The impression coping for the Steri-Oss Original Non-Hex
implant is used to take an impression of the implant body.
The flat sided titanium impression coping transfers the
thread timing.

Direct Titanium Posts
DIRECT TITANIUM SCREW-IN POSTS
The direct titanium abutment post screws into the implant
body and may be secured with Teflon tape or thread adhesive. The tapered posts can be altered like a preparation.
Grinding on the titanium post should be done outside of the
oral cavity. Fabricate a soft tissue model whenever preparations are made in the laboratory. If the final restoration is to
be retrievable, then consider set screws. A die will refine the
cast threads.

UMA System
UMA ABUTMENT
The UMA Abutment (tissue extension), like the
PME Abutment, is an intermediate component
made to fit between the implant and the restoration. The UMA has a standardized fitting surface, which allows the UMA restorative components to be interchangeable regardless of the
implant type. The UMA Healing Cap protects the
UMA until the restoration is delivered. The
Bridge Tapered UMA Impression Coping trans-

fers the UMA position while the Hex UMA
Impression Coping transfers the hex orientation of
the UMA Abutment. The UMA Analog replicates
the UMA for the model. The UMA Hex or Non-Hex
Plastic Cylinders are used to make frameworks for
bridges or bars. The UMA CAL System is used for
a passive fit technique. For restorations the fit
directly to the implant refer to the Direct UCLA
System for the specific implant type.

PME System
PME ABUTMENT
The PME Abutment (tissue extension), like the
UMA Abutment, is an intermediate component
made to fit between the implant and the restoration. The PME, a tissue extension made by SteriOss, fits directly to the implant. The non-hex
cylinder fits the PME and is fastened with the
titanium .050" hex screw. A Ti healing cap and a
1-piece Ti tapered impression coping are now
available. Two analogs are available, a stainless
steel and a copper analog. The copper PME analog may be used with EDM Spark Erosion
process. For restorations the fit directly to the
implant refer to the Direct UCLA System for the
specific implant type.

IDEAL BAR SYSTEM
There are numerous options for implant bar restorations available today. To
simplify your search, we have selected the most proven and popular systems on this page. For a complete listing of all bar system components,
refer to the Bar and Clip Quick Reference Charts.
Most implant bar restorations involve from 2 to 5 implants. The ideal
implant bar system incorporates a bar and retentive clips in the anterior
section and locking pin attachments distally for support and stability.
The Hader-EDS Bar Master kit is the preferred choice. The CM Gold Clips
may be used as an alternative. The locking SwissLoc NG is the preferred
distal attachment to prevent lift-off and still provide resiliency. The Lew is a
viable alternative.
For Laser Welding Technique, use only titanium bars and posts.

REAMERS
The carbide reamers are used to refine the internal access hole of a castable cylinder. They also
refine the seat for the head of the screw. Each
carbide reamer and Pin Vise are sold separetly.
The Pin Vise will fit all carbide reamers. (E)

LAPPING TOOLS
The Lapping tools are used with diamond polishing
paste to refine the fitting surface of the cast cylinder.
We recommend that you use it not more than 5-6
times. For superior restorations, you may want to use
the 1 micron white diamond lapping paste. (F)

Hex-Loc 3.25
COMPONENTS TO FIT HEX-LOC 3.25 —External Hex
refer to the Branemark RP section of this manual. For 5.0
Hex-Loc compatible components, refer to the Steri-Oss
Replace 5.0 section.
The hex impression coping transfers the hex orientation.
The small diameter 3.25 Steri-Oss Hex-Loc (HL) implant has
an external hex for antirotation. The HL 3.25 components
are not compatible with the 3.8-4.5 or 5.0 Hex-Loc implant
components. For Steri-Oss 3.8-4.5 Hex-Loc components,
