Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum on the Bid Form. Failure to do so may subject the Bidder to disqualification. All other provisions of the Bid Documents shall remain unchanged. This Addendum contains a total of 11 – 8½”x11” pages, 2 – 11”x17” page, and 13 – 24”x36” page. GENERAL BIDDING REQUIREMENTS: 1. Pre-Bid Sign-In Sheet a. Attached is the sign-in sheet of who attended the Pre-Bid Meeting on April 22, 2015. 2. AGC 4-Hour Bid Time Limit a. Clarify the four-hour bid time limit as observed by AGC shall be in effect on this project. 3. Project Timeline a. Clarify the intent is to award the project to a General Contractor at the May School Board meeting and for the tennis courts to be completed by August 28, 2015 and the remainder of the project by October 27, 2015. 4. Permit Requirements a. Clarify that the City of Amarillo does not charge a permit fee to the local school districts. Review fee has already been paid and plans are in for review. 5. Testing a. Clarify the General Contractor pays for re-testing in the event of a failure. 6. Printing a. Clarify that printed copies of the construction documents will be provided to the awarded General Contractor and their sub-contractors at no cost. 7. Construction Fencing and Staging Area a. Clarify that a construction fence is required around the entire project site and the contractor’s lay down yard throughout the length of the project. 8. Senate Bill 9 Background Checks a. Clarify that background searches are required on this project. 9. Liquidated Damages and Wage Rates a. Clarify that Liquidated Damages are $500.00 per day past the date of August 28, 2015 for Tennis Courts and past the date of October 27, 2015 for the remainder of the project. 10. Owner/Contractor Agreement & Amendments a. Section 00300 – Competitive Sealed Proposal Response Form a. Replace page 4 of the Competitive Sealed Proposal Response Form with the attached form that adds a line for Additive Alternate No. 001. Black coated fencing – everything associated with fencing system to be coated. 2. Section 01200 – Allowances a. Clarify that the allowance for door hardware is to be included in the base bid and is separate from the Owner’s Contingency shown on the Bid Form. 3. Section 02210 – Grading and Earthwork a. Clarify that the building pad for the field house needs to be installed per information provided on Structural drawings. 4. Section 02831 – Chain Link Fence and Gates a. Clarify additive alternate number one the black coated fencing requires all posts and accessories to be black powder coated as well. b. Clarify that the large posts are to be 6 5/8” nominal size. c. Clarify that the top, bottom, and center rails are to be standard 2” nominal size. 5. Section 02832 – Wind Screen a. Clarify that the windscreen is not to have cuts. The commercial knit of the material is having the 20% to 30% ventilation. b. Clarify that color selection is to be made from Manufacturer’s full color range. 6. Section 04810 – Unit Masonry Assemblies a. Clarify that special masonry anchors are required for use with the Thermax Wall system. Contractor is responsible for quantity and any additional cost. 7. Section 07220 – Exterior Insulation a. Clarify that all seams, penetrations, and any damage to exterior surface must be sealed with a water-resistive barrier seal. Contractor can use WEATHERMATE flashing tape or LIQUIDARMOR-CM. b. Clarify General Contractor and/or Subcontractor is responsible for all system accessories required for a complete system installation. 8. Section 07540 – Thermoplastic Membrane Roofing a. Clarification that paragraph 3.9 is an example of roof warranty. Actual project description should be of the current project being performed. 9. Section 09770 – Special Wall Surfacing a. Add Dur-a-Flex’s Dur-a-Chip as an Acceptable Manufacturer. Color selections to be made from Manufacturer’s full range. 10. Section 10426 – Signage a. Clarify that the exterior building signage is to be internally LED lit with CNC routed aluminum faces with ¾” push thru clear acrylic lettering (“decorated with 3M translucent vinyl graphics”. 11. Section 10513 – Metal Lockers a. Add the attached locker specification to the project. 12. Section 13125 – Non-Elevated Aluminum Angle Frame Bleachers a. Add Sturdisteel as an Acceptable Manufacturer. 13. Section 13210 – Tension Fabric Structures a. Clarify the fabric is to be HDPE mesh. Color selected from Manufacturer’s full color range. DRAWINGS: 1. Sheet C01 thru C12 – Civil Drawings a. Replace the issued drawings with the drawings attached to this Addendum. b. Clarify that only sheets C01, C04, and C05 have revisions. The remaining sheets have been reprinted so that they are to the correct scale. c. Clarify that at the request of the Developer for the upcoming surrounding neighborhoods, the grades have been pushed down and the new Finished Floor elevation of the building is 3660.5’. 500 S. Clarify that the Developer will take the existing excess dirt from the project. Contractor to coordinate with Developer on location to stockpile dirt. e. Clarify that all construction debris must be removed from the property entirely. Sheet A001 – Architectural Site Plan a. Add new site signage wall in landscape buffer between parking lot and sidewalk on Attebury Drive. Refer to attached SKA-001. b. Remove the sidewalks on the West, East, South as highlighted in the attached revised A001. These sidewalks will have to be installed when the streets and curbs are installed at a later undetermined date. Stop the landscaping with a metal edge in the same configuration as the sidewalks. c. Add a magnetic dry erase tournament marker board display with sun shelter, equal to Poligon model SSG 8x9 (S42). Colors to be selected from Manufacturer’s full color range. d. Clarification on the location of the tennis back boards on the south set of courts located half way between the intermediate fence and gate. One on the West fence and one on the East fence. e. Clarify that the 3’ sidewalk around tennis courts and sidewalks inside the tennis facility need to be 5” thick. Everything outside of the 3’ perimeter sidewalk can be 4” thick. Sheet M1 – Mechanical & Plumbing Plans a. Revise gas service to be temporary propane until permanent natural gas is installed with future housing subdivision at a later undetermined date. Refer to attached description and sketch SD-1. Sheet E1 – Electrical Plans a. Clarify that the Contractor is responsible for pulling all special systems wiring and terminations. b. Clarify that the Transformer location needs to be relocated to the west side of the building to be a shorter run for Xcel Energy. All other provisions of the Contract Documents shall remain unchanged. This addendum is hereby made a part of the Contract Documents to the same extent as those provisions contained in the original documents and all itemized listings thereof. Division 6 Section "Rough Carpentry" for wood furring and grounds. SUBMITTALS Product Data: Include construction details, material descriptions, dimensions of individual components and profiles, and finishes for each type of locker and bench. B. Shop Drawings: Include plans, elevations, sections, details, and attachments to other Work. 1. Show locker fillers, trim, base, sloping tops, and accessories. Include locker-numbering sequence. C. Samples for Initial Selection: Manufacturer's color charts showing the full range of colors available for units with factory-applied color finishes. D. Maintenance Data: For adjusting, repairing, and replacing locker doors and latching mechanisms to include in maintenance manuals specified in Division 1. 1.4 A. QUALITY ASSURANCE Source Limitations: Obtain locker units and accessories through one source from a single manufacturer. A. DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING Do not deliver lockers until spaces to receive them are clean, dry, and ready for locker installation. B. Protect lockers from damage during delivery, handling, storage, and installation. C. Deliver master keys, control keys, and combination control charts to Owner. A. COORDINATION Coordinate size and location of wood bases. Wood to be fire treated and CCA if possible. Locker should be double tier. Discuss provision and or location with CM. 1.5 1.6 Metal Lockers 10513 - 1 PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.1 A. MANUFACTURERS Available Products: Subject to compliance with requirements, products that may be incorporated into the Work include the products indicated in the Metal Locker Schedule at the end of Part 3. A. MATERIALS Cold-Rolled Steel Sheet: ASTM A 366/A 366M, matte finish, suitable for exposed applications, and stretcher leveled or roller leveled to stretcher-leveled flatness. 2.2 B. Galvanized Steel Sheet: ASTM A 653/A 653M, commercial quality, G60 coating designation; mill phosphatized; suitable for exposed applications, and stretcher leveled or roller leveled to stretcher-leveled flatness. C. Electrolytic Zinc-Coated Steel Sheet: ASTM A 591/A 591M, commercial quality, coating Class C; mill phosphatized; suitable for exposed applications; and stretcher leveled or roller leveled to stretcher-leveled flatness. D. Fasteners: Zinc- or nickel-plated steel, slotless-type exposed bolt heads, and self-locking nuts or lock washers for nuts on moving parts. 2.3 A. LOCKER ACCESSORIES Interior Equipment: Furnish each locker with the following items, unless otherwise indicated: 1. Hooks: Manufacturer's standard zinc-plated, ball-pointed steel. Provide one double-prong ceiling hook, and three single-prong wall hooks for single -tier units. Attach hooks with at least two fasteners. B. Number Plates: Manufacturer's standard etched, embossed, or stamped, aluminum number plates with numerals at least 3/8 inch high. Number lockers in sequence indicated. Attach plates to each locker door, near top, centered, with at least two aluminum rivets. C. Recess Trim: Manufacturer's standard; fabricated from minimum 16-gauge thick steel sheet, minimum 21/2-inch face width, and finished to match lockers. Fabricate trim in lengths as long as practicable. D. Filler Panels: Manufacturer's standard; fabricated from minimum 16-gauge thick steel sheet in an unequal leg angle shape, and finished to match lockers. Provide slip joint filler angle formed to receive filler panel. 2.4 A. FABRICATION Unit Principle: Fabricate each locker with an individual door and frame, individual top, bottom, back, and shelves, and common intermediate uprights separating compartments. B. All-Welded Construction: Preassemble lockers by welding all joints, seams, and connections, with no bolts, screws, or rivets used in assembly. Grind exposed welds flush. C. Fabricate lockers square, rigid, and without warp, with metal faces flat and free of dents or distortion. Make exposed metal edges free of sharp edges and burrs, and safe to touch. Weld frame members together to form a rigid, one-piece assembly. 1. Form locker-body panels, doors, shelves and accessories from one-piece steel sheet, unless otherwise indicated. 2.5 A. FINISHES, GENERAL Finish all steel surfaces and accessories, except prefinished stainless-steel and chrome-plated surfaces. Metal Lockers 10513 - 2 B. Comply with NAAMM's "Metal Finishes Manual for Architectural and Metal Products" for recommendations for applying and designating finishes. C. Protect mechanical finishes on exposed surfaces from damage by applying a strippable, temporary protective covering before shipping. D. Appearance of Finished Work: Variations in appearance of abutting or adjacent pieces are acceptable if they are within one-half of the range of approved Samples. Noticeable variations in the same piece are not acceptable. Variations in appearance of other components are acceptable if they are within the range of approved Samples and are assembled or installed to minimize contrast. 2.6 A. B. 2.7 A. B. STEEL SHEET FINISHES Surface Preparation: Clean surfaces of dirt, oil, grease, mill scale, rust, and other contaminants that could impair paint bond. Use manufacturer's standard methods. Powder-Coated Finish: Immediately after cleaning and pretreating, electrostatically apply manufacturer's standard baked-polymer finish consisting of a thermosetting powder topcoat. Comply with paint manufacturer's written instructions for applying and baking to achieve a minimum dry film thickness of 2 mils. 1. Color and Gloss: As selected by Architect from manufacturer's full range. GALVANIZED STEEL SHEET FINISHES Surface Preparation: Clean surfaces with nonpetroleum solvent so surfaces are free of oil and other contaminants. After cleaning, apply a conversion coating suited to the organic coating to be applied over it. Clean welds, mechanical connections, and abraded areas, and apply galvanizing repair paint specified below to comply with ASTM A 780. 1. Galvanizing Repair Paint: High-zinc-dust-content paint for regalvanizing welds in steel, complying with SSPC-Paint 20. Powder-Coated Finish: Immediately after cleaning and pretreating, electrostatically apply manufacturer's standard baked-polymer finish consisting of a thermosetting powder topcoat. Comply with paint manufacturer's written instructions for applying and baking to achieve a minimum dry film thickness of 2 mils. 1. Color and Gloss: As selected by Architect from manufacturer's full range. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 A. EXAMINATION Examine concrete bases for suitable conditions where metal lockers are to be installed. 1. Proceed with installation only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected. A. INSTALLATION Install metal lockers and accessories level, plumb, rigid, and flush according to manufacturer's written instructions. 3.2 B. Connect groups of all-welded lockers together with standard fasteners, with no exposed fasteners on face frames. C. Anchor lockers to floors and walls at intervals recommended by manufacturer, but not more than 36 inches o.c. Install anchors through backup reinforcing plates where necessary to avoid metal distortion, using concealed fasteners. D. Fit exposed connections of trim, fillers, and closures accurately together to form tight, hairline joints, with concealed fasteners and splice plates. Metal Lockers 10513 - 3 1. Attach recess trim to recessed lockers with concealed clips. E. Attach boxed end panels with concealed fasteners to conceal exposed ends of nonrecessed lockers. F. Anchor locker benches to floors Uniformly space pedestals not more than 72 inches apart, and securely fasten to bench top and anchor to floor. 3.3 A. ADJUSTING, CLEANING, AND PROTECTION Adjust doors and latches to operate easily without binding. Verify that integral locking devices operate properly. B. Clean interior and exposed exterior surfaces and polish stainless-steel and nonferrous-metal surfaces. C. Protect lockers from damage, abuse, dust, dirt, stain, or paint. construction. D. Touch up marred finishes, or replace locker units that cannot be restored to factory-finished appearance. Use only materials and procedures recommended or furnished by locker manufacturer. 3.4 A.
