EDITOR’S NOTE
A SMALL WORD FROM THE EDITOR
2014 became an extremely important year for Automobili Lamborghini SpA, they probably faced their
most important battle in recent history ... replacing
their most successful model ever, the Gallardo.
And they managed very well, the new Huracan
LP610-4 took the automotive world by storm, raving reviews, unseen sales numbers (production is
sold out for many months with over 3,000 units on
the books in only 10 months) and the new Squadra
Corse department at Sant’Agata has already unveiled the Super Trofeo version of this new V10.
We take a look at the Huracan LP620-2 Super Trofeo in this issue, and Lamborghini is already talking
about an even lighter and faster GT3 edition being
developed in-house despite Reiter Engineering being the world renowned manufacturer of the amazing Gallardo GT3, of which this German company
just released the latest evolution ... the R-EX.
4 | Lamborghini Club Nederland magazine | Three2014
As if all those competition models aren’t already
enough to make us eagerly await the 2015 season
chief test driver Sanna made a very bold statement
during an interview ... he wants to enter a Lamborghini in the 24h de Le mans race, and not only
enter ... but also win the legendary race in France,
which means they would need an LMP1 model.
So after the Huracan LP610-4 made a serious blast
on the super car market people were waiting for the
2014 Paris Mondial de l’Automobile, expecting to be
able to admire the drop top version ... the Huracan
LP610-4 Spyder ... but no such luck, Lamborghini
made an even bolder move by showing the world
their first ever hybrid model: the Asterion LPI-910-4
Ibrida.
At first only a concept to show what Lamborghini
could do, but a limited production run has been put
into consideration recently ...
NEWS CORNER
2015 SUPER TROFEO
The 2014 Blancpain Super Trofeo series was concluded during
the World Final in Sepang with
only Gallardo on the grid, however the 2015 season will see
the brand new Huracan LP6202 Super Trofeo compete together with the earlier Gallardo race
car on three continents, Europe,
North America and Asia for a total of six races in each series.
However in 2015 the World Final
will be held on the same track
for all three series ... the Sebring
race track in Florida USA will be
the place where the European,
the Asian and the North America
Super Trofeo Series will compete their sixth and final round
for each series ... and culminate
in the actual World Final on November 21 to 22nd 2015.
The European Blancpain Super
Trofeo series already featured
a PRO category for the more
experienced drivers behind the
wheel of the V10 Lamborghini
race car, 2015 will also see this
PRO class introduced in Asia
and North America while both
the new Huracan and the wellknown Gallardo will be on the
track at the same time.
6 | Lamborghini Club Nederland magazine | Three2014
Naturally the Blancpain Super
Trofeo Europe races will be held
during the same weekend organized by long term partner SRO
(Stéphane Ratel Organization)
with the first race of the season
on the renowned Italian track at
Monza on April 11 and 12. After
that the Bulls are shipped to Silverstone for round two on May
23 to 24, round three will bring
the Blancpain race cars to Le
Castellet in France on June 20
and 21 while round four will be
held during the historic 24h de
Spa and the world famous Spa
Francorchamps circuit in Belgium on July 25 and 26. The

final race on a European track
will be at the famous Nürnburgring in Germany on September

final race in Sebring just ahead
of the World Final in November.
Over in Asia the Japanese Fuji
track starts the season on June
20 to 21, July 11 and 12 will
see the Asia Series in Motegi
while August 8 and 9 will have
the Bulls compete in Malaysia
on the first ever street race in
the city center of Kuala Lumur.
September 5 and 6 will turn the
Indonesian track at Sentul into a
Blancpain Super Trofeo venue
while Shanghai in China will see
the Gallardo and Huracan race
cars compete against each other on October 17 and 18.
In North America the first race
of the Blancpain series will be
held on the Laguna Seca track
in California on May 2 and 3
before heading to Watkins Glen
in New York on June 27 and 28
while Alton in Virginia comes in
August 22 and 23. For the first
time the Blancpain Super Trofeo series will race at the Cota
track in Texas on September 18

season goes to Road Atlanta in
Georgia from 1 to 3 October.

Gallardo R-EX
Text by Mark Smeyers
We’ve seen the first units of the
new 2015 Super Trofeo race
car based on the Huracan a
while ago and rumor has it the
Squadra Corse department at
Automobili Lamborghini SpA is
developing a GT3 variant of the
Huracan too ... but there is one
company that has been racing
Lamborghini cars since 2000 ...
renowned Reiter Engineering
is still the worldwide exclusive
manufacturer of Lamborghini
GT1 and GT3 racing cars and
on the world’s leading GT3 engineering companies to have
achieved FIA approval.
2015 FIA GT3 specifications Lamborghini
Gallardo Extenso by Reiter Engineering
Reiter prepared Lamborghini
race cars are competing in Europe, America and Asia with almost 100 customers behind the
wheel of these Raging Bulls and
now the next evolution in V10
race cars has been unveiled ...
the brand new Reiter Gallerdo
Extenso, in short the R-EX ...
taking the previous Gallardo
GT3 FL2 into an extreme width
of 2050cm in total.
8 | Lamborghini Club Nederland magazine | Three2014
Being wider than the previous
Reiter GT3 Bull this new R-EX
is only just within the regulations
for the 2015 season where the
Reiter Gallardo Extenso will be
seen in the Blancpain GT Series, the US Pirelli World Challenge and the SRO GT Sports
Club races.
At the rear the original aluminum panels are replaced with
NEWS CORNER

wider carbon fiber quarter panels while the rear axle receives
13cm longer wishbones to
achieve significantly improved
handling besides looking great
... power comes from using race
camshafts and Mahle pistons
that reduce fuel consumption
and increase reliability ... keep
in mind that every single Reiter
developed Gallardo engine has
been completely undamaged
since 2012 ... for a race engine
that is indeed a very impressive
feat.
The Reiter Gallardo Extenso not
only boasts a wider rear section
and more power, the exhaust
note is very impressive to suit
the aggressive looks of this new
Racing Bull, note that Reiter also
installs new headlights, new taillights and a full carbon fiber rear
section reminding us of the legendary Reiter Murciélago R-SV
GT1 ... the most impressive V12
race car if you ask me.
When Hans Reiter is asked
about the new Huracan and
why he still decided to develop
the Gallardo further the answer was simple and logical ...
There are already over 100 Reiter prepared Lamborghini race
cars that left the workshop in
Kirchanschoering, Bavaria with
over 200 victories and over 400
podium finishes, which means
the Gallardo is an extremely
solid base for GT3 racing ... in
2015 and beyond in fact, Hans
stated “In a similar way to the
aviation industry, we build on
affordable evolutionary steps in
the car development and forgo
revolutionary changes. Reliability and longevity have absolute
priority. Since 2012 every Reiter
developed Gallardo engine is
completely undamaged!”
Reiter Engineering remains
the exclusive and official Lamborghini partner for the Gallardo
GT3 and for its development
and production. “For me it is of
great importance to maintain
and justify the trust that we have
enjoyed from Lamborghini for
14 years now,” comments Hans
Reiter on the communiqué. “As
we expect several new race
cars for the end of 2015 and a
corresponding increase in competition with greater performance, we already managed to
take up the challenge. With the
new REITER Gallardo EXTENSO - short R-EX - our customers will be attuned to the future
performance level early in 2015,
but also knows that they have
received a proven and reliable
product.”
Only 10 units of the Reiter Gallardo Extenso - R-EX will be
built, each priced at €248,000
which includes the 24h kit and
finished in either clear carbon
fiber or titanium grey ... the
‘Carbon-Black’ car will still have
aluminum doors and roof, but
the rest of the body will be kept
in clear carbon fiber while the
‘Titanium-Grey’ car will feature a
shade to emphasize the military
look of this Raging Bull.

VORSTEINER AVENTADOR-V ZARAGOZA
VORSTEINER Aventador-V
Text by Mark Smeyers - Photos by Vorsteiner Nero
Back in November 2013 renowned Vorsteiner introduced
their V-series tuning package
for the Lamborghini Aventador, not only did they add some
amazing carbon fiber parts, but
Vorsteiner Nero also increased
horsepower to 740 ... hence the
Aventador V-LP740 name.
Much like German based DMC
with their 3 different stages for
the Aventador (MV, SV and
E-GT) the people at Vorsteiner
Nero didn’t just call it quits after releasing their first aerodynamic kit in clear carbon fiber ...
a first addition was the amazing
looking front spoiler called the
Zaragoza unit.
The Aventador-V Zaragoza is a very impressive tuning package from Vorsteiner Nero
After an elaborate design
and clay modelling sequence
Vorsteiner first made a mockup
through rapid prototyping that
allowed them to completely test
fit this new unit onto an existing
Lamborghini Aventador before
actually producing the part in
the much more expensive clear
carbon fiber finish.
In fact the Vorsteiner V Zaragoza front spoiler is about 25mm
lower compared to the standard
Avantador bumper, 25mm wider
and a massive 200mm longer ...
10 | Lamborghini Club Nederland magazine | Three2014
more importanly the Zaragoza
spoiler not only looks very impressive, it also improves aerodynamic at the front.
Note that the Zaragoza front
spoiler is a one piece carbon
fiber unit that fits seamlessly
onto the original Lamborghini
Aventador front bumper, naturally best combined with the
extensive kit of clear carbon
fiber parts Vorsteiner already offered for the V12 flagship from
Sant’Agata.
NEWS CORNER
VORSTEINER AVENTADOR-V ZARAGOZA
The beautiful side sills from
Vorsteiner Nero fit onto this new
Zaragoza kit too, which has recently been complemented by
an absolutely magnificent looking rear wing in an innovative
‘hanging’ design, much like the
one we’ve seen on the one-off
Lamborghini Aventador J back
in 2012.

LAMBORGHINI LMP1 IN THE FUTURE ?
LAMBORGHINI LMP1
Text by Mark Smeyers
When it comes to admiring
Lamborghini cars on the track
you only had a few options in
recent years, either these were
factory prepared Super Trofeo
cars competing against each
other in their own series, first
in Europe only, later on also in
Asia and North America ... with
the second option being offered
by world renowned Reiter Engineering who has been building
Lamborghini race cars since
2000 and sold over 100 Bulls for
the track up to now.

For the 2015 Blancpain Super
Trofeo season we’ll be seeing
the brand new Huracan LP6202 race car together with the

the track while the in-house racing department at Sant’Agata,
Squadra Corse, is also working

on a Huracan GT3 edition, that
will in fact share only about 20%
parts with the Super Trofeo car
... also remember Lamborghini
actually had V12 engines being
used in Formula One racing in
the Eighties and before the Super Trofeo series started we had
the Diablo SV-R on the track
that was succeeded with the
very impressive Diablo GTR, but
in the end Lamborghini didn’t
have their own racing program
to compete with other makes on
the track ... that was handled by
Reiter Engineering since 2000
in fact when this German based
company came out with the
Murciélago R-GT that by 2010
would be replaced by the Murciélago R-SV in the GT1 class.
In the more accessible FIA GT3
class it was again Reiter Engineering that would rule the
tracks worldwide for more than
a decade with their impressive
Gallardo based race cars, first

up the original Gallardo GT3
that would evolve into the 2013
Gallardo GT3 FL2 after the face
list seen in Paris for the Gallardo
LP560-4, while for the 2015 season Reiter Engineering has just
unveiled their latest Racing Bull
... the Gallardo R-EX or Reiter
Extenso, a massively wide body
evolution that will wreak havoc
on the track next year.
In a recent interview published
by Top Gear Squadra Corse’s
chief test driver Giorgio Sanna
made a rather bold statement: ‘I
want to participate in Le Mans,
and I want to win’ ... now that
won’t be happening with the Huracan GT3 or a GT1 version of
the V12 flagship ... to win at Le
Mans you’ll need an LMP1 race
car, and that is something we’ve
never seen before from Automo-
bili Lamborghini SpA.
The closest thing to Le Mans
racing for Lamborghini was the
2010 entry of the nr69 Murciélago R-SV from Team JLOC, the
Japanese Lamborghini Owner’s
club ... sadly after 138 laps this
6.5 Liter V12 Bull had to retire
from the race and received a
‘Did Not Finish’ classification
on the 43rd spot of the results
for that year, of the 56 cars that
started at Le Mans that year
only 28 made it to the finish.
So now Lamborghini is considering to enter the 24h de Le
Mans with their very own, internally developed LMP1 race car,
but there is a long way to go before that will happen, and most
likely the first attempt will be in
the LMP2 class to prepare for
the ultimate LMP1 series later
on. Right now Squadra Corse
is finalizing the Huracan Super
Trofeo race car, which in fact
will be the foundation for the Le
Mans adventure.
Note that the Huracan Super
Trofeo has been developed for
racing straight from the start,
this isn’t a converted street version like the Gallardo Super
Trofeo was, the Huracan Super
Trofeo was created next to the
street legal LP610-4 model, in
fact well-known Dallara was
involved in the development
of the new V10 race car ... the
LP620-2 Super Trofeo will cost
a healthy €230,000 (+ taxes) to
buy for the 2015 season and require an additional €170,000 to
compete in the Blancpain Super
Trofeo series.

QUICK LOOK
LAMBORGHINI LMP1 IN THE FUTURE ?
This will get you a purebred
race car in full FIA regulations
setup, a weight loss of 152kg
compared to the road car, rear
wheel drive only (hence the
LP620-2 designation) coupled
to an Xtrac sequential gear box,
reprogrammed ECU and body
panels that only take 5 minutes
to completely remove come together with a 12 stage ABS system and a 9 stage traction control ... and Lamborghini still isn’t
finished with their Huracan race
car ... the hard core GT3 version
that is also in the planning will
take the Super Trofeo even further into the LMP1 dream.
We already know the Squadra
Corse department received
confirmation they will be able
to create race cars until 2018
with the extended IMSA partnership and the road to Le Mans is
open because rumor has it Audi
will leave the LMP1 class to try
their hand at F1 racing, which
is totally out of the question for
Lamborghini in fact, but with
talks about Ferrari being back in
Le Mans in the near future too
it might be a perfect marketing
idea for Lamborghini to have
their own LMP1 car compete
against cars from Porsche and
Ferrari ...

To celebrate the long term relationship between Automobili

has been going on ever since
the Lamborghini 350GT back in
1963, the Sant’Agata exotic super car builder brings an exclusive edition of their V12 flagship
to the market ... the Aventador
LP700-4 Pirelli Edition, available both in closed coupé form
and in open top Roadster model, this new Pirelli Serie Speciale comes in a select palette
of shades only, and all of them
boast a black roof.
The windshield pillars, roof,
shoulder intakes and engine
cover (with the usually optional
glass louvers as standard on
this Pirelli Edition) are finished
in black, either matte or glossy,
and come complete with a thin
red line running from front to
back, a nice Pirelli script is
featured just behind the windshield. The same red line is
also present on the black exterior rear view mirrors and on the
lower part of both the front and
rear air vents ...
The black Alcantara upholstery
continues this red shade inside,
with bespoke stitching and red
piping on the seats and headliner, while the seats also receive
both the Lamborghini crest and
the Pirelli script embroidered in
contrasting red, the door panels and the sides of the seats
receive leather inserts to create a more special feeling while
a ‘Pirelli Serie Speciale’ plaque
will be fitted to each of these
Bulls that leave the assembly

A lot of work still had to be done
before the Countach could go
into even limited production.
The show car was only a prototype and the engine that was installed into it blew up on the first
tests, the car could be saved but
the engine needed too much
work to be made reliable enough
for production, so they returned
to the 4.0-Liter unit.
As with the previous Miura, the
engine cooling was another major problem, with the horizontally
mounted radiators, the engine
immediately overheated. Therefore, they had to change the entire cooling system, switching to
vertically mounted radiators, but
they now grabbed air through
two scoops and two NACA inlets
behind the doors.
26 | Lamborghini Club Nederland magazine | Three2014
Other outside changes were the
installing of an effective windshield wiper system with one
big wiper and a smaller one,
and a rear view mirror was put
on the bodywork. A change that
was less well visible was the
raised ‘bumper point’ to reduce
the nose slope, because at high
speed the steering became very
heavy.

changes the LP 500 was right to

gauges were removed and the

abandoned.
On the 1973 Geneva Auto
Show, the first LP400 Countach
prototype was shown, painted
in a bright red and with a black
suede interior. It showed the air
After the show closed, Bob Wallace used this car to perform
various hard road and track
tests. These tests led to a second LP400 Countach, which
now used the tubular chassis.
Driving lights were built into
the front bumper, together with
air intakes underneath it for the
front brakes, and the installed
windshield wiper was the same
as on the actual production
cars, while the first, red prototype used two wipers.

THE CLASSICS
LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH LP400
This dark green with brown upholstery Countach was shown
to the public on the 1973 Paris
Auto Show. This specific prototype was used to construct the
‘Master model’, a wooden construction that the panel beaters
used to form the body panels
on.
However, some small changed
were still made, the body was
made 13 cm longer, and the
curvature of the rear mudguard
was raised a few centimeters.
During the autumn of 1973,
the first production prototype
was constructed entirely in the
Lamborghini factory; this car
featured the final side window
arrangement using three pieces
of glass instead of the previous
two. In addition, the final interior
styling was carried out; now the
28 | Lamborghini Club Nederland magazine | Three2014
dashboard was equipped with
American Stewart Warner instrumentation. This first production prototype was finished in a
bright yellow with natural brown
upholstery; the dashboard was
covered with dark brown suede.
This was the car that would be
featured in the factory folder
(see illustration) and was shown
on 1974 Geneva Auto Show.
THE CLASSICS
LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH LP400
It took the development team
three long years to convert the
LP500 into a production car,
but by this time, while the first
LP400 Countach was shown on
the 1974 Geneva Auto Show,
Ferruccio Lamborghini sold his
company to the Swiss GeorgesHenri Rosetti and Rene Leimer.
The future of Automobili Ferruccio Lamborghini did not look as
bright as the yellow Countach,
but it was this single model that
would keep the company alive
over many troublesome years.
The first production Countach
left the factory on April 11, 1974
and was delivered to a customer in Milan. Today this first production model of the Countach
is considered to be the most
valuable, these cars were actually among the fastest Countach
ever, even the QV that was introduced during the Eighties
had trouble keeping up with a
finely tuned LP400 model.
After the initial LP400 model
the factory came up with every
boys dream, the LP400 S, wide
wheels arches, massive Pirelli
tires and big wings, some even
at the front or on the roof of the
Countach.

However purists among the
Lamborghini enthusiasts see
the original LP400 Countach
as the only ‘uncluttered’ model
made of this exotic among super
cars, no wings, no wide wheels,
just pure lines … that’s all the
Lamborghini Countach needed
to become the best selling car
Lamborghini saw until then,
these LP400 models are considered to be the most interesting
Countach these days from an
investment point of view, only a
handful remain, and even less
are in perfect condition. A model
that would remain in production
for many years, until in the early
Nineties the Diablo would take
over the reign of the Countach
… the latter still remains the ultimate car for an entire generation of people.
Many students had this Lamborghini featured on a poster in
their bedrooms, with or without
the usual female addition; there
is probably not a single scale
car collector in the world that
doesn’t have at least one model
of the Countach in his possession.

in the internet in the days and
weeks before the 2014 Paris

the new car Automobili Lamborghini SpA was going to unveil, talk about a third model
line, the Huracan Spyder and
the Aventador SV were all over

in Paris when Stephan Winkelmann unveiled the Asterion

For the first time in the 50 years
of Automobili Lamborghini SpA
a hybrid propulsion was shown
in a Lamborghini, and not just
some electric gadgets that were
added.
The Asterion LPI910 features
the well known V10 engine derived from the Huracan LP610-4
34 | Lamborghini Club Nederland magazine | Three2014
pumping out 610hp, but now to
the rear wheels only, while for
the ‘Ibrida’ setup a duo of electric motors have been added
to the front wheels, with a third
electric engine inside the transmission driving the rear wheels
with a combined power output of
300hp ... making the total power
delivery in the Asterion concept
a massive 910hp ... to most
powerfull Bull ever.

The reactions to this completely
new Lamborghini model have
been so positive the idea of actually putting the Asterion into production has been heard around
Sant’Agata recently, studies into
the actual cost of production for
a hybrid system and how to handle the extra weight of the batteries and motors that influence
driving have been ongoing for a
while now.
Public response during the Paris
Motor Show and after that were
mainly positive, but the Asterion
was intended to be a concept car
... a show car to demonstrate a
totally different vision from Lamborghini, this wasn’t an ultra low
exotic super car, instead the Asterion still put the engine in the
middle but the style of the car
was more towards a Gran Turismo.
THE INTERIOR OF
THE ASTERION
LPI-910 IS VERY
LUXURIOUS WITH
WARM SHADES
OF LEATHER AND
FORGED COMPOSITE PARTS AND LCD
DASHBOARD POD
That GT feeling was also evident inside the Lamborghini Asterion LPI910-4 with light shaded leather covering just about
everything in the cockpit of this
Raging Bull, combined with a
warm, darker brown shade of
leather and the Lamborghini
trademarked Forged Composite material the view from the
driver’s seat was immediately
recognizable as being in a Lamborghini, but still on a very high,
luxurious level ... not as much a
sporty, race car inspired feeling.
38 | Lamborghini Club Nederland magazine | Three2014
The
Lamborghini
Asterion
comes complete with three different modes ... the Termico ‘T’
mode which comes down to full
thermal power, the Ibrido ‘I’ mode
which is the usual Hybrid we all
know and the ‘Z’ mode ... a Zero
emission running mode ... when
using only the electric motors
the Asterion can travel 31 miles
with a max speed of 78Mph ...
note that in electric mode the
acceleration from 0 to 100km/h
takes a mere 3 seconds while a
top speed of 199mph is possible
... on batteries!

AN EVEN BETTER

The large lithium battery pack
required for the electric motors
is in fact mounted in the space
normally used for the front propshaft on the Aventador and Huracan, in fact the Asterion uses
the lower section of the carbon fiber monocoque from the
Aventador while the front and
rear subframes are probably derived from the Huracan model
to facilitate the mounting of the
V10 engine in the Asterion.
The entire hybrid development
was kept a secret for several
years by Lamborghini, in fact
people were thinking the Raging Bull would have to revert to
smaller displacement engines
with turbo charging to prepare
for the more stringent emision
rules ... but a hrybrid setup is the
way to go according to Maurizio
Reggioni, Head of Research and
Development at Lamborghini.
Before the first sketch of the
Asterion was even made a hybrid system was installed into a
regular Aventador to be tested
on the open road, how would
the supercar cope with the additional weight and the combination of electric and combustion
engines ... the only way to be
sure was to actually drive it on
the open road and on the track
... remember the black Aventador with the fins many people
imagined being the SV during
testing ... looks like this was in
fact a hybrid Aventador instead.

CONCEPT CAR
LAMBORGHINI ASTERION LPI910-4
With the future looking more
and more like regular cars will
no longer be allowed into city
center the decision was made
to have an autonomy of at least
50km on electric power only
for the new Lamborghini hybrid
while the CO2 emmision would
be lower than 100g/km ... a
combination that requried a set
of motors and batteries adding a hefty 250kg to the overall
weight.
With only the front, electric motors at work the Lamborghini
Asterion can reach a speed of
125Km/h (78Mph) but when the
V10 comes into the equation
the top speed is set at 320Km/h
(199Mph) with acceleration figures of only three seconds from
a standstill to 100Km/h (62Mph)
... that is super car teritory suitable for a Lamborghini.
The exterior styling of the Lamborghini Asterion makes it instantly recognizable as a Raging Bull, but with a Gran Turismo
feel about it, we are still talking
about a mid-engine V10 car but
with the twin electric motors and
batteries up front I guess the
weight distribution is just about
perfect, and the long nose section together with the more upright windshield and the slighty
upward opening doors with very
low side sills make entry and
exit into the Asterion a lot easier compared to the more exotic Huracan and range topping
Aventador.
Even when using the V10 combustion engine only the two front
mounted electric motors aren’t
idling around, they actively contribute to the handling of the As-
42 | Lamborghini Club Nederland magazine | Three2014
terion as they can independently
power the front wheels running
at different speeds and torque
... enter a corner and exiting at
speed will be that much easier
with the help of these electric
units.
VENENO STYLE
TAILLIGHTS SURE
LOOK AMAZING
ON THE ASTERION
TOGETHER WITH
THOSE EXHAUSTS.
CONCEPT CAR
LAMBORGHINI ASTERION LPI910-4
Still according the Maurizio Reggiani this hybrid showcase is the
road to follow for future super
cars, at the moment the idea
of an electric Aventador is nonsense ... such a system would
be too heavy and require batteries way too large to be used in
the hyper exotic range like the
V12 flagship, too much added
weight and too expensive ...
hence the Asterion approach
makes much more sense.
In fact sources have already
mentioned the Lamborghini As-
terion LPI910-4 could make it
into a limited production run in
the near future, and at a price
setting that will be slightly above
the Aventador MSRP.

The Asterion could be listed at
€440,000 (US$ 550,000) in fact,
which will make it a lot cheaper
when compared to the closest
competition from McLaren with
their P1 and Porsche with the
918 while the Asterion would be
more of a GT model instead of
track inspired super car.

different LP500S, a red Quattrovalvole and naturally the swansong of Countach production
... the 25th Anniversary edition,
also finished in the classic red
seen on so many Countach in
the Seventies and Eighties.
You might think what about
the original Countach LP400
narrow body ... well that one
wasn’t present in Rosmalen this
time, keep in mind these early
Countach are extremely rare
and very valuable these days
yet hard to locate, so unfortunately none of the LP400 made
it to Auto Moto d’Italia this time
... maybe next year.
Towards the end of the season
there is still one very important
event being held in Rosmalen,
the Netherlands ... Auto Moto
d’Italia always gathers the best
of the best when it comes to
Italian made art on wheels, and
the 2014 edition was even more
special as it celebrated 40 years
of Lamborghini Countach production, so naturally it was the
place to be on October 18-19
this year.
Now Auto Moto d’Italia is an indoor event but a lot of cars are
also shown around the venue
on the large parking area, all
put together by make and es-
pecially on Sunday under a very
nice autumn sun several exotics gathered to be admired by
thousands of visitors, how about
a Diablo SV with massive SV-R
rear wing or an orange Gallardo
Superleggera and a very nice
white Lamborghini Aventador
Roadster ... all present on Sunday in Rosmalen.
But let’s get inside the venue
first ... as they were celebrating 40 years of Lamborghini
Countach production the large
central display area indoors
showed no less than six different Countach, ranging from the
early LP400S model over three

parked in-between a bright orange metallic Murcielago and a
silver metallic Jarama S.
If the sight of so many rare Bulls
didn’t blow your mind away already you could venture onto
the parking lot around the Rosmalen venue to discover an extremely rare car ... a bright blue
metallic Lamborghini Diablo
SE30 arrived from Germany.
The Diablo SE30 was built in
1994 to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Automobili Lam-
borgini SpA and every unit in
the production run of only 150
pieces was numbered ... but this
blue Special Edition was in fact
not part of the regular production
... this was number P005/150, a
production prototype, complete
with air-conditioning and those
amazing looking magnesium
wheels.
Perhaps even more impressive
was the red Lamborghini LM002
that was shown too, it might not
be as valuable as that Diablo
SE30 but this massive off-road
vehicle was one of the early
models that used the Countach
V12 engine, hence the large
‘humps’ on the engine cover that
hold big air filters to keep the
sand out of the venerable carburetors while burning fuel like no
other ... I for one really like these
LM002 from Lamborghini, so different from anything else on the
market back then.
While I was in Rosmalen a second Lamborghini Jarama arrived
to be parked outside, bright silver metallic over a black interior

with cloth sections and rolling on
original central locking wheels
in Miura style ... very nice, and
extremely classic by now ... perhaps the Jarama is still a bit underrated as a Lamborghini, but
this is a true V12 Gran Turismo
that will put a smile on your face
driving it.
The bigger sister to the Jarama
was present too in the form of
a red Lamborghini Espada, an
early Series II in fact with the
newer dashboard but still on the
Series I central locking wheels
... like those on the Jarama next
to it ... a very nice, albeit large
V12 that offers comfortable
seating for four people ... back
in the Seventies the Espada
was sometimes referred to as
the Italian Rolls Royce by the
way.
mire some of the more exotic
and special cars that were built
in Italy, but also bikes and even
Riva boats were on display
together with several stands
selling scale models and official factory brochures ... more
than enough to keep you busy
for several hours and continue
to enjoy these beauties back
home.
A pair of Gallardo completed the
display outside for now, one of
the very early models was finished in black when it left the
factory but the owner had her
wrapped in a very nice matte
grey 3M film with nicely added
red details in Edizione Technica
style ... a great way to update
your Gallardo and protect the
original paint at the same time.
The second Gallardo was something very special indeed, a
white first series Superleggera
... keep in mind only very few
of these original Superleggera
V10 left Sant’Agata in white, I’ve
heard only three were made,
one being a RHD model, so this
LHD registered in the Netherlands is one of only two in the
world ... that is very rare indeed.

Now you might not expect this, but every year at
the National Oldtimer Festival in Zandvoort, the
Netherlands there is a stand for the Lamborghini
Club Nederland that shows a few classic Bulls from
Sant’Agata, the fact the 2014 edition was held together with Super Car Sunday didn’t change this
fact so I drove up to this famous race track to capture the exotic cars presented to the public.
The by now famous red Lamborghini Countach
Quattrovalvole was present again, this time with a
color coded rear wing instead of the clear carbon
fiber finished one we’ve seen earlier on this amazing looking fuel injected car. Next to it the successor
to the Countach in the shape of the original Murciélago 6.2 model finished in bright orange metallic
with a stunning two-tone leather interior combining
black and orange leather with the stunning Q-Citura
stitching pattern.
Naturally a series of Lamborghini Gallardo were on
show too, going from the yellow car that could be
rented for a stint on the track over a second yellow
early model in pristine condition to a stunning black
metallic LP560-4 edition rolling on the special cross
spoke wheels.

The most impressive Gallardo on the stand just had
to be that white Superleggera edition, one of only a
handfull ever made, this Bianco shade really makes
the clear carbon fiber parts found on the original
Gallardo Superleggera stand out ever so nicely,
combine this with the dark grey, almost black full
Alcantara interior (the entire dashboard is covered
in Alcantara too) and this V10 is a stunning beauty,
especially with those carbon fiber door panels added into the mix!
As the 2014 National Oldtimer Festival was coupled
to the Super Car Sunday celebration there were
many other super exotic cars to be admired further
down on the paddock of the Circuitpark Zandvoort,
how about a bright yellow Pagani Zonda Roadster
... or a series of no less than four Koenigsegg Agera
and even a Ferrari F50 in bright yellow instead of
the usual red.
Now one of the more interesting Lamborghini in the
Super Car paddock was kept covered up for an official unveil later on, sadly with the rain coming in
during the afternoon I didn’t get to capture an image
of it without the cover ... underneath should have
been a bright white Lamborghini Aventador LP7204 Roadster ... but I never got to see it unfortunately.
Still some other amazing Bulls were on display, like
a pristine looking Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary edition in the classic red paint and an intimidating matte black Aventador LP700-4 showing a
stunning BiColore interior with black and red leather
... a very nice combination that probably could only
be topped by the appearance of a bright Verde Ithaca Aventador complete with glossy black roof section.
A magnificent Aventador LP700-4 Roadster finished
in Grigio Estoque came all the way from Belgium
together with a silver metallic Gallardo Spyder, the
latter showing a stupendously beautiful red leather
interior. Another Gallardo Spyder, this time finished
in orange metallic showed a German license plate
while a similar Arancio shade was found on the impressive Murciélago LP670-4 Super Veloce parked
on the paddock ... still an extreme car even if it was
succeeded by the new Aventador.

Star of the event might well have been the arrival of
the white Lamborghini Huracan LP610, the dealer

seen this car on a pedestal during the Viva Italia
event a few weeks earlier, but actually seeing it driving is another thing altogether ... the rear view with
those amazing exhausts still captures my attention.
For car enthusiasts like ourselves the combination
of National Oldtimer Festival and Super Car Sunday
worked out perfectly ... some amazing classic cars

... sometimes a but crowded because so many cars

Tourrit Cochem
5 / 6 juli 2014 - Cochem
Als je vorig jaar al een artikel
hebt geschreven over de door
ons clublid georganiseerde tourtocht naar Cochem, dan is het
natuurlijk een hele eer om het
jaar daarop nogmaals gevraagd
weg zaten;
Ons Nederlands elftal deed het
beter dan verwacht en moest
dus juist spelen op het moment
dat wij in Cochem zouden verblijven;
De weersvoorspellingen waren
uitermate teleurstellend.
Alsof alle kaarsje die een ieder
heeft gebrand voor goed weer
echt effect hebben gehad is het
de zaterdagmorgen dat we naar
Reuver moeten voor het treffen
in ieder geval droog. Een goed
voorteken voor de rest van het
weekend!
58 | Lamborghini Club Nederland magazine | Three2014
een naam hebben gekregen
vertrekken we net als vorig jaar
onder de politiebegeleiding door
de verschillende omliggende
dorpen naar onze brunchlocatie. Op het speciaal afgezette
plein konden de stieren blinken
in de zon die probeerde door te
komen en konden we ook eens
goed bekijken waar een ieder
nou mee gekomen is.
Dit jaar waren er negen Lamborghini’s. Countach was twee
maal in het rood vertegenwoordigd, er waren een grijze en
gele Diablo, een grijze en gele
Murcialago en dan nog een babyblauwe, een zwarte en witte
Gallardo. Een kleurrijke bedoeling dus weer.
EVENT HORIZON
LAMBORGHINI TREFFEN COCHEM
Na onze brunch trekken we weer
onder de politiebegeleiding door
de omgeving. Net als vorig jaar
mochten we weer lekker door
rood scheuren en werden andere merken vervoersmiddelen
tegengehouden om ruimte te
maken voor de Lamborghini’s
om vervolgens aan te komen in
het plaatsje Baarlo.
We krijgen een rondleiding en
sommige clubleden mochten
In Baarlo zit namelijk PS Aero
met een vliegtuigcollectie die
vooral bestaat uit militaire toestellen en enkele civiele passagiers vliegtuigen.
Nog steeds onder politiebegeleiding verkennen we de omgeving en komen terecht in een
dorpsstraatje waar we opeens
60 | Lamborghini Club Nederland magazine | Three2014
Gelukkig was politie snel ter
plaatse omdat deze bij ons
voorop reed. Gelukkig mankeerde de vrouw niets en konden
we nadat de weg weer was vrijgemaakt onze weg verder vervolgen. Bij de grens zwaaien we
onze politie escorte weer uit en
gaan we vol gas naar Cochem.
Tenminste dat proberen we
dan…..
Onderweg raken we elkaar
een beetje kwijt en terwijl een
aantal auto’s de afslag neemt,
waaronder dus wij, zien we
nog net een aantal auto’s
diezelfde afslag voorbij scheuren. Oeps!Gelukkig zijn we met
meerdere auto’s en komen we
dus met meerdere waarschijnlijk
te laat aan. Dat later dat bleek
dus toch wel een half uur tot drie
kwartier later.
EVENT HORIZON

Even de auto parkeren op de
gereserveerde plekken in de
garage onder het hotel en dan
bij de rest voegen. De rest die
netjes Leon had gevolgd zat
winnen.
Ons gejuich was in ieder geval
in het gehele hotel goed te
horen. Ze hebben geweten dat
er Nederlanders waren en dat
het Nederlands elftal die avond
moest voetballen. Wat een enthousiasme met wat chips en
een drankje!
Aangezien Nederland gewonnen had was gelukkig iedereen
auto’s weer konden bijkomen
van die heuvelklimmetjes. Nog
even lekker een terrasje pakken

A SNEAK PREVIEW OF THE NEXT ISSUE
The 2014 Paris Motor Show had a nice surprise in stock from Automobili Lamborghini with the Asterion Hybrid
model we’ve covered in depth in this issue, however rumor has it this GT Bull might just make it into production
in the near future, if it does you will read all about it in our next issue.
A lot of talk has recently been heard about the long awaited Lamborghini Aventador Super Veloce, it might just
be that we’ll finally be seeing this top of the line V12 at the 2015 Geneva Auto Show ...rumor has it the styling
will be aggressive, Veneno inspired complete with center lock wheels and a power boost up to 780hp, but as
far as we know the Aventador SV will not be a limited, numbered edition like the Murciélago LP670-4 was ...
this high end exotic will just become a third edition in the V12 line up next to the LP700-4 and the LP700-4
Roadster (remember the LP720-4 was a limited edition model to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Lamborghini, and she sold out a long time ago)
Next time we’ll also bring you an in depth review of the 2014 Essen Motor Show, being one of the most important indoor tuning shows in Europe, this event also brings a nice collection of classic and very rare Lamborghini
each year, how about a one of a kind Espada and probably the most beautiful Miura SV in Germany ... all that
will be shown next time.
I hope you’ve enjoyed issue Three2014 ... and look forward to 2015 ... happy holidays ...
