore. Nice dark signature and uncommon
book. William Henry Seward, was the 12th Governor of New York, United States
Senator and the United States Secretary of State under Abraham Lincoln
and Andrew Johnson. On the night of Lincoln’s assassination, he survived an
attempt on his own life. As Johnson’s Secretary of State, he engineered the
1867 purchase of Alaska from Russia in an act that was ridiculed at the time as
“Seward’s Folly”. His contemporary Carl Schurz described Seward as “one of
those spirits who sometimes will go ahead of public opinion instead of tamely
following its footprints.

Great signature by this 23rd President of the United States. The Fletcher and Sharpe’s Bank
check is filled out and signed in June 1883 by Harrison, to “self” signed “Benj. Harrison,” and
measures 7 x 2.75. In very good condition, with vertical folds and a single cancellation cut, and
revenue stamp attached. Fine dark signature

18: GROVER CLEVELAND SHERIFF !
Rare Autograph Document Signed when Cleveland was just 35 years old and in the capacity as Sheriff,
signed after long handwritten letter explaining document by Cleveland, “Grover Cleveland / Sheriff of
Erie Co.,” one page, 15” x 9”. On Superior Court Of Buffalo document. this document is reference to
the list of jurors at a criminal term of the Superior Court of Buffalo on April 6th, 1872. The list does show
who showed personally or was not found next to their names. Light soiling. Very good
condition. Grover Cleveland served as Sheriff of Erie County from 1871-1873. He earned
a reputation for fearlessness and incorruptibility and made sure that in his legal letter.
Cleveland personally sprang the trap on two murderers, one convicted of stabbing his
mother to death, the other of shooting a man over a card game.

and postmarked Executive Mansion envelope, slit open at top, soiled on verso, addressed by Cleveland to “Herbert
Radclyffe Esq. / (Boston Daily Advertiser) / Boston / Massachusetts / Personal.” In full, “Your letter of the 10th is received.
I hope you will never be prevented from giving me your time through any fear of ‘being considered intrusive.’ Thanking
you for the interests of which your letter is an evidence…”

ROOSEVELT DS AS CAPTAIN OF
20: THEODORE
POLICE IN 1883
This is a very rare signed 1883 document from Theodore Roosevelt. The condition
does have some issues it has been attched to an album page does have some
chipping and small tears on some of the edges. This early Roosevelt signed
document as Captain of the New York National Guard for a Charles W. Wilson
who just enlisted. have not seen this type of document come to market before.

Vintage matte-finish 9 x 13 photo (affixed to a 10.5 x 14 mount) of artist Joseph DeCamps’
1908 full-length portrait of Roosevelt, signed in the lower border in fountain pen by Roosevelt.
Printing along bottom of image reads, “Copyright 1909 by Joseph DeCamp.” Photo also bears
DeCamp’s signature and a date of 1908, inherent to the original work and reproduced in the
photo. Does have some condition isuues, with slight staining and some small scratches in the
photo, signature is a little light, but a great pose from this popular president.

22: THEODORE ROOSEVELT AUTOGRAPHED LINCOLN MONUMENT-UNVEILING
Original ceremony program signed by Roosevelt from the day of the unveiling
of this famous seated Lincoln monument. The bronze statue of a seated Lincoln
was made by Gutzon Borglum the sculpture who later did Mount Rushmore.
the Lincoln statue which is an historical landmark was dedicated by President
Theodore Roosevelt on Memorial day in 1911. Borglum’s creation was different
than any other Lincoln statue that was made at the time, he made him on a
bench where he is accessible to all of the people and not out of touch with
every American, it is located next to the Essex County Courthouse in Newark,
New Jersey. Size 5’x7” in good condition, nice large signature, some very minor
soiling and a few brown marks above and below text on program but does not
affect signature or image, comes with original transmittal envelope.

Public for the District of Columbia for a term of five years. A very clean and fresh document. Very few
{Presidential appointments for women have appeared on the market}

HOOVER, Herbert. President of the U.S. Document
signed, one page, folio 23”X19”, Washington,
Dec.16, 1930. Partly printed document appointing
J. Butler Wright to the Office of Envoy Extraordinary
and Minister Plenipotentiary to Uruguay. Fine
clean signature of Hoover and counter-signed by
Secretary of State Henry L. Stimson. Hugh Presidential
wafer seal affixed to bottom left. Up through President Kennedy Hoover is the scarcest
in signed Presidential documents. Many collections settle for a document with a printed
signature. More Kennedy signed documents have appeared on the market in the last
several years than Hoovers. More Hoover A.L.S.’s have appeared on the market than

House – June 6, 1944 / here printed for his friends at Christ- / mastide 1944,” 7” x 10”. With original slipcase. On colophon page following the text: “One hundred
copies of this book have been printed for / President Franklin D. Roosevelt / at the U.S. Government Printing Office at Washington / December Nineteen
hundred and forty-four / This copy is number”– Roosevelt has penned “37.” Half vellum over marbled boards. The inscribee’s name was apparently, and for
reasons not known to us, a secret. It has been virtually imperceptibly removed by an expert leaving a superior uninscribed example. The President, a noted
book collector himself, gave this book to selected friends and relatives at Christmas. It would be his last Christmas as President; he died less than four months
later. Printed on four pages, plus the title page, in Gothic type with initials in red and blue. The June 6, 1944 edition of “The Christian Science Monitor” reported
that President Roosevelt wrote this prayer “in his study during the night as the news of the invasion began to reach the White House.” In full, printed in blue ink,
“The President’s D-Day Prayer. Last night when I spoke with you about the fall of Rome, I knew at that moment that troops of the United States and our Allies
were crossing the Channel in another and greater operation. It has come to pass with success thus far.” Continuing in black ink. “And so, in this poignant hour,
I ask you to join me in prayer: “Almighty God: our sons, pride of our Nation, this day have set upon a mighty endeavor, a struggle to preserve our Republic, our
religion, and our civilization, and to set free a suffering humanity. Lead them straight and true; give strength to their arms, stoutness to their hearts, steadfastness
in their faith. They will need Thy blessings. Their road will be long and hard. For the enemy is strong. He may hurl back our forces. Success may not come with
rushing speed, but we shall return again and again; and we know that by Thy grace, and by the righteousness of our cause, our sons will triumph. They will be
sore tired, by night and by day, without rest – until the victory is won. The darkness will be rent by noise and flame. Men’s souls will be shaken with the violences

This incredible Truman Portrait is an original Charcoal study that Frank O. Salisbury did of President Truman in 1946. This is the original study used by Salisbury
to create an Oil Painting of Truman the same year with identical pose. In the top left of the portrait Salisbury wrote “Study for Portrait of President Truman
Washington 1946”. The finished oil painting resided in the Truman museum in Indiana until 2009 when President Obama selected it and took on loan to hang
in the White House Cabinet room. In May 2009, President Barack Obama added a portrait of President Harry S. Truman by Frank O. Salisbury, lent by the
Truman Library, to join existing portraits of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Theodore Roosevelt. Size is 26” x 31” Great condition. Salisbury also did
a portrait of Franklin Roosevelt which is the official White House Portrait of Roosevelt to this day.

34:HARRY TRUMAN WW2 CERTIFICATE OF MERIT
DS as president, one page, 11 x 10.25, March 1, 1948. Certificate of Merit presented to Henri Gaston Busignes “for
outstanding fidelity and meritorious conduct in aid of the war effort against the common enemies of the United
States and its allies in World War 11.” Accompanied by a photocopied letter sent to Truman in 1948, listing Busignes
as one of 130 certificate of merit recipients from the Office of Scientific Research and Development. Affixed to an
identical size board and in fine condition, with a uniform block of overall toning from previous display. Busignes
helped develop a system that allowed the US Navy to detect enemy transmissions, such as those from German
U-boats, that otherwise were out of range. During WWII, U-boats wreaked havoc against military and merchant
vessels. The advancement aided in the Allied war effort at sea. A desirable document, presented to a man whose
efforts unquestionably helped shorten the war.

very good condition. After resigning from the position in 1785 due to failing health, Hancock was reelected
governor of Massachusetts in 1787, the position he would hold for the remainder of his life. In 1791, recently
elected president George Washington was making a concerted effort to advance the new nation’s agricultural and industrial growth: realizing that not only
was it a crop well-suited to the climate, but also that its use in industry could be vast, he encouraged the growth of hemp, imposing duties on its import to
promote domestic production. In a letter to Alexander Hamilton four months later, Washington wrote, “would there be propriety ... in suggesting the policy of
encouraging the growth of Cotton, and Hemp in such parts of the United States as are adapted to the culture of these articles? The advantages which would
result to this Country from the produce of articles, which ought to be manufactured at home is apparent.” Here Hancock signs off on a warrant de¬manding
pay for a hemp farmer that same year, a good sign that Washington’s plans for the crop were taking hold.

This is interesting letter from Benjamin Lincoln written July 13, 1790. Lincoln offers help to his son help with his land and
gives him advice to make the land more valuable. He also says in part ... “It is quite uncertain yet what will be the fate
of my public securities it is therefore great importance to you to bring your place forward fast....”.Benjamin Lincoln was
an American army officer. He served as a major general in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary
War. He is notable for being involved in three major surrenders during the war: his participation in the Battles of
Saratoga (sustaining a wound shortly afterward) contributed to John Burgoyne’s surrender of a British army, he oversaw
the largest American surrender of the war at the 1780 Siege of Charleston, and, as George Washington’s second in
command, he formally accepted the British surrender at Yorktown. After the war he was active in politics in his native
Massachusetts, He led a militia army (privately funded by Massachusetts merchants) in the suppression of Shays’
Rebellion in 1787, and was a strong supporter of the new United States Constitution. He was for many of his later years

Aron Lewis, and William Been into custody to answer to Todd Lewis over a financial
matter of 96 pounds owed to Lewis. Signed at the conclusion by Sevier. In very good
condi¬tion, with several vertical creases, rough edges, somewhat irregular top left
edge, and scattered toning (heaviest along central fold). Even with the colonies at war,
Sevier had to contend with more routine endeavors, such as issuing the arrest warrant
offered here. Fortunately for Sevier, bigger things were in store for the then-clerk. He
would eventually command the Washington County militia in the Cherokee siege of
Fort Caswell in Tennessee, and six months after signing this order led 240 militiamen over
the Appalachian Moun¬tains to fight against British Major Patrick Ferguson and a similar
number of troops at the Battle of Kings Mountain. The tremendous victory for the Overmountain Men increased Sevier’s fame and popularity on the frontier,
and when the time came for the people of Tennessee to govern themselves, Sevier was easily selected their first elected official. Interesting Revolutionary

Rare Menu for a meeting of The Escaped Officers’ Club signed by Churchill and
ten other members, four months before the Armistice ended World War I – the
exclusive club had been formed in London in 1917. Partly Printed Menu Signed
“Winston S. Churchill” in dark pencil on the “Menu” side of a 3.5” x 5.25” thick
card. [London], “P.A.C., 8 July 1918.” Gilt-edged. One side is imprinted “The
Escaped Officers’ Club / ‘Freedom – but not forgetfulness,” listing 42 officers
captured, by country (Germany, Turkey, South Africa). On verso, “Menu” is
imprinted on top and a five course dinner menu is penned in manuscript. In addition to Churchill, ten other members
of The Escaped Officers’ Club listed on the Menu have signed in ink or pencil: Major Fox (twice, once on each side),
Captain Gilliland, Captain Keeling, Lieutenants Dale, Harding, Insall, Russell, Williams, Wilson, and Wingfield. Seven others
have also signed. Of the members listed, 38 escaped from German prisons, three from Turkey (including Keeling), and
one from South Africa (“The Right Hon. Winston Churchill”). Four of the members were later killed in the World War which
ended four months after this meeting. Gilbert Stuart Martin Insall (1894-1972) signed in ink “G S M Insall.” The motto of the
club is – ‘Freedom, but not Forgetfulness.’”

I. V. STALIN / I paid a visit to Comrade Vatutin at 10:30 in the morning. His condition is
rapidly deteriorating. There were fits of chills and high fever around 4-5 in the morning.
No observations of fits at such time have been made beforehand. / From 10:30 until 12
o’clock in the afternoon, the temperature remained high at 39.9 degrees. The patient
felt very sick. He repeated several times that he does not want to die. The professors
who are treating Comrade Vatutin, along with Comrade Burdenkos deputy Professor
Shamov, think that the operation needs to be performed not on April 1, as I reported
to you yesterday, but today, as soon as the fever drops. For this reason, it is impossible
to psychologically prepare Comrade Vatutin for a possible leg amputation during the
operation. Given his current condition, it is impossible to ask, as is customary, for his
permission to amputate, since it will drastically worsen his already bad state of being,
which is undesirable before such a serious operation. It was decided to not ask his
wife or tell her that a limb may need to be amputated either. / The operation will be tentatively performed today, on March 31 around 2-3 o’clock in the
afternoon.” In this letter, the man who Khrushchev refers to as “Comrade Vatutin” was Nikolai Vatutin, a Soviet General for the Southwestern and Ukrainian
Fronts. Today, many Western scholars regard Vatutin as one of World War II’s most creative commanders. On February 28, 1944, Vatutin regrouped for a
new operation and was heading to Slavuta when he was ambushed by the Ukrainian Insurgent Army far behind the front lines near the village of Mylyatyn
in Ostroh Raion. He did not immediately die from his wounds and was taken to a hospital for treatment. This letter was written roughly two weeks before
Vatutin would succumb to sepsis, resulting from his injuries

ALS signed “U. S. Grant, Lt. Gen.,” one page, lightly-lined, 7.75 x 10, March 3,1865. Letter, marked “Ci- pher” at the top
by Grant indicating this was a message to be telegraphed after it was encrypted, to Secretary of War Ed- win Stanton.
In full: “I would respectfully recommend John A. Rawlins for the appointment of Brig. Gen. & Chief of Staff under the Bill
which has just passed the two Houses of Congress. Will you please do me the favor to endorse this recommendation
favorably?” Notation on reverse in an unidentified hand notes “Copied.” The time “3 PM” in pencil at the top edge
suggests it was sent at that time. A mild overall shade of toning from previ¬ous display, a few tape remnants on
reverse, a couple pencil notations, and a rough left edge, otherwise fine condition. On March 2, Robert E. Lee sent
Grant a message asking to “iron out differences” between the North and South. The following day, when this letter was
transmitted, Lincoln issued instructions on surrender discussions, giving Grant wide-ranging powers on military matters.
Unbeknownst to Grant, Lincoln also appointed John Rawlins “major-general by brevet...for faithful and meri¬torious
service.” Less than a week later, Lincoln would appoint Rawlins as Grant’s chief of staff. When Grant was elected
president in 1868, he appointed Rawlins his secretary of war. The Union used a few forms of coded communication,
but this message was likely encrypted using the Union Cipher Disk. Union officers were notoriously careless with the
disk, often preceding the coded message with the key to interpret it. The Confederates understood the Union coding
method and in all likelihood captured Union Cipher Disks during the war. A fine war-dated document involving a

Rare salt print of John Brown taken by Alexander Gardiner with signature and salutation attched to bottom of
mat.A fanatical abolitionist, Brown maintained an Underground Railroad station in Ohio. In the mid-1850s, he
moved to Kansas, where he led a guerrilla band responsible for the Pottawatomie massacre. Supported by
six wealthy patrons, he planned to capture the Federal arsenal at Harper’s Ferry and distribute the weapons
to slaves. The violent plot ultimately failed when he was captured by Robert E. Lee and hanged, but his
insurrection led the country closer to the Civil War. Ink signature, ‘Yours sincerely, John Brown,’ on an off-white

82: GEORGE PICKETT (PICKETT’S CHARGE)
Virginia-born military officer (1825–1875) who fought with distinction during the Mexican-American War,
resigning his commission to join the Confederate forces shortly after the beginning of the Civil War. Rising to
the rank of Confederate brigadier general within a year, a division led by Pickett arrived on the second day
of the Battle of Gettysburg. In an attack that would come to be immortalized as ‘Pickett’s Charge,’ more
than half of the Confederate forces were wiped out. ALS signed “G. E. Pickett, Capt. 9th Infy, Comg Co.
D,” one page, lightly-lined, 7.75 x 9.75, July 4, 1856. Brief letter to Colonel H. K. Craig, Chief of Ordnance of
the U. S. Army. In full: “I have the honor to enclose the return of Ordnance & ordnance stores pertaining to
Compy ‘D’ 9th Infy. For the 2nd Quarter 1856.” Nicely double matted and framed with a seated portrait of
Pickett and a biographical plaque to an overall size of 25.25 x 25. In fine condition, with intersecting folds, and
some scattered light toning and soiling. Pickett began serving with the 9th U.S. Infantry in Texas and in 1855
was promoted to captain in the regiment. The year of this letter, he was dispatched the Pacific Northwest
to quell tensions between white settlers and Native Americans. He would command the construction of
Fort Bellingham on Bellingham Bay in Washington Territory, where he would learn the Chinook language
and become sensitive to the predicament of the local Indians. In Washington, Pickett married Morning Mist,
a Native American woman of the Haida tribe, who would give birth to his son, James Tilton Pickett. A fine

postmarked October 30th, 1944. In fine condition, with pencil stroke through address, and
expected soiling and creasing Lieutenant General Claire Chennault was an American
military aviator. A contentious officer, he was a fierce advocate of “pursuit” or fighterinterceptor aircraft during the 1930s when the U.S. Army Air Corps was focused primarily on
high-altitude bombardment. Chennault retired in 1937, went to work as an aviation trainer
and adviser in China, and commanded the “Flying Tigers” during World War II.

victory. My best wishes.” The insignia of the 103rd Infantry Division is a yellow disk with a green saguaro cactus superimposed
upon a patch of blue. The 103rd was known as the “Cactus” division to represent the states whose troops formed the unit in the
early 1920s: Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico. On January 15, 1945, Gen. Anthony C. McAuliffe was redeployed from the
Battle of the Bulge and given command of the 103rd which he retained until July 1945.

99: RAIN IN THE FACE
One of the most feared and respected Native American warriors
of the late 19th century. A Hunkpapa Lakota, he was born in about
1835. His name may have been a result of a fight when he was a
boy in which his face was splattered like rain with his Cheyenne
adversary’s blood. He has often been linked to the death of
General George Custer, the United States Cavalry hero, at his
defeat at the Battle of Little Bighorn in Montana in 1876. There is
much argument about who actually killed Custer. The general’s
wife believed that Rain in the Face dealt the death blow and the
American poet Longfellow wrote about his deeds in ‘The Revenge
of Rain in the Face.’ Original 4.25 x 6.5 half-length cabinet photo
of Chief Rain In The Face in a jacket and tie, imprinted in the lower
border “Geo. E. Spencer, U.S. Army Photo, 7420 Ellis Ave. Chicago,” and “Sitting Bull’s Log Cabin now on
Exhibition at World’s Fair, Chicago, 1893, owned by Sitting Bull Log Cabin Co., Mandan, North Dakota,”
printed along the top edge. Signed on the reverse in pencil, “Rain in the Face.” In very good condition,
with scattered surface marks and rubbing to image, a litlle area in top center affecting written caption,
does not affect photograph, scattered light soiling to borders, and scattered soiling to reverse. Rain in
the Face signed this rare cabinet photograph at the 1893 Columbian Exposition (World’s Fair) in Chicago,
Illinois. The Hunkpapa Lakota Sioux chief was a participant in one of the cultural villages on exhibition at the
fair meant to represent peoples from around the world. The Indian exhibit included ‘Sitting Bull’s Cabin,’ the
actual cabin in which the Sioux chief died. A contemporary description of the Exposition said of the scene:
“Sitting Bull’s Cabin was filled with a number of Indians, including Rain-in-the-Face. War dances were given
daily.” Acknowledged as the grandest exhibition of the time, the 1893 World’s Fair was attended by 27
million people, nearly half of the U.S. population. Rain in the Face and his band had surrendered in 1880,
after which he lived on the Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota. He died in 1905 on the reservation
after a protracted illness. An extremely rare signed photograph, one of a very few known examples.

100: ISAAC “HANGING JUDGE” PARKER
Rare western item, an isaac Parker sworn and approved oath of office dated November 13, 1885, for
a Wiley A. Cox : in part reads.. I Wiley a Cox do solemnly swear that I faithfully execute a...perform the
duties of Deputy Marshal of the Western District of Arkansas during my continuance in said office, and
take only my lawful fees, so help me God.” Signed “W. A. Cox”. Isaac Charles Parker served as a U. S.
District Judge presiding over the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas for twenty-one
years. He served in that capacity during the most dangerous time for law enforcement, the western
expansion. He is remembered today as the legitimate “Hanging Judge” of the American Old West.
In his years on the bench, Parker tried 13,490 cases, of which 344 were capital crimes. Guilty pleas
or convictions were handed down in 9,454 cases. Of the 160 (156 men and 4 women) sentenced to
death by hanging, 79 were actually hanged. The rest died in jail, appealed, or were pardoned.

101: ANNIE OAKLEY SIGNATURE AND SHOT TARGET CARD
Extremely rare large dark signature on a 4 1/2”x3” card as well as one other personal
target 4 1/2”x2” shot cards with a bullet hole in it. These cards where given out as
souvenir after her performance as a champion shooter and are rare as well as her
signature. This is one of the fines signatures of Oakley which we have seen almost
3 1/2” long. Annie Oakley (August 13, 1860 – November 3, 1926),was an American
sharpshooter and exhibition shooter. Oakley’s amazing talent and timely rise to fame
led to a starring role in Buffalo Bill’s Wild West show, which propelled her to become
the first American female superstar.Oakley’s perhaps most famous trick is being able
to repeatedly split a playing card, edge-on, and put several more holes in it before it
could touch the ground, while using a .22 caliber rifle, at 90 feet

John Ross, also known as Guwisguwi, was the Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation from 1828–1866An
autograph letter signed “Jno Ross” with a flourish. Ross penned: “The compliments of the undersigned
to the Revd. Mr. Balch. And beg leave to state that, the requisite dispatch of his business, and
consequent shortness of his present visit to New York, has prevented him the pleasure of calling on
Mr. Balch agreeably to his [p]olite invitation. And being on the eve of starting for Washington, he can
only add adieu... Jno Ross”. The letter is in good condition, with very dark writing and a fine signature.
Someone wrote “Cherokee Chief” beneath Ross’s signature; this, and a hole in the left edge of the
paper which affects two words, in no way affects the signature. Letter folds intersect the signature, but
do not affect clarity in any way.

SHAW, William A. (1914-1977) Professional Gangster, leader of the White Cap Gang in Indianapolis, Indiana during the early 1930’s. Specialized in drug store
and grocery store holdups. Shaw was 19 years old when he met John Dillinger. At that time Dillinger was a bungling small-time crook who failed to have any
impact in the criminal world. From the day the two met, Shaw began teaching Dillinger how to make crime pay. Dillinger soon gained confidence under
Shaw’s crime tutoring and this sowed the seeds for Dillinger’s life of professional crime. On the day Shaw and Dillinger met, June 4, 1933 they held their first
robbery together that same night. The ORIGINAL DILLINGER GANG consisted of William A. Shaw (Kid), Noble Claycombe (Sammy) and John Dillinger (Dan).
William A. Shaw drove the get-a-way cars during the Dillinger bank robberies. Shaw spent all of seventeen months of the last forty-four years of his life in prison
and jails. Shaw was in prison when Dillinger walked out of the Biograph Theater in Chicago into a deadly hail of FBI gunfire. William A. Shaw died Dec. 6, 1977
in the Wabash Hotel, Chicago after a cigarette ignited his bed mattress. His body lay unclaimed for a week in the Chicago morgue. Autograph manuscript
signed, Indiana State Prison, April 1960. Thirty eight pages all in the very neat hand of William A. Shaw addressed to Joseph M. Pinkston, Radio Station WIRE,
307 N. Penn Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, In two places on the manuscript is a rubber stamp, “APPROVED April 25, 1960, Warden”. The entire manuscript is the
detailed story from beginning to end of Shaw’s relationship with John Dillinger. Cover page (1.25 pages), in Shaw’s hand, lists the original Dillinger Gang and
the names they went by. It is addressed to Joseph Pinkston, who later became the proprietor of the John Dillinger Historical Museum at Nashville, Indiana, He
writes: “Through the past twenty-six years I have been reluctant to talk or write about my association with the notorious and infamous outlaw John Dillinger.
So much has been said about him that it makes my association with him trivial. I was introduced to Dillinger the first part of June 1933. The newspapers lists
our first robbery June 4th or the same night I met him”. A second cover page on the imprinted stationery of INDIANA STATE PRISON, Michigan City, Indiana,
December 26, 1964 to Joe M. Pinkston, one and a half full pages, neatly written, signed “Bill”. A PS is also signed “Bill”. A friendly letter talking about Pinkston’s
book about Dillinger. He goes on to write: “Did you ever get the museum going as you planned? I have changed a bit in my way of thinking as far as the
life of Crime is concerned. With just a little help and consideration I am sure I can make ago of it in the future. You are the first to hear me say this but I am
sure you will not be the last....I have something in mind that may help others to avoid this kind of life don’t get me wrong, I’m not coming home tomorrow, it
is meerly that I am trying to plan for the future if there is one for me. At long last I am tired of butting my head against these iron bars. I hope what I have on
my mind can be put across to the officials of the Correction Department. If experience means anything then I feel I am well qualified to do the job I have in
mind. I will explain it later to you.....” Included in this collection are two original photographs of William A. Shaw being interviewed by the press at The John
Dillinger Historical Museum. Also included are two newspaper articles, the first of Ex-Con Shaw outside the Biograph Theater where Dillinger died and three

107: MARY MCLEOD BETHUNE SIGNED POEM AND PHOTO
Mary McLeod Bethune, civil rights leader and founder of Bethune-Cookman College,signed this
letter in response to a young 4-H Club member asking for her favorite motto/saying or quotation.
Her answer was the poem “A Plea for Strength” which she included in the letter. She also notes
that the signed photo of herself is enclosed. The letter is on her letterhead and is dated October
13, 1952. It is in very nice condition; just light foxing mostly at edges. The photo is actually a photo
postcard of Bethune which she signed beneath her picture, photo does have a slight paperclip
indentation on top but does not detract from photo. Bethune signed items are scarce as well as
this great signed poem about not giving up by this civil rights leader.

letter might relate to a specific sitituation where Hodgskin felt undermined by his
editor Dickens , where he was over passed for a leader column by another editor a
John Towne Danson the financial editor, based on this and other clashes, Dickens did
give up his role as editor shortly after.

Photographic Reproduction Signed, “Renoir,” 5.75” x 7.5 image, size with signed border 6.5” x 10.5”, one
of the artist’s paintings of a nude woman standing outdoors. Signed by Renoir in bold black ink on the
lower border. Also signed by the Mayor of Cagnes beneath a short holograph statement confirming
the authenticity of Renoir’s signature. The lower border also features the Mayor’s official purple rubber
stamp. A rare and attractive signed photograph. Light soiling and edge wear along border edges. Small
abrasion on lower border barely touches the tip of three words of the mayor’s holographic statement.
Near fine condition. The photograph was originally part of the archive of Renoir’s art dealer, the great
Ambrose Vollard. Vollard, in order to avoid any future disputes regarding the authenticity of works by
artists he represented, had all the original paintings photographed, then asked the artist to sign each photo. After Vollard’s death his archives, including
virtually all of these photographs, went to the Musée d’Orsay. A small number were sold to pay the expenses of the estate. While we have seen several
of these photographs signed, very few are of a human subject, making this more desirable. The original painting might be north of $100 million.

Mathew Brady documents are extremely rare, in the last 50 years there have only been a couple signed documents to have come to market. Brady rarely liked
to sign and was a very myopic character and usually had someone sign on his behalf. This signed lease agreement between Mathew B. Brady “photographist”
and a Mr. James Colles gentleman of the first part is for a property in the Fifteeth ward in the City of New York located on the Seventh westernly corner of
Broadway and Tenth street. This deed go into all of the details where Brady was to create one of his finest galleries, just before the outbreak of the Civil War
and was to go into effect in April of 1860 and run through 7 years until April of 1867. Brady’s photos are considered some of the most important documentation
of the civil war and Mathew Brady signed documents in the market are almost nonexistent especially any related to his photograph studio which is virtually
unobtainable. Brady is considered the father of photo juornalism mostly from his photography and captured moments from the Civil war period.

Jackie Cochran signed this letter and 8x10 photo for a young 4-H Club member asking about
her favorite motto/saying or quotation. Her reply was a rather cryptic “I can never have
so little that I haven’t had less.” Jacqueline Cochran was was a pioneer American aviator,
considered to be one of the most gifted racing pilots of her generation. She was also the
first woman to break the Sound Barrier which the photo seems to repersent according to
letter her letter in sending the photo,(likely the “jet speed record”). among numerous other aviation records. The photo is
on cardstock and has 3 holes along top edge due to having been stored in a 3-ring binder, and there’s some scotch tape
residue at right and left margins. The letter is dated February 4, 1954 and is on her letterhead. The upper left corner of the

letter written just months prior to her horrific accident and demise, McAuliffe was scheduled to
teach lessons from the space shuttle as part of NASA’s Teacher in Space project. She had been
selected as its primary candidate in 1985 from a field of more than 11,500 applicants. When
Challenger exploded 73 seconds after takeoff, millions of horrified schoolchildren and adults
were watching from schools, homes, and offices worldwide. A very rare letter from McAuliffe
showing how much she was excited to introduce the “New Frontier” to the children and people
of the world.

a letter to him from the Earl of Suffolk – two years later, Bacon, as Lord High Chancellor,
successfully prosecuted Suffolk and his wife for embezzlement, extortion, and fraud. Rare
Autograph Endorsement on integral leaf of Manuscript Letter Signed “T Suffolke” as Lord
High Treasurer, half page, 7.5” x 10.5” In Olde English “To the Right Ho[nor]able Sr Francis
Bacon Knight / Lord Keeper of the great Seale of England.” [London], November 27, 1617.
Docketed on verso of integral leaf by Bacon: “touching the cofferer his resignation of his
place.” Not fully translated. On watermarked laid paper. Two similar triangular cut at left
margin not touching any writing. Fine condition. In part, “My verie good Lord being ... by
Sir Arthur Ingram to verifie my knowledge to your Lo[rdshi]p touching Sir Robert Vernon’s
consent to the resigning of his place of Coferer. I cannot do less in satisfaction of his request
than to let your Lo[rdshi]p understand that Sir Robert Vernon came unto me about two hours
before Sir Arthur Ingram was sworn, and did interest me...” Lord Thomas Howard (1561-1626)
commanded the “Golden Lion” in the attack on the Spanish Armada in July1588. In 1603,
he was created 1st Earl of Suffolk by King James I. On July 11, 1614, Suffolk became Lord
High Treasurer. In 1618 Suffolk was suspended from his office because of irregularities. He was
accused of having embezzled a great part of the money received from the Dutch for the cautionary towns, with defrauding the King of £240,000 in jewels, with
committing frauds in the alum business, and with extorting money from the King’s subjects. His wife, the Countess of Suffolk, was indicted for extorting money from
persons having business at the Treasury. On July 19, 1619, the Earl of Suffolk was removed from his office of Lord High Treasurer. On October 20, 1619, Suffolk and
his wife were brought into the Star Chamber. As Lord High Chancellor, Sir Francis Bacon was the prosecutor. After an 11-day hearing, they were fined £30,000,
commanded to restore all money wrongfully extorted, and sentenced to be imprisoned apart in the Tower of London at the King’s pleasure. They were released
after ten days’ imprisonment.

the reverse. According to the consignor, the signature was obtained at the
Sacramento concert. Accompanied by a 2000 Experience Hendrix magazine
with an article on the aforementioned event and a self-published book
discussing the show in detail. Performed at the Men’s Gym at Sacramento State
College on February 8, 1968, this Hendrix concert was organized by a group of
ambitious college students who—acting as promoters—formed an organization
Students for the Appreciation of Pop Music to take advantage of the school’s
available arena. After securing the facility, they invited the guitarist to perform...

This Help! movie poster for the 1967 Polish release was designed by Eryk Lipinski. Mr. Lipinski was a prominent movie
poster designer, mainly in the 60s and 70s. He was the founder and editor of the Polish satirical magazine Szpilki. During
World War II he helped organize anti-Nazi resistance, and was a surviving prisoner from the Auschwitz concentration
camps. In 1971, he founded the Caricature Museum in Warsaw, and remained director for twenty years. This high-quality
poster design for the movie is a lithograph on hand-made paper. A buffoonish caricature of the four Beatles’ forms a
central swirl of mop-top hair, on which is imprinted “Na Pomoc!” [Help!]. Black, red and cream graphic design on bright

KING KONG 1933 RKO STUDIOS ORIGINAL STATUE AWARD PRESENTED TO WALTER ELLIOTT FOR SOUND EFFECTS.
Walter Elliott came up with many of the effects for this classic, one of his best sound effects for the film was to
create Kongs chest beating sound. Elliott created this by taping a mike to his back and actually beating his chest,
this became that actual sound used in the film for these scenes, like when Kong was on top of the empire state
building. The statue is made of wood and stands almost 8 inches tall , it is 3 inches wide at the base. Walter Elliott
would later win an Academy Award for his work in the film “Mad,Mad World” EXTREMELY UNIQUE AND CERTAINLY
RARE! Produced in 1933 the film “King Kong” is considered to be one of the most GROUND BREAKING films of all
time. And is generally considered to be one of the 50 greatest films ever made. The Classic was well recieved at
the box office but was snubbed by the Academy Awards. RKO studios answer to that was to present these awards
to those who contributed to the completion of the film, Sound effects director Elliott being one of them. The silver

AMERICA BASEBALL TEAM CERTIFICATE!
There are few, if any, more impressive Ruth-signed items than a full signature (George H. "Babe" Ruth)
All America Board of Baseball Award Certificate. Presented is an ideal example, as good as it gets,
presented to Hall of Famer Mickey Cochrane by Babe Ruth personally in 1931. Mickey Cochrane
hit .349 for Philadelphia that year and was a major factor in that team's 1931 (and 1930 and 1929)
championship season. In addition to Ruth's signature, the certificate is signed by nine famous sports
editors or writers of the day who apparently were members of the All America Board of Baseball.
Several are winners of the Spinks Award and are Hall of Famers themselves: W.S. Farnsworth - New
York, Warren W. Brown - Chicago, James C. Isaminger¬Philadelphia, Jack Malaney - Boston, "Bud"
Shaver - Detroit, Stuart Bell - Cleveland, J. Ellray - St. Louis, Kirk Miller (sic) - Washington, D.C., Harry
Keck - Pittsburgh. During the late 1920s, promotional whiz Christy Walsh, who was also Babe Ruth's
agent, came up with the idea of creating the All America Board of Baseball. The idea was for the
board to formally recognize and honor the greatest players of the game at each position each
year. Walsh appointed Babe Ruth as Chairman of the board and each year it took great pride in
selecting an All America Baseball Team from the ranks of the Major Leagues. The selection of the All
America Baseball Team was made by Ruth and a panel of sportswriters (one sportswriter from each Major League city), with recipients receiving an extremely
impressive certificate signed by Ruth and the panel of sportswriters. Each player also received a colorful red, white, and blue sweater. Offered here is the All
America Baseball Team certificate issued to Mickey Cochrane in 1931. The certificate, printed in grand calligraphic style, is dated September 6, 1931, and has
been signed in black fountain pen signature by "George H. 'Babe' Ruth" and the ten respective sportswriters on the board. Becasue this was cherished it was
praobally hung for everybody to see which has coaused some fading to the Ruth signature and some of the sports writers, but it isclearly visable and would
rate around a 5 in darkness.The original seal and ribbon remain intact and perfectly affixed in the lower left (these seals and ribbons are often damaged or
missing). The certificate measures 13.5 x 16.5 inches and is in Near Mint condition. These certificates, because of their extraordinary display value, the fact that
they were a prestigious award issued to players, and the fact that they often feature a rare full-name signature of Ruth, have always been extremely popular
and valuable to collectors. The fact that this certificate was issued to Mickey Cochrane, a Hall of Famer, makes this an all the more significant and outstanding
example of one of the collecting world's most highly prized Babe Ruth signed items.This is a particularly exceptional Ruth signed display piece, dating from the
heart of his active playing career, that would be a highlight in many different types of collections

This incredible photo shows the Saint Mary industrial High school baseball team and is dated on back 1914.the
size is 6”x4.75” and in good condition other than some identification on a couple players and the way it was
trimmed. Although it is dated in 1914 Ruth is not in this team photo. There are very few surviving photos from this
school and team. This photo does not have Ruth in it because it was probably taken after he left the school and
was signed the same year to Baltimore. Some of the same players in the only known photo showing Ruth and
Saint Mary’s team do look to be in this photo. Anything related to this school and baseball from these years is
incredibly scarce and almost unobtainable... The story of Ruth going to the school starts with his father. Because they simply were unable to handle their
oldest son, in 1902, Ruth's father, mother, and a Justice of the Peace filed the form that legally labeled the seven-year-old George Ruth Jr. "incorrigible
and vicious...beyond the control" of his parents. He was committed to the St. Mary's Industrial School for Boys and legally removed from his parents' care,
becoming a ward of the Bavarian Brothers who operated the school. George Ruth Jr. would spend most of his next 12 years inside of St. Mary's. When
he left, it would be because he had signed a professional baseball contract. Jack Dunn, owner of the Baltimore Orioles, to come watch George Jr. play
in February 1914 after watching him for less than an hour. Upon seeing George Jr. for the first time, the Orioles Players referred to George Jr.to as “Jack’s
newest babe”, and thus the most famous nickname in American sports history was born

Conditions for Bidding:
Absentee bids, whether written, phoned, faxed or electronically transferred are accepted as legal and binding
contracts to purchase the described items. Successful bidders will be notified by email, phone, fax or regular
mail within 5 working days. Payment is expected within 7 days following notification. Anyone of good
creditworthiness acceptable to the auctioneer may bid, including the auction staff, however, it is up to the
sole discretion of the auctioneer whether to accept a bid or not. The Auctioneer is the sole determinant in a
disputed bid. The auctioneer may withdraw any article from the sale or end the sale early if he feels that there
is an absence of reasonable bidding. Auctioneer reserves the right to bid the reserved amount or open the
bidding at a pre-determined amount commensurate with the value of the item. Phone bidding is allowed only
under pre-arranged conditions prior to the sale. In the event that a One Of A Kind Auctions LLC representative
fails to properly execute an absentee, internet or telephone bid (regardless of reason) the representative
and/or One Of A Kind Auctions LLC will not be held responsible for any actual or imagined losses incurred.
Telephone bids will normally be arranged on items with estimated value of $500.00 or above. Items below
$500.00 must be executed as absentees unless otherwise approved by One Of A Kind Auctions LLC. A One
Of A Kind Auctions LLC representative will attempt to reach the phone bidder twice during the auction at the
numbers listed above.
Breach of Purchase:
If the purchaser fails to pay in full the total purchase price of all items for which he/she was the highest bidder
within 15 days of the sale, One Of A Kind Auctions LLC may exercise all legal rights and remedies which
may include but not limited to: terminating the sale and applying any payments made by the purchaser
to the damages caused by the purchaser’s breach, and/or reoffering these items without any reserve at
public auction and holding the purchaser liable for any deficiency plus the costs of reselling the items. Any
article purchased and not removed from the auction premises immediately following the sale will be at
the purchaser’s risk. One Of A Kind Auctions LLC reserves the right to assess storage fees for items left at the
Galleries for more than 30 days after the auction.
Payment Terms:
Cash, personal, business or certified checks. Bank wire transfers will be arranged upon request. A 18% buyer’s
premium will be added to the total sale price. One Of A Kind Auctions LLC reserves the right to hold
merchandise until check payments clear.
Sales Tax: A 7% Florida State Sales Tax will be added to all purchases redeemed at our facility by bidder or
his delegate unless bidder provides a valid State issued Resale Certificate. Items shipped out-of-state will be
exempt from the State Sales Tax, provided that One Of A Kind Auctions LLC is paid directly by the bidder for
packing and shipping costs or the bidder provides a valid State issued Resale Certificate.
Shipping:
Purchases will be available for shipment upon receipt of payment. Shipping will normally occur within 10 days of
payment. One Of A Kind Auctions LLC will attempt to find the lowest shipping price for each order and
will identify this to the purchaser for approval. One Of A Kind Auctions LLC will not declare less than the
full sale price on anyinternational paperwork. Other shipments will be insured for full value unless the buyer
specifically requests othercoverage. One Of A Kind Auctions LLC is not responsible for any shipper’s refusal to
fully compensate the buyer fordamages that may occur. All International customs costs and policies are the
responsibility of the buyer.

CONDITIONS OF SALE FOR AUCTION
The following constitutes the entire terms and conditions on which
property listed in the catalogue shall be offered for sale or sold by One
Of A Kind Collectibles LLC. and any consignor of such property for
whom we act as agent.
1. As used herein the term “bid price” means the price at which a lot is
knocked down to the purchaser and the term “purchase price” means
the aggregate of (a) the bid price, (b) A PREMIUM PAYABLE BY THE
PURCHASER OF 18% OF THE BID PRICE and (c) Florida state or local sales
tax if applicable.
2. This is an Online, Mail, Phone, Email and Fax Bid Auction. As of closing
time printed below, the highest bidder shall be deemed to have
purchased the offered lot in accordance with all of the conditions
set forth herein and thereupon (a) assumes full risk and responsibility
therefore (b) if requested will sign a confirmation of purchase, and (c)
will pay the purchase price in
full or such part as we may require for all lots purchased. No lot may be
transferred. All property shall be shipped at the purchaser’s expense.
Each sale made pursuant to these Conditions of Sale will be deemed
to constitute a grant of a security interest by the purchaser to us in,
and we may retain as collateral security for the purchaser’s obligations
to us, any of the purchaser’s property in our possession, and we may
apply against such obligations all monies held or received by us for
the account of, or owing to, the purchaser. Whenever the purchaser
pays only a part of the total purchase price for one or more lots
purchased, we may apply such payments, in our sole discretion, to
the lots we chose. Payment will not be deemed made in full until we
have collected all amounts due in cash or good funds represented by
cleared checks or cashier checks. If the foregoing conditions or any
other applicable conditions herein are not complied with, in addition
to other remedies available to us and the consignor by law, including
but without limitations, the right to hold the purchaser liable for the
purchase price, we at our option may either (a) cancel the sale,
retaining as liquidated damages all payments made by purchaser or
(b) resell the property, either publicly or privately, and in such event
the purchaser shall be liable for the payment of any deficiency plus
all costs and expenses of both sales, our commission at our standard
rates, all other charges due hereunder, attorney’s feel and incidental
damages.
3. All autograph material in this sale is guaranteed genuine for the life
of the original purchaser (unless otherwise stated or if contrary to other
provisions of these terms). Any autograph item sold which is determined
to be not authentic by two independent dealers or authenticators
acceptable to both parties to the sale may be returned by the original
buyer at any time for an immediate refund of the purchase price (only).
Non-autograph items are guaranteed genuine for a period of twentyone (21) days of receipt. Any declarations of lack of authenticity by
any party must be made in writing Items may also be returned if the
catalog description differs significantly from the item’s actual state;
such returns must be made within three (3) days of purchaser’s receipt
of the lot(s). All returned lots must be in the same condition as shipped.
All items are in very good condition unless stated otherwise.
4. We reserve the right to withdraw any property at any time before
the actual sale. We reserve the right to reject a bid from any bidder.
The highest bidder acknowledged by us shall be the purchaser. In
the event of any dispute between bidders, or in the event we doubt
the validity of any bid, we shall have sole and final discretion either to
determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and resell the article. If
any dispute arises after the sale, our sales records shall be conclusive
in all respects. If we are prevented by fire, theft or any other reason
whatsoever from delivering any property to the purchaser, our liability
shall be limited to the sum actually paid therefore by the purchaser
and shall in no event include any incidental or consequential
damages.
5. If a lot is offered subject to a reserve (the confidential minimum price below
which the lot will not be sold), we may implement such reserve by biding on
behalf of the consignor, whether by opening bidding or continuing
bidding in response to other bidders until reaching the reserve. One Of A
Kind Collectibles LLC. may own some or many of the lots in this sale.
6. We have tried to accurately describe every item in this catalog. Condition
description ranges are: fair, good, very good and fine. Fair being the lowest
level and fine being the best condition. Substantial defects are noted; minor
defects may not be mentioned. If any substantial defect not described in
the catalog is discovered by the purchaser, the lot must be returned within
two days. This is not an approval sale. Any return for any reason other than
authenticity issues will not be accepted.
7. All items are to be paid for by (a) cash, (b) cashier check or (c) personal
check made to “One Of A Kind Collectibles”, All sales are final. No bid can be
withdrawn at any time. All payment must be in U.S. dollars.
8. Full payment is due within 14 days of the ending auction date unless an
exception is made in writing. Late payments have a 2.5% fee per month
added to them.
9. These Conditions of Sale and the purchaser’s and our respective rights and
obligations hereunder are governed by Florida law. By bidding at an auction,
whether by Web, Fax, Mail, Telephone or other means, the buyer or bidder
agrees to be bound by these Conditions of Sale. Any dispute, controversy or
claim arising out of or relating to the Agreement or the breach, termination
or validity thereof, brought by or against One Of A Kind Collectibles LLC.
(but not including claims brought against the consignor by the purchaser of
lots consigned hereunder) shall be resolved by Arbitrator.
10. The Arbitrator shall be empowered to order specific performance and
to award consequential damages and pre-award interest, but shall not be
empowered to award punitive damages. The arbitration shall be governed
by the U.S. Arbitration Act, 9 U.S.C. 1-16, and judgment upon the award
rendered by the Arbitrator may be entered by any court having jurisdiction
thereof. Each party shall bear its own attorney’s fees and expenses in
connection with such proceedings and shall bear one-half of the Arbitrator’s
fees and expenses.
11. These Conditions of Sale shall bind the successor and assigns of all bidders
and purchasers and insure to the benefit of our successors and assigns. No
waiver, amendment or modification of the terms hereof shall bind us unless
specifically stated in a writing signed by us. If any part of these Conditions of
Sale is for any reason invalid or unenforceable, the rest shall remain valid and
enforceable.
12. We accept bids in advance of sale by Web, Telephone, Email, Fax or Mail.
“Buy” bids will not be accepted; all bids must state the highest bid price the
bidder is willing to pay. As noted above, a premium payable by the purchaser
will be added to the bid price. In the event identical bids are submitted,
the earliest will take precedence. We assume no responsibility for failure to
execute these bids for any reason whatsoever.
13. Estimated Prices. As a convenience to our clients, we furnish pre-sale
estimates for all lots included in the catalogue. These are intended as an
approximate guide to our opinion of current market value, and should not be
interpreted as a price. The final bid price may well be less than or more than
any estimate printed.
14. The purchase of any letter or document does not give the buyer any
copyright ownership.
15. Shipment is via Fedex or the USPS unless otherwise instructed. Shipping
charges are added to ALL invoices. Items are shipped after receipt of
payment.
