Volunteer Opportunities
Looking for ways to volunteer
and make a difference? There are
several volunteer activities taking
place during the month of April
right here at CSU! Each event is
unique and guaranteed to be an
experience you won’t forget!
There are several activities every
year put on by the SLiCE office
so feel free to check out their
website www.slice.colostate.edu
for updated event information.
Here are a few of the great
events taking place this month!
CSUnity– CSUnity is an event
where students can reach out to
members and groups of the Fort
Collins community and spend a
day giving back to the place we
all call home. Help elderly
neighbors do housework they
have trouble with, help with the
food bank, or work with several
non-profit groups around the
area. View the events calendar
on the next page for more information!
Ram Welcome Leader– Do
you remember the big carnival
and orientation at the beginning
of the school year welcoming
you as a college student and a
CSU ram? Most people remember Ram Welcome as one of the
highlights of their college career.
Now it’s your turn to be a part
of that experience for freshman
coming to CSU in Fall 2010. Orientation & Transition Programs
is now accepting applications to
be a Ram Welcome Leader this
fall. Ram Welcome will take place
August 19-22nd this year. Click
Project Homeless Connect Summer
Gear Drive 2010
Project Homeless Connect is
a nationwide project
that provides a onestop resource shop
for the homeless or
nearly homeless in
the community. This
year, SLiCE has
planned a Project
Homeless Connect
for the Fort Collins
Community and they need
your help! From now until
April 16th, the SLiCE office
is accepting new and slightly
used donations of socks,
sweatshirts, rain jackets and ponchos, backpacks and daypacks,
and hygiene products
for the resource fair on
April 23rd. Donations
can be dropped off in
the SLiCE office located in the LSC. This
is a great way to help
less fortunate members of
the community and get involved in making a difference!
here to view to application and
apply for this great event!
ASAP Spring ConcertEverybody has heard about
ASAP’s Spring Concert featuring
Pepper and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and here’s your chance to
earn a free ticket to the show!
All they ask for is 4 hours of
your time on April 11th as well
as attending one info meeting on
March 31st in the LSC room
211E or April 6th in the LSC
room 205 at 5pm. Help set up
for the concert during the day
and earn a free ticket for the
show that night!
Bring Spring Inside
It’s spring time! The flowers are starting to
bloom and the trees are getting their leaves
back. You can see signs of new life all
around you, but does your
house or apartment seem
less than spring like? Well
there are things that you
can do even living in a
house or apartment to get
you ready for spring. There
are many plants out there
that do great inside. The
key is finding the right one
and then know the care
instructions for it. Here are a few plants
that do well in apartments: African Violet,
Bonsai Plants, or Paper Whites. Also, you
can visit http://www.gardenersnet.com/
hplants/ for more house plant information
