V-Atak is an audio/video label, Night On Earth is an audio label.
"Tzii - Rotten Friendship" arises from the encounter between Robin Kobrynski (aka RKO)
and Eric Desjeux (aka Tzii), respective founders of these two labels.
For the Tzii project ten year anniversary, ten visual artists and thirteen music projects
were invited to inspire themselves from his work or to reinterpret it through films and
remixes, all gathered together on a DVD and a CD.
The DVD was the opportunity to express in images Tzii's dark and immersive music,
strongly influenced by film-makers such as Lynch, Tarkovsky, Anger or by music groups
like Coil, Throbbing Gristle, Non. All ten directors were to create a film based on a definite sound track, a narrative matter inspiring ten singular films. A confrontation
between the artists' own universe and the highly cinematographical tziian tones.
One can alternately discover hastily shot and put together videos, as well as sophisticated
fictions and infographical collages. The purpose was not to give a technical demonstration, nor to follow the current trends of video art esthetics.
The DVD was therefore an ideal medium for this lingering and immersive creation.
The multiple collaborations between musicians and video artists are the very base of the
V-Atak label.
Tzii and Rko have devoted themselves to that practice for many years, working more and
more subtly the connections between our ear and our eye, leading to a synaesthetic
process in the very middle of our cortex.
The CD is the gathering of musicians invited by Tzii to remix his music. Most artists that
have at one time or another mattered in his artistic and personal development are
present on the disk, what justifies the title of this release. A large variety of musicians
results from his heterogeneous friendships and affinities, from ambient to minimal
techno, through harsh noise and hard beat. A CD proving that in music nothing is rigid
and that everything can be subject to infinite reinterpetations, a vision openly claimed by
Tzii within his Night On Earth label.

Synopsis:
Japan is subjected to permanent seismic forces, and nevertheless we find the biggest nuclear
power stations of the world there. What impact could have an atomic incident on the environment in case of earthquake? It is what happen in July 2006, and to understand the authorities such an incident has apparently no side effects... It is what tries to illustrate in a poetic
and dark way " Caresse Automatique ", or the music of Tzii comes to disrupt in a progressive
way a docile and disciplined townscape. Indeed, for lack of questioning the conceptions of
civil security emitted by the government about the nuclear, nevertheless numerous questions remain.
To die from fear or to die from radiations, our fate seems to be a sweet automatic caress.

Synopsis:
At the crossing of the music video and the science fiction movie, " La Deuxième Peau "
plunges us into the journey of a man. Between the madness and the hallucination, the
person evolves in a permanent mutation environment . As in a dream, he trains this
universe for his image with which he will eventually merge.
bio:
In our HD era, where everything is shiny motion design, Nohista likes to put some organic
chaos and living pixels in his work.
Vjiing since 2004 in many underground electronic parties in France but also in Spain, he
works also as a graphist and editor for various french companies .
Inspired by the works of Peter Tscherkassky, Guy Maddin, David Lynch, and other weird
deviant movies, Nohista also made his own videotracks with movie samples, creating a new
powerful soundtrack with frames.
The work is similar as a Dj sampling old sounds, here re-editing the images to build a new
meaning from the original.
Nohista works his videos as a roll of film, doing superimposed frames, cuts, fades in order
to create a new organic video-soundtrack, where the audio and the video become only one
thing.
After becoming a member of the VidioAtak Crew, He has perform his audio-video performance in Canada (Montreal/Ottawa/Toronto), in Italy (Milan) and of course in France.
Nohista is now shooting is own footage and still working on a audio-video performance
where frame and sound are the same and not just illustration to each other.

Synopsis:
Images and sounds collected through Mexico as postcards. Swirling around eclectic scenes
of this country, a camera guides us in the inmost depths of a dolls sanctuary...
The death is only represented by the support of films, discovering little by little the dark
faces of this trip to the country of Mariachis.
Bio:
Rko seems to draw his roots in a chaos theory that he applies to video in a destructive
manner. Opening this century to the european sound of free parties, his experimentations,
as well as those of the radical musicians that are RIPIT and TZii, are a visual, auditive, intellectual and emotionnal exercise of style for both him and his audiences. From this brutal
initiation to a new approach to critical thinking through vjing, he kept an immoderate taste
for vitriolic reinterpretations, espescially cinematic ones. All along the Cinemassaker
project he elaborates an explosive way of intervention onto film narration.
Approaching all subjects in all manners, he searches for new creative ways to imbricate the
works of sound and image.
Brutal and often provocative, open to new experiences and to new human relations going
beyond boundaries, his work is the symbiosis between digital and human and introduces the
concept of moment and ephemeral that one usually finds in live performances. His diffusion goes from museums to DVDs.

Synopsis:
Beasts eating other beasts, streaming ghosts, collective flow, submission desire: a certain
way of humanity.
Bio:
Musician and Director, Tzii began performing in public in 1994 and created in 2001 the
D.I.Y. Label Night On Earth, releasing vinyls and CD-R. Also a member of V-atak and Radon
collectives, he goes in his art beyond genres and labels through different universes without
looking for a definite and precise form but rather for an energy, nourishing himself from
popular European and African culture.
Tzii explore the industrial culture in all forms, playful or introspective, electronic or acoustic, visual or auditive. Industrial in the first way of it, that means: complete and definitive
diversity, nothing is true all is allowed, nothing has been created and everything has been
done so let's do it with no frontiers. He played many live shows in Europe (western and
eastern), Usa, Japan, Africa, Australia And Canada....
also part of some other projects like Solar Skeletons (audio duo with Ripit), Cinemassaker
(audio/video band with the entire v-atak crew), Transit (With Rko), Hathor Kyriarhia (audio
duo with Najah), Lifesteak (an audio/video duo with Rko), Paroxysm Of Anxiety (audio duo

Synopsis:
A digital resurrection of poor dead creatures, which accompany a dark musical flow.
Morphs of dead taxidermy corps tunnel a vision of dead digital eternity.
Bio:
1n0ut is an artist collective that works both collaboratively and individually on a variety of
video and interactive art projects with a focus on generating synesthetic experiences. The
artists mix analogue and digital processes in their work to achieve a perfect aesthetic blend
which can be understood as a reflection upon all of our lives. Cross-disciplinary by nature,
their approaches reach from a self programmed real-time video montage system based on
Robert Praxmarer’s ongoing PhD work to the charming photo stills and composed video
works from Reinhold Bidner. Both like to think in shades of grey - between black and white
- which gives the audience an experience of fuzziness, fault and, despite algorithmic perfection, harmony.

Synopsis:
Evocation of a nightmare where body fluids that rebel against their biological system. The
atrabile, piyuite and blood, recalled antique medicine, or bleeding the body to remember
life..
Bio:
Samuel Huron work as researcher and artist in the field of New Media Arts. He participate
V-Atak with whom he develops projects audio / video real time. He gained experience based
on the analysis of the impact of new information technologies and communication on
society.
For nearly 10 years he participates in carrying out multiple projects in the area. His thinking is moving particularly about the human-machine interfaces, and shape of information.
It takes root in a study of philosophical thought and cybernetics. Specialist protocols
networks and interconnection, it implements this know-how in the field of interactive installations.
Meanwhile, he is a member of Ensad Lab, a research center in Paris.

In a desolated place, loaded with recollections, persistence of the childhood of the director,

Patrice Mugnier surrounded the field of the digital image through a hybrid practice of
supports.
He realizes TV's design (MTV, Al Jazeera Jeunesse, France3), promotional movies for
museum the Museum National of Natural History, installation perms of the Pavilion of the
Arsenal, the films of architecture) and personal projects based on the relation image /
music.
This interest urges him to establish a real-time practice of the digital image.
At the same time, he develops an activity of education within the Superior National School
of the Decorative arts. He melts with Pierre Hénon in 2007, within the Superior Research
cycle Creation and Innovation ( CSRCI) the research group Embellishes with "Images
Temps Réel" ( ITR), the objective of which is to develop digital devices within the framework
of installations and of performances.

The hop-frog kollectiv is a Los Angeles-based collective focused on experimental arts,
political dissent and fever dream realization and are the curators of Thee Dung Mummy
experimental arts gatherings. the hop-frog kollectiv, formed in 2003 as a medium for
experimental artists and musicians to share, create and exhibit their work and has since
become a hub of activity for Los Angeles, national and international emerging artists.
The three core members of the kollectiv are present on this remix of Tzii: Hermit the
Flog, Jeremy Morelock, and Carl F. Off, presented to the world in 2009, otherwise known
as "The Year of the Mexican Cat-Rat". Through affiliations with the Radon Collective and
other artists internationally HFK has been able to realize performances and exhibits in
seven European countries and most of the USA while still maintaining a frequent performance space in Los Angeles. The group continue to maintain a steady output of easterninfluenced music on their label URCK Records.

Stalker, french producer of eclectic electronic projects, compose and play live all around
Europe since 1996. He's been contributing at the beginning of the techno movement in
France in the 90's, with a collective called "Impact-Teknocrates". To be rave organiser
before doing music gives you the chance to play very early, and let you stick to the core
of music: the live performance (especially in that tribal and wild scene). He immediatly
explore different fields in music (techno, hard body music, electro, song writing, breakbeats, experimental, breakcore, rap). His live act performance is a unique artistic process,
with lots part of improvisation on synthesizers & sequencer. Nothing is completely written. No computer on stage. This energy came from the way we dance. Then it becomes
music. This is an ensemble. Today, this is stricly techno and variations.
That remix for Tzii is made to create a paradox between serious industrial music and
ironic voices, darkwave music and light kid song. Voices takes with Ronan masson. Analogue synths and synthesis. And so on.

nowadays.

Umkra, a french noise and break musician active for almost 10 years now, and known
mostly for his vinyl release on the Marasm label. Not exactly uplifting or accessible, abrasive and dark. Made of slowly changing noises, heavy drones, and unexpected beats,
which should appeal to both harsh noise fans and people who still like to find some beats
here and there in their statics. Dense.

Cham meets Tzii in 1994. He released "The B-Coït" in the night on earth 04 compilation
in 2004 and performed live in 2005 with Tzii and Gamaboy. He then finalised his demo
called "des-(in)hibition" in 2006. This remix he made for Tzii could be defined as an
ambient track which could describes a lonely restless wandering in darken swamps.

Nevroz began to organise experimental and multicultural events in 1995 at Toulouse
(France). He creates in 2000 with GVK the breackcore label "Martel en Tête" and in 2001
the ambient label "Mindustry". He begins to compose in the same year. Since then he
played in Eastern and Western Europe and in Canada. When he moved to Belgium, he
created different side projects such as Bombyx, a mix of dark ambient and drone with Me
Cago En Dios from Martel En Tete.

D'incise, born in 1983, is member of the Audioactivity, music & visual collective founded
in 2000 in Geneva (CH). In 2002 he starded to produce different kinds of electronic music,
from dub to electronica, dangerously sliding to the more experimental ways of electroacoustic. His world is made with sound fractures, nevralgic crepitations, melancolic atmospheres and a non-dissimulated
fascination for rust and faded rythms.
After one self-produced cd in 2004, he started to release his music on various netlabels as
Zymogen or Test Tube.
D'incise plays a solo live act, a kind of organic electronica, where he operates fluctuations
suites of rythmic pulsions, simple melodies and noise waves for a destroyed dancefloor.
Beside he practices free improvisation, using laptop, live treatments and various objects
& contact mics, collaborating with few electronic or acoustic musicians.
Diatribes, open duo into freejazz/improvisation, with Cyril Bondi on drums and guests, is
his main improvised project.
He coordinates the Insubordinations netlabel, dedicated to improvised music, and collectively coordinate the Audioactivity netlabel.
