RICHARD BERTHIAUME: DRUMS/PERC.
Richard has been playing drums professionally for almost
40 years. He was one of the founding members of the
Canadian band The Blushing Brides in 1979 and
continued with them until 1984. They toured extensively
(250-300 shows per year) throughout Canada and the
United States releasing 1 album, 1 EP and 2 singles.
His departure from the band in 1984 gave him the ability
to move to Europe and play extensively throughout
Germany, France, Austria and Switzerland for 10 years
with the German band Hifi Mama and Marty Hall’s
Pride & Joy Blues Band.
Over the years he has been able to share the stage with
some of music’s greats, Buddy Miles, Buddy Guy,
Johnny Copeland, Steppenwolf, Chilliwack, and
more.
Richard continues to play and record throughout Nova
Scotia with a variety of musicians and has been the
Drummer with the Kickin’ Mule Blues Band since 2010.
