Tucson was originally settled by the prehistoric Hohokam Indians and is named after “Stjukshon,” meaning “village of the dark spring at the foot of the mountain. Register by clicking here or go to www.centralfabricators.org Sunday, February 28th 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm: Jeep Rally and Margarita Bar at Tanque Verde Ranch (OPTIONAL) This tour is OPTIONAL and the cost to participate is $155 per person. CFA will invoice all registrants for their participation On a desert rally, each Jeep forms a team to navigate the trail, answer desert trivia questions, find fool’s gold and other artifacts, and compete in such events as archery, roping and horseshoe pitching, while attempting to keep an average time and find the trail boss at the finish line. See the natural wonders of the Sonora Desert accessible only by a four wheel open air Jeep. The jeep continues until all clues are solved and all desert items are found. Following the rally will be a stop at the Margarita Bar to celebrate your team’s success. 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm Mill Dinner, Tanque Verde Ranch Join us for an outdoor reception and then dinner at the fabulous Tanque Verde Ranch. The Biosphere 2 facility serves as a laboratory for controlled scientific studies, an arena for scientific discovery and discussion, and a far-reaching provider of public education. Its mission is to serve as a center for research, outreach, teaching, and life-long learning about Earth, its living systems, and its place in the universe; to catalyze interdisciplinary thinking and understanding about Earth and its future; to be an adaptive tool for Earth education and outreach to industry, government, and the public; and to distil issues related to Earth systems planning and management for use by policymakers, students and the public. CFA will provide transportation to and from the Biosphere. We will most likely have a tour of the Biosphere from the architect and the fabricator.
