LtrADER TOOLS GO-SEE-IT aka ..OUT[NIG" N SCOUTNG aka SEEK-DISCOVER- SHARE Gina Stiemke Wood Badge C-20-07 Bear Preface The following materials has been gathered as a resource tool for Cub Scout Pack Leaders and DenLeaders. It is done with the purpose of helping new Leaders and current Leaders add some spice to their program for the Cub Scouts. This resource attempts to relate requirements at each Scout level to an activity resource. There are abbreviations within the requirement section; Achievement is "4" and Elective is "E". Although these requirements are listed as best as possible, Leaders should consult their handbook as to the fulI requirements. In addition, the handbooks may have more Achievements or Electives that, if done in conjunction with an Activity listed, may be achieved as well. As an example, a Leader can incorporate bike safety and/or maintenance (which is an Achievement or Elective in all levels) along with a Bike Outing on one of the listed BikeÆIike trails Activify. Before you hit the trail with your Scouts, there are a few rules and forms that you should be a\Mare of as a Leader. Reference material and forms are: a) Guide to Safe Scouting, b) Cub Scout Outdoor Program Guidelines, c) local tour permits, and d) permission slips for Scouts going without Parent. Don't let this bit of red tape discourage you. It will become second nature as you Search, Discover and Share. This information is valid as of July 2007. i would greatly appreciate any feed back a) rating of the "un-rated" activities listed b) if any of the information c) and updates as to the following: contained in this resource has changed if you have additional comments on a resource d) ifyou have another resource to be added Finally, I would like to dedicate this piece to my son, Luke, His enthusiasm in the Cub Scout program is inspiring and has moved me into becoming involved along with him on this great adventure.
