The organic material dump site (seaweed,
leaves, branches) used to be open on
Saturday morning. However, it has been
open on Monday mornings for the last
year. The municipal council has decided
to try something new, that is, have the site
be open continuously from Friday noon to
Monday noon. If a statutory holiday falls
on a Friday (June 24, July 1), the site will
then be open beginning Thursday noon. It
is, of course, understood that any
deviation from the bylaw will not be
tolerated such as, dumping illegal
materials. If this occurs, we will return to
regular hours, that is Monday morning. We
rely on your sense of civic responsibility.
million to help us do this and we will inject
more than $300,000 of our own money. It
is therefore a substantial amount. But I
don’t think it will be enough, our roads are
deteriorating faster than we can repair
them. Those that were redone 15 years
ago are in need of repair and also those
done 25 years ago also need to be redone.
There will not be enough money to do this.
The council will have to analyse this for the
next budgets. It will not be an easy matter,
we have had to dip into our accumulated
surplus to balance the last 2 budgets.
Please note that on June 18, the Caravane
Notreau will be in the municipal parking
lot. On July 22, there will be a blood donor
clinic by Héma-Québec. We hope you will
come in large numbers. You are giving the
gift of life.
Summer is near, enjoy and be safe.
On Saturday, August 27, 2016 will be the
toxic waste collection. As in past years, Have a good summer!
there will be containers to collect oils,
paints and chemical products. It will also

be possible to bring electronic equipment
(televisions, computers, radios, etc.) I am
always surprised to see televisions laying
on the side of the road, it would be so easy
to wait for collection day to get rid of them.
You have surely seen the publicity on
television encouraging us to recycle our
old electrical equipment.
Road repair:
No road repair work (asphalt) has been
started this year. The council had planned
for the repair of numerous roads in the
next three years. We received a grant of a

YOUNG PEOPLE’S BIKE SAFETY
As we know, head wounds are the cause of 60% of
fatalities of cyclists involved in an accident. This type
of trauma is also the cause of 30% of
hospitalizations. Sadly, according to our last research
done in 2012, the rate of helmet wear in cyclists
lowers significantly from the age of 10, going from
70.9% in 5 to 9 year-olds old to 41.4% in 10 to 15
year-olds. Even helmets cannot prevent accidents, it
makes the consequences less serious. Continue to
encourage your children or grandchildren to wear
their helmets each time they ride their bikes.
