T he water village of Zhujiajiao is just an hour's drive from the busy modern centre of Shanghai, but it feels as if you are entering a whole other world, going 1700 years back in time. The many canals and rivers make this 'Venice of Shanghai' a popular day trip destination. Visitors come to enjoy a boat ride as well as to admire the picturesque traditional architecture. There are 3 more similar water villages around Shanghai, but Zhujiajiao is the best preserved one. Here you will see some unique bridges with high arches spanning across the gently flowing water. The rivers are the main roads as transportation is predominantly by boat. Relax as you take a trip down the waterways and float among willows, temples and gardens. The hectic city life of Shanghai seems much more than an hour’s drive away. refined architecture, made of wood, stone and marble. The Fangsheng Bridge from 1571 is by far the largest. It spans the water with 5 arches and is richly decorated with dragon and lion ornaments. However, there is a lot more to see than just water and bridges: the simple, historical architecture along the many alleyways is also worth a visit. Lined with shops, restaurants and houses, these alleyways also reveal temples and special gardens. The Kezhi Garden consists of 3 parts: the garden itself, an artificial hill and a hall. This is also where you will find the village’s tallest building: 4 storeys with a pavilion on top. The garden, built in 1912, is also known as the Ma Family Garden. What exactly is the Mid-Autumn Festival? M id-Autumn Festival is an inherited custom of moon sacrificial ceremonies. The ancient Chinese observed that the movement of the moon had a close relationship with changes of the seasons and agricultural production. Hence, to express their thanks to the moon and celebrate the harvest, they offered a sacrifice to the moon on autumn days. Chinese Moon Festival is traditionally celebrated on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunisolar month which is in September or October. This year, the Mid-Autumn Festival 2015 is on September 27th. Chinese people will have a two-day holiday from September 26th to 27th. The Mid-autumn festival is the second most important festival after the Spring Festival to Chinese people. Every year, when the festival comes people go home from every corner of the country and the world to meet their family. They would then have dinner with them, admire 13 the full moon and eat moon-cakes. The Moon Cake is the special food of MidAutumn Festival. On that day, people sacrifice moon cakes to the moon as an offering and eat them for celebration. Moon cakes come in various flavours according to the region. Chinese people believe a full moon is a symbol of peace, prosperity, and family reunion. On Mid-Autumn Festival night the moon is supposed to be the brightest and fullest, which is why the festival is also known as the "Day of Reunion" and the "Moon Festival". The Mid-Autumn Festival has a history of over 3,000 years, dating back to moon worship in the ancient Shang Dynasty (1600–1046 BC). Nowadays, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a family celebration and usually many outdoor activities are arranged especially for the event. On the evening of a Mid-Autumn Festival, families stay up late and get together eating moon cakes and gazing at the moon. In Shanghai, the Bund is probably the most popular place to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, partly due to its relatively tranquil atmosphere, and partly due to the many restaurants and tea houses along it. 14 PROPERTIES PROPERTIES 3 15 16 Apartments PROPERTIES The Bay 国信世纪海景 Property ID: GXSJ1-002 District: Pudong Layout: 3 bedrooms Business Center: Century Park and Lianyang Size: 200 Sqm Metro Line: ~ Rental: ¥ 30000 City Castle 远中风华 Property ID: YZFH1027 District: Jingan Layout: 2 bedroom Business Center:Jingan Temple Size: 116 Sqm Metro Line: line1,line2,line7, Rental: ¥ 19000 17 Oriental Manhattan 东方曼哈顿 Jing An Four Seasons 静安四季 Property ID: DFMH9-003 District: Xuhui Layout: 3 bedrooms Business Center: Xu Jia Hui Size: 145 Sqm Metro Line:line1,line3,line4, line9,line10 Rental: ¥ 20900 Property ID: JASJ9018 District: Jingan Layout: 4 bedrooms Business Center: Jingan Temple Size: 180 Sqm Metro Line:line1,line2,line7, line8, Rental: ¥ 32000 18 Lane Houses PROPERTIES Old House on West Yan an Road 延安西路老洋房 Property ID: YAXL688-0001 District: Jingan Layout: 3 bedrooms Business Center:~ Size: 171 Sqm Metro Line:~ Rental: ¥ 35000 Chong Qing Apartment 重庆路老洋房 19 Property ID: CQGY1-0001 District: Huangpu Layout: 1 bedrooms Business Center: Xintiandi Size: 70Sqm Metro Line:~ Rental: ¥ 15000 Middle Fu Xing Road 复兴中路老洋房 Property ID: FXZL408-0001 District: Xuhui Layout: 2 bedrooms Business Center: Former French Concession Size: 80 Sqm Metro Line:~ Rental: ¥ 11500 Tian Ping Rd 天平路老洋房 Property ID: TPL51-0001 District: Xuhui Layout: 3 bedrooms Business Center: Former French Concession Size: 148 Sqm Metro Line:~ Rental: ¥ 26800 20 Serviced Apartments PROPERTIES Shanghai Expo InterContinental Hotel Villa 上海世博洲际服务式酒 店别墅 Shanghai Expo InterContinental Hotel Villa 上海世博洲际服务式酒 店别墅 Property ID: SBZJ1-002 District: Pudong Layout: 1 bedrooms Business Center:~ Size: 109 Sqm Metro Line: ~ Rental: ¥ 45000 Property ID: SBZJ1-0001 District: Pudong Layout: 2 bedrooms Business Center: ~ Size: 242 Sqm Metro Line: ~ Rental: ¥ 65000 Nan Yan Si Ji 南阳四季苑 Property ID: NYSI1-003 District: Jingan Layout: 3 bedrooms Business Center: Jingan Temple Size: 230 Sqm Metro Line: ~ Rental: ¥ 42000 Central view suites Junhao International 骏豪国际 21 Property ID: CVS1-0001 District: Jing'an Layout: 1 bedrooms Business Center: ~ Size: 68 Sqm Metro Line: ~ Rental: ¥ 13500 22 Villas Vizcaya Villa 维诗凯亚 23 PROPERTIES Property ID: WSKY1-0001 District: Pudong Layout: 5 bedrooms Business Center: Green City San Marino Bridge 圣马力诺桥 Rancho Santa Fe 兰乔圣菲 Property ID: SMLN105001 District: Pudong Layout: 4 bedrooms Business Center: Green City and Jinqiao Size: 310 Sqm Metro Line: ~ Rental: ¥ 42000 Property ID: LQSF25-0001 District: Minhang Layout: 5 bedrooms Business Center: Minhang Size: 316 Sqm Metro Line: ~ Rental: ¥ 68000 and Jinqiao Size: 350Sqm Metro Line: ~ Rental: ¥ 35000 Green Valley Villas 绿谷别墅 Property ID: LGBS504001 District: Changning Layout: 4 bedrooms Business Center: Hongqiao Size: 340 Sqm Metro Line: Line 10 Rental: ¥ 36000 24 Joanna Real Estate Shanghai CONTACT US Annie Xu General Manager (Shanghai Office) +86 138 1707 3152 [email protected] Daryl Kellie Marketing Manager +86 139-1693-5731 [email protected] http://www.joannarealestate.com.cn
