Diana Wrap By Hannah Cuviello This simple cabled wrap/vest is warm and elegant, perfect for a Fall evening. You can wear it open and flowing, drape it over your shoulders, or complete the look with a decorative shawl pin. Materials: Cascade Pastaza Paints (50%Llama/50% wool, 132 yds/100g); 9 skeins; shown in “ Emerald City” (9930). 1 set US 10.5/6.5mm circular needles (24 inch or longer) Tapestry needle Large stitch holder (or scrap yarn) Shawl Pin (optional) Gauge: 12 sts /18 rows = 4inches in Seed Stitch 3.8 sts/4.4 rows = 1 inch over Chart A repeat. Full chart repeat measures 12.5 inches x 5.5 inches. Note: I recommend blocking your gauge swatch, as this yarn may fluff up with blocking. Finished Measurements: 32 inches/81.3 cm wide x 82 inches/208.3cm long Pattern Stitches: Seed Stitch (over odd number of sts) Row 1: [P1, k1] to last st, p1. Beautifully knit by Linda Lynn, beautifully modeled by Alison Terhune. Row 2: [P1, k1] to last st, p1. Left Cross Cable (over 4 sts): Right Cross Cable (over 4 sts): Row 1 (RS): Knit. Row 1 (RS): Knit. Row 2: Purl. Row 2: Purl. Row 3: Slip 2 sts to cable needle, hold to front, k2, k2 from cable needle. Row 3: Slip 2 sts to cable needle, hold to back, k2, k2 from cable needle. Row 4: Knit. Row 4: Knit. Section 2: Remove next 39 sts from holder and attach yarn with RS facing. Work sts 5-43 of Chart A over these 39 sts for 2 repeats of Chart A, ending on the same (RS)Chart A row as in section 1. Cut yarn. Place these 39 sts on holder. Section 3: Attach yarn to last section of 34 sts with RS facing. Work the last 4 sts of Chart A, work 25 sts in seed st, work Right Cross Cable Chart, p1. Continue as established for 2 repeats of Chart A. Do not cut yarn. Turn, and work row 24 of Chart A across all three sections. Back: Continue working established pattern for 3 repeats of Chart A (roughly 16.5 inches). Second Armhole: Work as for first armhole. Left Front: Right Front: CO 107 sts. Continue working as established for 3 repeats of Chart A. On the fourth repeat, work through row 22. This side will be two rows shorter than the Right Front, however the cables will be symmetrical. Bind off. Row 1 (RS): P1, work row 1 of Left Cross Cable Chart, [p1, k1] 12 times, p1, pm, work row 1 of Chart A (see written chart instructions, if you prefer), pm, [p1, k1] 12 times, p1, Finishing: work row 1 of Right Cross Cable Chart, p1. Weave in all ends and block. Row 2: P1, work row 2 of Left Cross Cable Chart, [p1, k1] 12 times, p1, sm, work row 2 of Chart A, sm, [p1, k1] 12 times, p1, work row 2 of Right Cross Cable Chart, p1. Continue working as established through 4 repeats of Chart A (roughly 22 inches). First Armhole: Section 1: P1, work Left Cross Cable Chart, work seed st to marker, work first 4 sts of Chart A, turn. You will now be working back and forth on only these 34 sts; place remaining sts on holder. Work the 4 sts of Chart A, work 25 sts in seed st, work next row of Left Cross Cable Chart. Continue working on these 34 sts for 2 repeats of Chart A (11 inches), ending after row 23. Cut Yarn.
