THE PAST - FROM THE SILK TO THE PAPER
The intuition behind the industrial project of Marchi Family
1886:
• Start of business activities in the silk spinning in Arzignano (NE of Italy)
• In early ‘900 : 4 silk mills with 500 employees.
19451945-1955:
• Collapse of the silk business and reaction of Marchi Family
• Product Diversification: Purchase of a share of Palladio Tipolitografia
• Conversion of Arzignano plant: From silk mill to paper mill. Up to the “giant” Burgo Group.
THE BIRTH OF PALLADIO
1946
Girolamo Marchi and his sons Antonio, Aldo and Guido, as part of diversification
policy, invested share capital in S.I.T.A.P.
(Società Industria Tipolitografica Andrea Palladio)
During the ’50s the Company develops changing its name in Palladio Industria
Tipolitografica. Specialization in the Pharma sector.
STRENGTHENING & SPECIALIZATION
1980:
Start-up of Dueville plant for the cartons production
Today headquarter of the Group
1996:
Purchase of the second cartons production plant in Thiene.
Expertise in the flexo printing cartons production for OTC and cosmetic sector
DEVELOPMENT AND INTERNATIONALIZATION
2004:
Acquisition of Grafica Zannini s.p.a., since 1967 in the pharma packaging sector, one of
the most dynamic company with a strong attitude to the international business and
product differentiation
2008:
Zannini Pontedera Plant completion.
2011:
Merger of the two companies and start of Palladio Zannini S.p.A.
