IRONS / WEDGES
To make the X-22 Tour Irons play even better and feel even softer than their
predecessors, Callaway Golf engineers went about redesigning specific features
to get the results they wanted. The most obvious visual difference is the addition
of the new Notch Weighting, which raises the MOI for better stability. A new
sleeker hosel was also incorporated. The combination of these two features
allowed the CG to be moved lower and more in line with the centre of the face,
generating unique playing characteristics that enhanced trajectory and distance
control with a much higher level of feel. The head shape has been refined with the
thinnest possible topline while still using a 360-Degree Undercut Channel, and the
optimised sole width progression provides better turf interaction.

360-Degree Undercut Channel maximises perimeter weighting by moving

After receiving feedback straight from Tour players, Callaway Golf designers
decided to refine the X-Forged Irons. The end result is precision clubs that let
elite players dissect the course. Forged from soft Carbon Steel, the clubhead has
been redesigned with more bounce and camber and a tighter sole radius. The
thin topline, narrow sole and short blade length allow for excellent workability. The
Flighted CG Design produces strong trajectories and premium distance control
while the new Double Notch Weighting allows weight to be precisely positioned for
optimised performance throughout the set.
