Box 589 Big Sandy, MT 59520 A [email protected] www.weaverhorses.com It is with great pride that we welcome you to our 17th annual production sale. We are very excited and proud of the horses we are offering for sale. The Weaver family has a long tradition of raising horses. The family came to Montana in 1888 and have been breeding and raising horses ever since. Our brand, X A , was recorded in the Weaver name in 1888 and our grandchildren are the sixth generation to ride horses with this brand. We feel very fortunate to be a part of a business that we love so much. We take great pride in our broodmares and the colts they produce for you, the buying public. We try to raise a horse that is versatile enough for any job you have for him or her. All of the weanlings will be halter broke and registered with the AQHA. I feel this is one of the most even sets of colts we have every offered for sale. A big thank you to our customers as we look forward to seeing and visiting with you on sale day. He is smooth to ride, very athletic and extremely cowy. He is a lot of fun to ride. When Casey rode Starlight on the ranch he said “he rode like a cadillac.” Although Starlight was never shown, his full sister STARLIGHT GEM was shown very successfully in cutting. She won $231,786 and was the 1996 Open NCHA Non-Pro Super Stakes Champion. She was 3rd in the 1995 NCHA Non-Pro Cutting Futurity. GEMS EMERALD is the mother of eight performers with winnings in excess of $319,000. She herself won over $10,000 in cutting. We feel this is hands down Starlight’s best set of colts yet. A lot of the mares are money earners so these colts will perform. Starlight’s colts show a lot of style, have nice heads, good muscling throughout and have that pretty Starlight look. We ride several Starlight colts and they are smart, cowy and easy to be around. We are extremely proud of the GEMS AND STARLIGHT colts, they truly represent the type of horse we like to raise. Merada Ima Boonsmal MERADA IMA BOONSMAL is a pretty bay roan horse with no white markings. He has good withers, bone and a nice little head. He is a super athletic son of PEPTOBOONSMAL. MERADA SITE is an own daughter of FRECKLES MERADA, and she has a LTE of $17,700. This is definitely a cow horse pedigree that has enhanced our program. “Boonsmal” was trained and shown by Gary Bellenfant and he made the finals at the PCCHA Futurity in California in 2002. He ended up 9th out of 325 horses. David and I have shown him throughout his career and he has a LTE of $14,510. We couldn’t be more proud of “Boonsmal.” We have seen his colts well received by the buying public in the last few years. Three times his colts have topped our sale. Boonsmal sires colts with a Merada Ima Boonsmal ridden by Gary Bellenfant lot of bone, great hips and that nice little Merada head. We also are seeing a lot of color out of him, Bay Roan Stallion and this just adds to the package. “Boonsmal” March 25, 1999 #3835499 Mr San Peppy sired the third place Amateur Horse at the Peppy San Badger Sugar Badger NRCHA World Futurity in Reno, NV in 2009. Peptoboonsmal Boon Bar Royal Blue Boon We have ridden several “Boonsmal” offspring Royal Tincie X on the ranch and they are level-headed horses A with lots of cow. Tuf was not shown due to an injury, but when he was ridden and in training he showed great promises. He is extremely athletic, quick to learn April 3, 1999 and these are traits he has passed on to his offspring. Tuf was in training with JD Yates of Pueblo, CO. Tuf N Busy His father, Dick Yates, was quoted as saying, “We X were sorry to lose that colt as a prospect, he had a A lot of talent” - a strong statement for as many good horses as these guys have been around. I was excited when I found CEE BOOGER ROANO. He is the next to last colt sired by the late CEE BOOGER RED. “Booger” is an extremely well-muscled horse. He has good withers, bone and a big hip. He is extremely gentle, well broke to ride, and has been hauled in calf roping. CEE BOOGER RED has sired three AQHA Reserve World Champions in Tie-Down Roping and one Tie-Down Roping Year End High Point Winner. He is the sire of BOOGERS RED HARLEN, owned and ridden by Jerome Schneeberger. Twice he has taken Jerome to the NFR. He is also the sire of BADGER BAD BOY, or “Mr Touchdown,” the horse ridden by Joe Beaver. Joe won two world titles and the Calgary Stampede $50,000 bonus on him. We think you will really like “Booger’s” colts. They are big-hipped, correct and good boned horses. This is the type of horse we like to raise. “Booger” has a gentle disposition and this is prevalent in his colts as well. All aspects of ranch work is done from the back of our horses and all of our horses are raised in big country. Breeding for good, tough horses has always been a part of ranch operations passed down from Bill Young (Una’s Grandfather and Barb’s Father). Our stallions and broodmares are carefully selected by proven pedigrees with an emphasis on speed, cowsense, conformation and disposition. We take great pride in our program and we invite our buyers past and present to give us feedback on the horses we raise. It is our responsibility as breeders to put out there the best horses we can. As a performer, PC MR SUN PEPPY, amassed over $10,000 in barrel winnings in just a single season. We ran “Sunny” in 2001 barrel futurities and with limited training he was a two-time barrel futurity champion, won the prestigious Fizz Bomb Super Horse Award, and place in nearly every event he competed in. “Sunny” is an own son of SUN FROST, the legendary Cowan Brothers’ sire who has produced winner of over $2 million. As performers, Sunny colts are super quick athletes, they have a lot of turn, and they have a real low to the ground kind of running style. We are really getting a lot of repeat buyers on the Sunny offspring and we continue to get great feedback on some “Big Time” prospects that have emerged and on some that will be stepping up as players in the years to come. We received good moisture and consider ourselves very lucky. A lot of our friends are going through a severe drought. We are still experiencing the effects of the last two very cold and wet Springs as we have a lot of mares with later colts and a few more dry mares than we normally have. KellyAnne and Casey are still in Lewistown and have been there for almost six years. KellyAnne is the Director of the Lewistown Public Library, and Casey is the manager of a ranch in the Snowy Mountains. They bought a ranch this past summer so they can run more of their own cattle. Wyatt (9) will be in the fourth grade. He loves to ride and be around the horses and enjoys being able to do anything outside. Avery (7) is a creative little girl and keeps her parents on their toes running her to dance and art lessons. David leases a ranch south of Chinook, MT and helps us on the home ranch. He also has his own cattle and trucking company. Hailey (8) spent the summer with her dad and she loves to ride horses as well. Daniel has continued with his farming and he leases a hay place by Denton, MT. Nancy and I feel very fortunate to have all three of our children close to us and involved in agriculture and ranching. We are proud that all three of our children help us on the ranch and with the horse sale, it continues to be a family operation. This past year I have been involved with the Ranching Heritage Breeders and serve as Chairman of the AQHA Ranching Council. Our first Ranching Heritage Challenge in Fort Worth was a huge success. Getting youth more involved in agriculture is one of our priorities and the AQHA Ranching Heritage Youth Horse Development Program will help youth get started. As an added incentive, if you buy any of our colts in the sale, are between the ages of 9 and 18, and go through this AQHA program, we will let you bring that horse back and sell him as a four or five year old through the sale. Our hope is for these young people to have an outlet for these horses they have worked so hard with. If you have any questions see me at the sale or give me a call anytime. Nancy and I went to Amarillo, TX on July 17-19 because I was asked to serve on the AQHA Hall of Fame Selection Committee. I consider it a great honor and a privilege to serve on such a committee, and look forward to working with many great horse people in the process. I look forward to visiting with all our old friends as well as new at this year’s sale. Nothing compares to getting a letter, e-mail or a phone call from one of our customers and hearing how well the horse is doing and how much they enjoy them. Getting that call is one of the reasons I love the horse business so much. If you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. May God bless each and every one of you until we meet again. - STAN WEAVER Weaver Quarter Horses Stan and Nancy Weaver P.O.
