Dear Petzl dealer,
As we move into 2015, Petzl's verticality and lighting product lines are
strengthened and enhanced in order to provide pertinent responses to the
needs of outdoor enthusiasts.
In the verticality sector, the SITTA climbing and mountaineering harness, with its
design and its lightness based on WIREFRAME technology, promises to be the
new standard for high-end climbers and mountaineers. For ski mountaineering,
Petzl proposes a unique solution to throw into the pack: RAD SYSTEM, a kit
designed for rappels, crevasse rescue and roped progression on a glacier. And
finally, for securing oneself and progressing along a vertical face, Petzl proposes
two adjustable lanyards, the CONNECT ADJUST and the DUAL CONNECT
ADJUST. This product is complemented by the EVOLV ADJUST, a positioning
device for aid climbing.
In the lighting sector, the compact headlamps from the CLASSIC, ACTIVE
and SPECIALIZED (TIKKINA, TIKKA, ZIPKA, TIKKA +, TIKKA XP, TACTIKKA +
et TACTIKKA +RGB) lines have evolved. Apart from their new colors, you will
discover that these headlamps have significantly augmented their maximal
performances. For example, up to 100 lumens for the TIKKA.

WIREFRAME technology
WIREFRAME technology uses DYNEEMA strands. These
strands are used in the waistbelt and leg loops to optimally
distribute pressure. They replace webbing and foam and
ensure maximum comfort and freedom of movement for the
climber. This very innovative technology gives the harness an
exceptional weight-to-comfort ratio that makes the harness
almost imperceptible. WIREFRAME technology, applied to
a very sleek design with very slim technical lines, is perfectly
suited for the high-performance SITTA harness.
BLUESIGN® approved fabrics
The exterior fabric of the SITTA harness is manufactured in conformity with the independent Bluesign label. Bluesign is
the strictest textile standard for protection of the environment, the consumer and the worker. All aspects of production
related to environment are critically controlled and optimized: use of materials, energy, and water, air emissions, and
the use and manipulation of hazardous materials.

Brightness or burn time: a question of balance

Lumens
Brightness and burn time are two inextricably linked aspects of any headlamp,
regardless of its lighting technology. For a given quantity of energy, increasing the
brightness automatically decreases burn time, and vice versa.
The different technologies used by Petzl allow the headlamp's performance settings
to be optimized for its use.
- to optimize burn time: STANDARD LIGHTING
- to optimize constant light intensity: CONSTANT LIGHTING
- to optimize the power used and therefore burn time: REACTIVE LIGHTING
With STANDARD LIGHTING technology headlamps, brightness
gradually decreases as the batteries are drained. The stronger
the initial light output, the faster the battery is drained and
brightness decreases.

CONSTANT LIGHTING technology allows light output to remain
stable as the batteries drain. When the batteries are almost
drained, the headlamp switches automatically to reserve mode,
with weaker output that prolongs lighting time.

LIGHTING technology adapt their brightness and beam pattern
