Dear Friend,
We are pleased to share that last year Olive Crest continued to deliver
profound and effective solutions for children and families in crisis while
strengthening our continuum of care throughout California, Nevada, and
the Pacific Northwest. At the same time, Olive Crest persisted in advancing
toward our goal of serving 100,000 children and families by 2020.
Having reached our mid-point mark with Vision 2020, it is evident that
Olive Crest will exceed its goal of serving 100,000 children and families. While we are glad that Olive Crest can grow to meet the need, it saddens us
that child abuse continues to increase. This past year there was a 3 percent
rise in child abuse reports nationwide. Olive Crest served more children and families than any other previous year
in our history while upholding the principles of service quality set forth by
the Council on Accreditation (COA). We continue to exceed outcome goals
for our programs while surpassing national standards on safety, well-being,
stability, and permanence.
Olive Crest focuses on prevention through innovative and community-based
programs and services. And with the support of friends like you, we are
breaking the cycle of child abuse and enabling at-risk youth and families
to be healthy, productive citizens in our communities. The following pages show just how your support is helping transform the
lives of at-risk children through the healing power of family. I hope you
will feel a sense of encouragement knowing that your compassion and
generosity have helped change thousands of lives.
Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Donald Verleur, CEO
Olive Crest

those in need.
Thank you
for your ongoing support. Only friends like you can
make stories like this possible…
This year brothers John and
Lucas found their forever family
after spending their early lives
forced to stay in cribs and
neglected. They are thriving
now in a loving home filled with
other siblings and parents who
adore them.
“We really do think
she’s a gift from God.”
– Ella’s family
“I get to sleep in a
big boy bed now
and we have our
own room with
toys to play in.”
– John
This year the Hutcheson
family adopted little Ella
into their home. Ella’s joy is
contagious as she is now able
to be the playful little girl she
was meant to be.
This year April finally found a
stable home with Olive Crest after
a childhood of abuse, years in the
child welfare system and eventually
becoming homeless. With the
support of mentors and coaches,
her future is bright and full of hope.
“So many people really
did not care about me…
Olive Crest mentors gave
me pearls of wisdom and
went above and beyond.”
– Elliot
I’m so blessed to have
all the wonderful people,
like you guys in my corner
to help me understand
“I’m Worth It.”
– April
This year Elliot got his life back
on the right track after experiencing the loss of family and turning
to drugs and alcohol. Just a
teenager, he was so lost… but
now with the help of Olive Crest
mentors he has a job, housing
and is working on his degree.
Interested in getting more involved?
