Maschio offers a full range of rotary tillers tailored to the need of every farmer: from the small machine for
hobby or horticultural growers to the tough professional implement made to cope with all soils and crop
residues! Sturdy structure, the care for details and the low power absorption are common features of all
the machineries.
The heavy-duty barrel type bearings ensure an extended life (+ 30%
over traditional taper roller bearing) and no-maintenance compare to
the spherical ones. Their self-aligning and sturdy structure allow to
keep up with heavy working loads.
The multispeed gearbox with interchargeble gears allow to change
the speed of rotor revolution.
Folding frame equipment are equipped with side cam PTO shafts.
Both shafts avoid damages on side gearbox independently from each
other. This means that one side stops the other can keep working.
Cam PTO shaft is the best protection system available on the market
for transmission: the cam-based system reduces the efforts on
transmission gear box when the admissible load capacity is exceed. It
can hold up a weight untill 2000 kN.
PTO shaft with slip clutch avoid damages to the transmission gearbox.
Compare to the shear pin PTO shaft, the slip clutch reduces downtime
resulting from shear bolt replacement.
Two metal sealing rings floating in position and two elastomeric load
rings provide positive sealing contact allowing lubricant retention and
excluding any contamination (water, mud, dust).

possible to reduce fuel consumption on easiest
soil or break-up harder clods.

The small size rotary tillers are well suited for gardening, horticulture and inter-row soil tillage in orchards and
vineyards. It’s the perfect match of low power tractors. All models have a single speed reduction box and a side oil
bath chain drive with automatic tensioning system.
Except for the “A” model, all the machine in this range can work both in central position or in adjustable offset to
the right side. The telescopic shaft and 3 point hitch mounted on skid make this possible. The “E” model is easily
adjustable with a wheel on left side.

UP TO 80 HP
The “H” and “U” models have all the technical features of upper class rotary tillers, even
belonging to the small machines range. These models can be used in all intensive and
professional applications. Transmission is the key element of these two machines: the
central gearbox is multispeed (feature on demand for model “H”), side gear drive and
waterproof rotor hubs allow to work in harder condition with the minimum stress on
all mechanical components.
The “U” model can be matched to 3
different types of rear rollers (cage,
spikes or packer) or is available in
basic depth skids version.

Waterproof mechanical sealing of rotor hubs is made by 2 metal rings facing
each other and divided by a thin layer of oil. This system isolates totally the
bearings on rotor hubs from external environment. Water, dust and mud are
not any more a problem, making possible also to work in submerged fields!

Models “B” and “C” are a well-known standard of strength and reliability for rotary tillers.
The sturdy structure, the slip clucth PTO shaft and multispeed gearbox make them the
perfect match for average power range tractors. Both the machines are available in
basic skid version or equipped with rear roller. The “C” model is particularly versatile,
as it can work to a PTO regime both of 540 or 1000 RPM.

POWER HARROWS RANGE
MODELS WITH SIDE GEAR DRIVE
UP TO 250 HP
“SC” and “G” rotary tillers series are the solutions for farmers who are looking for the toughest machines
with rigid frame. Both the models guarantee an optimal seedbed refinement from any starting conditions:
on tilled land, on direct preparation or with abundant crop residues. Main feature of the SC model is the
possibility to choose among 3 rotor options: traditional, “Cobra” with straight blades or “Condor” with
tine tools. The “G” rotary tiller is the machine for heavier use, like direct preparation of heavy soil with
high power tractors (up to 250 HP).
The “G” model has a built-in oil cooling system that
works continuously to keep low temperature in the
central gearbox. This means the best reliability on longer
working days. An independent hydraulic system powers
and sends continuously oil to a cooling fan.
Special roller bearings with “barrel” self-orienting
casing are the best solution to have both resistance
(+30% compared to tapered bearings) and to be easyin-use. For their installation no pre-load operation is
required; their self-aligning capacity is the key for an
outstanding reliability in any working condition!

POWER HARROWS RANGE
HYDRAULIC OFFSET ROTARY TILLERS
Side offset models allow to work in comfort during all
inter-row operations under and between the plants in
vineyards or tree crop plantations. The Maschio range
includes 3 models that can satisfy all the requirements
of farmers: AZ, Silva and Diana.
The AZ and Diana models have an independent
automatic hydraulic system with no connection to the
tractor, when the spring rod feeler is moved back by a
stem or a pole all the rotary tiller slides away from the
tree line. No intervention from the driver is required
and once the obstacle is overcame the rotary tiller
goes back in position. Silva rotary tiller is operated by
the driver via tractor hydraulic distributor; the machine
has a 4 speed gearbox.

PUMA FOLDING ROTARY TILLER
Puma is the folding rotary tiller with compact
transport width (< 8 ft.), great working capacity and
extreme agility in all field operations. Cam clutch
safety is installed in the 2 side shafts so the two bodies
of the machine can work independently in harder
soil conditions. Working width range is from 10 ½ to
13 ¾ ft.; a wide choice of rollers completes the offer
of a machine designed for professional farmers and
contractors.
Puma is available with rotor variants “Cobra” and
“Condor”

POWER HARROWS RANGE
PANTERA FOLDING ROTARY TILLER
Pantera is Maschio rotary tillers top of the range. It can
be matched to most powerful tractors up to 380 HP
and larger working width is 20 ft. The structure is so
tough that for PANTERA is possible to operate on most
compact soils with no previous tillage. Central gearbox
is air cooled by an electric fan which is started by a
thermostat when is needed.
RELIABLE TRANSMISSION
The special epicyclic lateral drive with 4 gears matches
excellent reliability and strength in a compact design.
The stainless steel carter contains lubricating oil and
has a structural function for the transmission.

ROLLER CHOICE
The rear roller works to reconsolidate the seedbed immediately after the tillage: this
guarantees a perfect seed contact with soil moisture and thus a uniform germination.
The roller is also the main component to keep an even tillage depth in bigger machines.
Maschio offers a wide choice of rear rollers, suitable for the needs of every farmer on
many models. Furthermore, all the rotary tillers that can be matched to the roller have
the option to be coupled to the Compagna broadcast seed drill, a useful implement
to reduce time and cost of cereal, grass and cover crop establishment. Compagna is
available in 6 ½ - 8 - 10 ft versions and has a metering system totally comparable to
a standard cereal mechanical drill. Its very sharp angle of seed delivery pipes (78°)
guarantees always an optimal seed distribution in any slope condition.

CAGE ROLLER
(Ø ext. 14 ½ - 17 ¾ in.)
It is used on dry loamy soils. It guarantees an excellent refinement
of seedbed in standard conditions. The roller height adjustment
(pin system, one or two jacks, mechanical or hydraulic) defines
the working depth of the machine.
PACKER ROLLER
(Ø ext. 17 ¾ - 19 ⅔ - 24 in)
The packer roller is used particularly for autumn tillage on damp
soils. Its special profile breaks up the soil further, and ensures
optimum surface compaction for sowing.
SPIKE ROLLER
(Ø ext. 19 ⅔ - 24 in)
It is used mainly after deep plough to leave very soft soil after
tillage. It consists in a cylinder fitted with a set of long teeth in
“S” shaped bars, in sets of 4 for each work section, with a pitch
of approx 10 in.
RICE FIELD
(Ø ext. 19 ⅔ in)
Similar to spike roller has a larger diameter of the inner cylinder
(220 mm) and shorter tines. Has a stronger floating effect comparing to spike roller and is well suited after shallow primary tillage.
SPIROPACKER
(Ø ext. 19 ⅔ in)
This type of roller consists of a bar wound in a spiral around a
central axis. It is particularly suitable for light sandy soils.

Many optional features can customize the Maschio rotary tiller to any crop or farmer need.
Pair of depth wheels.
This improves the uniformity in tillage depth for machines with no rear
roller. (Available on models A-E-H-U-B-C-SC-Silva-Diana)
Tungsten carbide blades.
The special material applied on
most exposed surface of blades
reduces tools wear and increases
their lifespan up to 3 times
more. These parts are specially
recommended for application on
most abrasive soils.
Side discs.
ASI hitch.
This optional can transform the
rotary tiller in a real combined
machine, the hydraulic system lift
the seed drill during transport to
keep the centre of mass closer to
the tractor. (Available on C-SC-G)
The discs help access of soil and crop residues into the rotor, avoiding any
clogging or dragging: the result will be a well levelled seedbed. (Available
on H-U-B-C-SC-G-Puma-Pantera)

Rotary tillers are the traditional implement for soil tillage on dry-land or in paddy field; anyway some model
can be very useful in alternative applications like destruction and incorporation of sugarcane crop residues
at the end of a plantation cycle. To cope with this extremely abundant and fibrous material is a real challenge that Maschio rotary tillers can deal with no problems!
