You travell to Arlanda airport in different ways, Taxi,
Busses and the Arlanda train. You will find the train
and the airport busses at the central train station.

Car rental
In Stockholm you can find different places to exchange
your money at. One of the biggest is Forex, they have
yellow signs with black text on, so they are easy to spot.
You can find different companies for your car rental,
one of the biggest is Hertz and they have a great
online service at their website www.hertz.se.
Pharmacies
In Stockholm you will find various shops that sell
medical products. These have in common that
they have the Swedish word “APOTEK” in their
name. Apoteket Scheele, near the train station, on
Klarabergsgatan 64 is always open 24 hours a day.

When you´re done, exploring Stockholm´s fashion
stores, you can rest your legs at one of the largest
complex of cinemas in the Nordic countries. Also
don´t miss Hötorgshallen – one of the most popular
food markets in Stockholm.
Major shopping streets
Major shopping streets, such as Biblioteksgatan,
Birger Jarlsgatan, Kungsgatan and Drottninggatan
Gamla Brogatan, is one of Sweden’s most famous
crossroads. This street is more down to earth in its
feeling. It crosses Drottninggatan at PUB. In this
part of town, the old ”Klara Blocks” were then, as
they are now, a glorious mix of clothing stores and
other interesting shops. Famous destinations such
as Impo, Puss och Kram, Salvation, Waterloo and
Sko-Uno made up what was then called Sweden’s
Carnaby Street, but most have disappeared since
that time. In 1987 Clara Arbetarbod closed its doors after being in business since 1948 and the LeeWrangler store became its proud inheritor.
City parts divided by water
Since Stockholm is a city divided by water, it might
prove difficult for first-time visitors to find their way
around the various parts of the city. It is highly
recommended to take a taxi when going from
one place to another. Just stick with the reputable
names like Taxi Stockholm, Taxi Kurir, Taxi 020,
Sverigetaxi and Top Cab. Also, be cautious about
the so-called ”free-riders” who have chosen names
similar to the established taxi companies. A ride

A stone throw away from Stureplan you’ll find Humlegårdsgatan. A delightful street at Östermalm to

in one store
In the heart of the cool neighborhood of Södermalm
called Sofo, you will find this very cozy shop Keramikerna selling the wares of three Ceramic artists, Mia
Blanche, Anna Svensson and Ulrika Ahlsten. Each
with their own distinctive style, you are sure to find
something you love...... in a light Swedish style, modern yet classical, and useful in the kitchen. You may
also see them in action, as everything is made on the
premises. They occasionally offer 3 day classes, check
website for times. They ship worldwide.

together with a big variety of jewelleries. All items are made by us members.
In the three Iris Hantverk shops around town –
Gamla Stan, the city, Södermalm – you’ll find works
created by hand. The bright modern building brings
out the best of traditional Swedish craftsmanship.
Here you’ll find all those things that make life at
home easier. People with visual impairments have
been making brushes using the time-honored techniques of traditional Swedish craftsmanship for more
than a hundred years when Iris opened the first brush
manufacturing shop. Shopping for gifts is easy here.

In the shop 125 Kvadrat you will find exiting handicraft made from glass, ceramic, textile, wood, metal
together with a big variety of jewelleries. All items
are made by us members. In addition to our shop
we also have a gallery. This year we celebrate our
30th anniversary. 125 Kvadrat is located in SoFo on
Södermalm, Stockholm.

Another unique craft shop in Stockholm where you
can find wonderful and comfortable cardigans with
a perfect fit in merino wool with excellent quality is
named Edursdotter. The name comes from the founder Christina Edursdotter. Here in the shop there are
cardigans in more than thirty different patterns and
colors to choose among for ladies, children and
men. It´s a must to visit this shop and try them on!
Isn’t the size well fitted? Are the sleeves too short or
the sweater´s bottom too narrow? Would you like a
collar instead of a hood? They will gladly help you
with a customized order. Everything is produced in
their workroom in Kinna, Sweden by Christina, Eva,
Anna Maria and Gun.
From fabric to fabric
Tygverket (Fabric plant) has two stores in Södermalm
and a web shop. We have an extensive and inspiring range of fabrics and accessories. Thanks to
Krabat makes you happy. In one of the shops, ”matures” customers can satisfy their craving for playful and
creative international design. Delicate candleholders
by Fafner from the island of Gotland and colorful
textiles from Marimekko can be found here. The two
other stores focus on toys made by hand for the “little
ones.” This is not the place to find something for
computer nerds.

If you appreciate modern handicrafts alongside traditional items then you have to visit Svensk Hemslöjd
