Open 2 Carousel Note envelope flaps so the flaps are facing each other with the Chocolate Chip CS in between. Step 2: Place SNAIL (or Sticky Strip) along the two 6” edges (not scored) of the Chocolate Chip card stock and either moisten the envelope glue or place SNAIL along the glue on both flaps. 3 www.StampingMadeEasy.com Kari Kechter email:[email protected] Scrapbook Satchel Stamp Camp Step 3: Attach the card stock to the envelope flaps, forming a „W‟. This is now the front, bottom, and back of your purse. Step 4: Now you get to have fun decorating! Attach the 5 ¾” square DSP to the front and back of the purse. 4 www.StampingMadeEasy.com Kari Kechter email:[email protected] Scrapbook Satchel Stamp Camp Step 5: For the front, layer the 1”x 5¾” piece of DSP to the Kiwi Kiss 1¼” x 5¾” CS. Wrap the 7” piece of taffeta ribbon around this piece and attach in the back. Slide the 4 ½” piece of ribbon under the first ribbon and tie a half knot (left over right, pull tight). Attach this strip to the front of the purse. Step 6: Creating the purse flap. If desired, use the Pick-a-Petal Classy Brass Template to emboss dots in each of the scallops and to paper pierce the Carousel Note. 5 www.StampingMadeEasy.com Kari Kechter email:[email protected] Scrapbook Satchel Stamp Camp Step 7: Die-cut the large scallop using the Big Shot. Score and fold the Carousel Note and the large scallop down the center then attach them together (it looks better when you score them independently). Step 8: Using the Crop-a-Dile, punch large holes in the flap close to the center fold (be sure the Jumbo eyelets won‟t stick out over the fold). Insert the Jumbo eyelets and set them using the A1 setting on the Crop-a-Dile. 6 www.StampingMadeEasy.com Kari Kechter email:[email protected] Scrapbook Satchel Stamp Camp Handle Optional Step: Attach the 1/3” narrow grosgrain ribbon to the 5/8” wide Chocolate ribbon using Sticky Strip. Step 9: Thread the Chocolate grosgrain ribbon through the eyelets, leaving about 1” inside the flap. Attach the 1” piece to the flap using Sticky Strip. Put Sticky Strip along back half of flap only (front needs to be free so you can open your purse). Attach to the back of the purse. 7 www.StampingMadeEasy.com Kari Kechter email:[email protected] Scrapbook Satchel Stamp Camp Time to decorate the inside of your scrapbook! Step 10: Attach the 5½” x 5¾” pieces of card stock (Riding Hood Red in this picture) to the inside of the envelopes. Step 11: Attach the 5¼”x 5½” pieces of DSP to the card stock you put on in step 10. Attach the 5¾” square DSP (or the 2¾” x 5¾” pieces of card stock) to the center. Step 12: Using the Round Tab Punch (or the 1 3/8” circle punch), punch a notch from both inside edges of the open-end of the envelope. Be sure to punch through all layers – envelope, card stock, DSP. This will be the “thumb hole” to make it easier to reach in and pull out the sliders. Step 13: Using the Round Tab punch, punch 2 tabs (shown here in Kiwi Kiss) and attach them to the sliders (one carousel note and one 5½” x 5¾” Whisper White card stock). Be sure to attach the tabs so that the slider/tab combo will fit inside the envelope (you don‟t want it to stick out and get stuck when you close the purse). 8 www.StampingMadeEasy.com Kari Kechter email:[email protected] Scrapbook Satchel Stamp Camp Now decorate the inside as desired. Have fun! Note: patterns will vary due to DSP paper choices, stamps used and personal preferences. Cool Tip: Use the Scallop Circle Punch to create a photo corner. Insert a corner of a piece of card stock or DSP into the punch, as shown, and punch. You can see the photo corners used on the mats in the picture below. 9 www.StampingMadeEasy.com Kari Kechter email:[email protected] Scrapbook Satchel Stamp Camp Finishing: Attach the thin magnetic snap to the front and front flap (I recommend attaching to the flap first, then mate it with the opposite half of the magnetic and then close the purse – this way you ensure the correct placement of the magnet on the front of the purse). Decorate front flap as desired. Here I used the Scallop Circle punch and layered that underneath the Scallop Square punch – I love how well they go together! 10 www.StampingMadeEasy.com Kari Kechter email:[email protected] Scrapbook Satchel Stamp Camp Dimensions & Quantities Option 2 – Designer Series Paper: For this option, you will use the same dimensions and quantities as listed for option 1, except for where the Carousel Notes are used, substitute the following: Purse Designer Series Paper: 2 identical pieces 8” x 12” Front/Back/Flap 6” card stock circle (or trace the Pick-a-Petal Classy Brass template and cut it out) – your choice of color Purse Inside Card stock: 5 ½” x 5 ¾” for inside slider (your choice of colors) Scoring Guide for Purse Front/Back You are making your own envelopes * Score along the dotted lines and cut along the red lines 12” side 7” 8” side 1” Score at: 2 ¾” 8 ¾” 11 www.StampingMadeEasy.com Kari Kechter email:[email protected] Scrapbook Satchel Stamp Camp Step 1: Cut and score DSP as directed above. Step 2: Fold in and adhere 3 ¼” flap (leave 2 ¾” flap free – this is the “top” of the envelope). 12 www.StampingMadeEasy.com Kari Kechter email:[email protected] Scrapbook Satchel Stamp Camp Step 3: Attach the card stock to the envelope flaps, forming a „W‟. This is now the front, bottom, and back of your purse. Follow the steps as above (starting with step 5) to complete your purse. Since I used DSP as the front and back, I did not layer another piece on top; I let the beauty of the paper come through. 13 www.StampingMadeEasy.com Kari Kechter email:[email protected]
