Equipment Deployment : 150 tonne - annually 2500 tonne - every two years Cross border/Mutual Aid - annually Table Top 1000 tonne - annually 10,000 tonne – every three years Three main sources of funding: BOCF – Bulk Oil Cargo Fee Membership Fees (2000+ Oil Handling Facilities, Vessels) Response Fees (equipment/personnel cost recovery) Prince Rupert Kitimat Queen Charlotte City WCMRC has: Shearwater Head office/warehouse in Burnaby Regional facilities in Duncan and Prince Rupert Mobile command centre/office 50+ equipment trailers & 31 vessels located throughout the province Port Hardy Campbell River Powell River Sechelt Port Alberni Nanaimo Duncan Esquimalt 12 vessels strategically located throughout the Burrard Inlet Western Canada Marine Response Corporation customer base is 2200+ members: Oil Companies Tankers Barges Freighters Ferries Cruise Oil Ships Handling Facilities All WCMRC, Spill Advisors and Government personnel have been trained in the Incident Command System WCMRC West Coast Area Plans The Response Organization in conjunction with government entities have developed eight Area Response plans on the west coast of Canada. Each plan describes: Area sensitivities Coastal Mapping Location of Incident Command Post Protection / treatment strategies Local contacts Equipment resources in the area Staging areas/Helicopter landing Pads Vessel launch locations Logistical support services WCMRC’s operational team is comprised of a well-trained, professional staff and contractor network located throughout the province ensuring a quick, safe and effective response WCMRC trains & exercises with over 100 response contractors each year Crew of fishing vessel towing general purpose boom from the deck of Burrard Cleaner No. 17 during annual Basic Spill Responder training.
