This is the RWM welcome page. From here it’s easy to get the broadest possible view of all factors that affect the value of investments... It gives the broadest possible view of all factors that affect the value of investments – from real-time data from exchanges covering equities and bonds, through foreign exchange, money rates and worldclass news. Delayed data is also provided for consensus estimates, diary events, equity and bond histories, terms ands conditions. You can also research, analyse and compare funds from all over the world. RWM allows you to view this data in two ways: • • .... using Flexsheets, screens you build yourself... Pre-built screens (Reuters Views) are screens that give you comprehensive data on a specific currency, country, and asset class. Flexsheets are screens you build yourself so that they contain the information you need. To start RWM, open Internet Explorer. If you are connecting via the internet, use: www.reuters.com/wealthmanager If you are connecting via the BT Radianz private network, use: http://reuterstrader.session.rservic es.com/wealthmanager HTTP://http://reuters.session.rservi If you are logging on for the first time, follow the simple 3-step procedure to connect to the service. If you have logged on previously, enter your RWM login and password in the dialogue box to display the RWM window. TIP RWM only works with Internet Explorer version 7 or later. 2 Reuters Wealth Manager ...and Pre-built (Reuters Views) screens that contain all the comprehensive data you need at your fingertips… Pre-built screens When you first start RWM, the Home page is displayed. This gives a general world overview, with major news stories and charts showing the currently active major indices for equities and bonds, plus a key exchange rate. There are more than 30 pre-built screens (also known as Reuters Views), that offer you a consolidated display of the key data available. Using menu commands Reuters Views are displayed in a hierarchical structure, so you can drill down from general to specific information using a combination of are three menu commands available in all pre-built screens and links inside the view. • • • Use the go menu commands for an overview of the world economy, funds, specific countries and all the major indices, bond and currency markets. Use the show menu commands for a more detailed view of the indices, bond and currency markets, equity, bond and currency calculators, fundamental and cashflow ratios, and research. The links in the do menu give you useful actions, such as printing. As you drill down through the hierarchy for information, the menu structure reflects this, enabling you to know where you are in the hierarchy and to navigate accordingly. To go back to the Home page at any time, click here. This is the Reuters View home page. It contains the latest business news, top equities, bond and FX and money market news.... all just a mouse click away. From the go menu you can view.... To switch between Reuters Views and Flexsheets, click here. ... country data. For example, key data for the United States.... … and the country’s top equity, bond and FX information. For example, the key data relating to the DAX index. 3 Reuters Wealth Manager The code for each Reuters View page is displayed here.... Using the command line Alternatively, you can enter relevant Reuters codes into the command line and press Enter to view data on an instrument, bond, FX, index or money market. ... and here (in this example, DE5YT=RR is a 5 year German bond) If the code is recognised, the view is displayed. If the code is not recognised, a Powersearch window is displayed. Use this to search for the required information. For more information, see Searching. You can also select Reuters Views from myStore and save your most frequently used views as shortcuts. Enter your code in the command line... ... and press Enter. Alternatively, select Reuters View from the view menu or press SHIFT+F7 to display the page. For more information, see myStore. Using quotelists and alerts If you have created and saved a quotelist in a Flexsheet, you can view it from a Reuters View by clicking on the go -> quotelist command and selecting the saved quotelist from the dropdown. Pop-out your quotelist from the Flexsheet and click on do -> save as to save your quotelist in myStore. REMEMBER: Click on the button in the top right of the display to switch between the Reuters View and the Flexsheet views. From the quotelist you can view and compare the constituents in detail. To track the movement of an instrument, bond, index or currency, you can add an alert by clicking on do -> add to my alerts For more information, see Alerts. TIP You can easily switch between Reuters Views and Flexsheets which are pages that you build yourself by clicking on the button. For more information on managing panes in your Flexsheet, see the Building your own views and Managing data in Flexsheets and pop-ups sections. 4 Reuters Wealth Manager In your Reuters View, click on go -> quotelist and select your saved quotelist (in this example, My FTSE) from the dropdown.... Right-click on an instrument to display a pop-up... Select view to display key information about the instrument, or news for the latest headlines on the instrument... ...alternatively, select quote or chart to view quote and chart information in a pop-up window. Building your own views (Flexsheets) This is a standard 4pane Flexsheet. It displays quote, chart, news and time and sales information. Click here to select one of the pre-defined layouts. To switch between a Reuters View and your own view, click here. The advantage of building your own screens is that you can see the exact information you require in a screen. 1. 2. 3. To create a blank Flexsheet, click view -> New Flexsheet or press Shift+F12. To create a 4-pane Flexsheet for an instrument, add the instrument to the command line and click view -> Quick View. This Flexsheet displays quote, chart, news and Time and Sales information (where permissioned) in each of the panes. To create a Flexsheet using one of the pre-defined layouts, click on the button. Each layout has a different number of panes available. To clear a Flexsheet, click here. To clear a pane, click here. To add information to a pane, click in the pane (a red border is displayed)... Enter an instrument in the command line (VOD.L) and select the type of information from the view menu. The information is displayed in the pane. To add information to a pane: 1. 2. You can have as many panes as you like in a Flexsheet. Click in the pane to enable it (a red border is displayed) Enter the instrument in the command line, press Enter or select the type of information from the view menu. To resize a pane, click and drag on the edge of the pane. You can add the following types of information to a pane: • • • • • Quotes (single instruments) and Chains (related instruments) Quotelists (your own list) and Portfolios (your own list with holdings and values) Charts (showing price movements) News (on specific topics or instruments) Time & Sales (a log of transactions on an instrument) NOTE You can add and remove panes from all types of Flexsheet. 5 Reuters Wealth Manager This was a blank Flexsheet, but a quote has now been added to a pane. If you reduce the size of the pane, the neighbouring pane increases in size. You can delete a pane by reducing its size to nothing. However, if you reduce the size of the pane by clicking on the outer borders, a new pane is created. Dragging and dropping You can drag instrument codes between panes in a Flexsheet. Here are some examples: • • • • Click on an instrument in a chain and drag onto a chart or quote pane. This updates with the new instrument. Drag an instrument from a chart, quote or news pane into a portfolio or quotelist. View news stories by dragging an instrument onto a news pane. This updates with news on the instrument you have selected. Drag an instrument onto a Time and Sales pane. If you have permissions, data for the current trading day is displayed. In this example, click in the quote pane, hold down your mouse and then drag the display…….. You can use myStore to save your Flexsheets and create alerts for instruments contained in these views. If you mistype an instrument, the Powersearch window is displayed to help you. NOTE You can add multiple views to a pane and display information from a pane in an instant view. For more information on managing Flexsheets and pop-up windows, see Managing data in Flexsheets and pop-ups. 6 Reuters Wealth Manager … into a blank pane. Release the mouse to display the dragged data in the new pane. Instant views Use an instant view when it is more convenient to look at a single piece of information instead of looking at a whole Flexsheet with different information. Alternatively, you can place an instant view in any of the Flexsheets you build yourself. There are no limits to the number of views you can add to a Flexsheet, but a large number can cause performance issues. All the items that you can add to a Flexsheet pane are also available as instant views: • • • • • This is an instant view for a quote. Here is a chart instant view. You can easily include analysis and trend lines. Charts Quotes and Chains News Time and Sales Quotelists and Portfolios This is a chain instant view displaying the constituents and values from the CAC40 index. In the pages that follow, we look at each type. You can use myStore to save any of these items and create alerts for instruments contained in these views. If you mistype an instrument, the Powersearch window is displayed to help you. NOTE For more information on managing Flexsheets and pop-up windows, see Managing data in Flexsheets and pop-ups. This is a news instant view about Vodafone. Click on a headline for the latest information about events affecting the company. Here is a quotelist instant view. You can build your own quotelists or use chains RICs to create the display. You can easily display all the instant views in a single Flexsheet. 7 Reuters Wealth Manager Charts This is a simple chart.... Charts enable you to perform technical and graphical analysis using real-time, delayed or historical data. To display a chart, type the index or instrument into the command line, click on the view menu and select the Chart command. Alternatively, press SHIFT+F10. The chart displays in a pop-up display. This is known as a fully interactive chart and has extensive tools and options. A chart in a Flexsheet is a simple chart with a limited number of tools. To make changes to a chart, the chart must be in fully interactive mode. Managing data Use the following commands to manage data in the chart: • • • • Display data as a line, bars or candles. Display or hide non-trading periods, such as weekends and national holidays. Display absolute or relative values. Select a data type and field type from the drop-downs. Note these depend on the instrument and the type of display. Field types are only available for inter-day charts. To switch between the interactive and simple chart modes, click here. This is an interactive chart... Select the field type, such as Bid, Ask, Earnings and Turnover from the drop-down menu. Enter an instrument here and then click here...... … to display the RICs in this list. To add multiple RICs, hold down the Ctrl button and click on the RICs... .. and click here. All the RICs are displayed in the chart are colourcoded. 8 Reuters Wealth Manager Click here to remove nontrading days. Select the data type (open, close, high, low and volume) from the drop-down menu. You can add up to ten RICs to a chart display and display more than one instrument at a time. It’s straightforward to add trend lines and trend channels to your graph. Select the display type from candle, line or bar. To remove a RIC from the list, click here. Click here to add a trend line. .....click here to add a trend channel. Understanding labels Moving the mouse over the chart displays lots of information. In the corner of the chart, up to 5 key data values are displayed for the data point: open and closing prices, low and high price and volume. Here are some more key values... This vertical line indicates the position of the mouse pointer on the x-axis for the main chart, sub-charts and analysis. This is the closing price... The icon indicates that news within 90 days of the data point is available. The icon indicates that time and sales data within 13 days of the data point is available. ... the values of the data point in the analysis. Right-click in the chart. In the popup menu, click on the show -> news or time and sales commands. This opens a pop-up window. Select from 23 types of analysis for your chart. There are two different types: in-chart and off-chart analysis. You can have up to four analyses on a chart: one in-chart and three off-chart. To remove all analyses, select analysis – none selected from the drop-down. Information about the nearest point is displayed... ... the date of the data point... Select analysis from the drop-down to display an analysis in the chart... …and click here to reset them. …control your analysis with these parameters.... Use this group of buttons to manage your display. Managing the display You can manage the display by: • • • Moving along the x- and y-axis. Using the scroll option to click in the chart and drag the mouse to focus on a particular area. Expanding and contracting chart views and zooming in and zooming out. Alexander’s Filter is an off-chart analysis, displayed below the main chart. Bollinger bands are an inchart analysis, displayed as part of the main chart. For Intraday time periods …. Historical time-series data ...you can view all the data points for up to the previous 5 days. You can add historical time series data to your chart. There are two types of time period you can display: • • 9 Intraday – time periods within a single day. They range from tick to 60mn. Interday – time periods above a single day. These range from daily (year to date and monthly) to monthly (10 years) Reuters Wealth Manager For interday time periods.... ...you can use the start and end date fields for an exact time period and press Enter. This is an example of an instrument (BAY.L) British Airways quote... Quotes Quotes enable you to view price data on a single instrument (BAY.L for British Airways), or an index, (.FTSE displays data on FTSE 100), or pages of information (such as RBM12 for money market operations from the Bank of India). ...a commodities quote for gold (XAU=)… To display a quote, type the instrument into the command line and press Enter or click on the view menu and select the Quote command. Alternatively, press SHIFT+F4. ...a tile for key US spot prices (EFX=)… You can also use a quote pane (or instant view) to display: • • • Tiles – groups of instruments typically used within FX and Money Markets. For example, type EFX= and press Enter for key spot prices. Pages – these are Speed Guides, data from individual contributors and emerging market information. For example, type JAPAN and press Enter for key information codes for Japan. Here are some more codes: EQUITIES, NEWS, REUTERS, MONEY, COUNTRIES and USER/HELP. Key commodities – for example, type XAG= and press Enter for silver prices, BRTfor Brent crude and Clc1= for crude oil (Nymex). ... an index (.FCHI) for the Euronext Paris CAC40... … a Speed Guide for JAPAN... ... and FX and Money Market operations for the Bank of India (RBM12). This chain is 0#.FCHI for the Euronext Paris CAC40 index. A chain displays a set of related instruments, such as futures or overnight deposit rates. A 0# identifies a chain, for example 0#.FCHI for the constituents of the Euronext Paris CAC40 index. To display a chain, type the instrument into the command line and press Enter or click on the view menu and select the Chain command. Alternatively, press SHIFT+F3. These are the constituents of the chain... with prices, percentage and actual changes. This is the latest headline followed by another 14 headlines. Click on a headline to display the full details. To display news, type in the instrument or business area into the command line, click on the view menu and select the News command. Alternatively, press SHIFT+F9 You can use a search filter to find any combination of news topics by clicking on do -> set news filter. NOTE The news you receive depends on the service you are subscribing to. For more information, contact your Reuters representative. For more headlines, click here. To search for headlines on a specific date, click here. Time and Sales Click on a blue RIC link top open a quote service pop-up for the instrument. This is the time and sales data for Imperial Tobacco (IMT.L). Time and sales enable you to view a log of every trade for a selected instrument. To display time and sales, enter the instrument, click on the view menu and select time and sales. Alternatively, press SHIFT+F8. If you have permissions, you can view the instrument during the current trading day. If you do not have permissions, you can only view the previous 13 days’ data but not the current day’s data. NOTE For more information on permissions, see your Reuters representative. 12 Reuters Wealth Manager Click here to view data immediately prior to the data displayed in the pane. Click here to select a specific date. You can view up to the previous 13 days. Quotelists Use a quotelist to create a list of different instruments, rates or index values. You can then select exactly what values you want to monitor using real-time price information and fundamental data. Here is a list of instruments in the quotelist. To modify an instrument, click on the instrument. Edit the code to change the data. To create a quotelist, click on the view menu and select quotelist. Alternatively, press SHIFT+F2. A blank matrix is displayed in the pop-up or Flexsheet pane. • • • To add instruments, click on the first blank code cell and enter the instruments one by one pressing Enter after each instrument. Alternatively, type in a code chain, for example, 0#.FTSE and press Enter to display all the constituents of the chain (in this case the FTSE 100). Drag an instrument from a quote, chart or news pane but not from pop-up windows. Once you have added your data, you can add and remove instruments and field columns, resize columns and change the order of instruments and headers. NOTE The commands for the Quotelist are similar to the Portfolio commands. Portfolios Use a portfolio like a quotelist to create a list of different instruments, rates or index. As well as selecting what values you want to monitor, with a portfolio, you can also track the value of your holdings – both individually and for the whole portfolio – by entering quantity, pricing and currency information. To change the header or instrument order, hold down the Ctrl button, click on the header or instrument (not the code field) and drag to a new location. To sort by ascending or descending order, click on the column header. To search for a specific column, enter the criteria and click on the Go button. All relevant fields are displayed. To add or remove columns, click on the do -> edit columns To insert an instrument, highlight the row below where you want to insert and click on the do -> insert row command. To delete an instrument, highlight the row and click on the do -> delete row command. To delete multiple instruments, repeat the above procedure but hold down the SHIFT + Ctrl buttons. Alternatively, select a header from here and click on the Add button. Enter the Qty/Nom figures and... Use these buttons to change the field order. The selected fields are displayed here. ... the buy price to calculate the market value (last price x quantity expressed in the base currency) and... When you are finished, click on the OK button. ... the P&L in percentage and base currency terms. To create a portfolio, click on the view menu and select portfolio. Alternatively, press SHIFT+F6. All other portfolio commands are the same of those of the quotelist. 13 Reuters Wealth Manager You can view the value of your portfolio in 18 different currencies. To change the base currency, click here and select a currency from the drop-down menu. You can update all the cells with a blacked out corner. The total row sums all the values in the selected (base) currency. To create a pop-up from any Flexsheet pane... click here. Managing data in Flexsheets and pop-ups Flexsheets and pop-ups use similar methods to manage data. In and out of pop-ups To add a pop-up to a Flexsheet... enable the pane where you want to add the pop-up.... You can copy information displayed in a pane so that it is displayed in a pop-up window. Equally, if you have information displayed in a pop-up window, you can transfer the information directly to the highlighted pane in your Flexsheet. If you don’t have any of your own screens open, a new Flexsheet will be opened automatically. …and click here to add the pop-up to the Flexsheet pane. In this pop-up.... the latest quote (VOD.L) has been added... Adding extra panes In this Flexsheet pane, there are more than two views.... To add extra panes (quotes, charts and news) to a Flexsheet pane or pop-up: • • • • If you are adding views to a Flexsheet, first enable the pane. Enter a RIC into the command line, such as VOD.L and press Enter. The instrument quote is displayed in a pop-up window. Repeat the process, adding a second and third quote to the command line. You can now move through the views using the backward and forward • buttons. button to add the Click the information to the enabled pane. To view the previous quote in the pop-up, click on the back arrow button. ...click here to look at the previous one (click on the back button)... From a chart displaying Vodafone, you can view Telecom news and other views. From a pane displaying Imperial tobacco you can view tobacco and beverage news. Context-sensitive navigation Flexsheet panes offer contextsensitive navigation. Use the go and show menu commands to display related information or functions, depending on the data on display in the pane. In a quotelist, right-click on an instrument to view related main and sector indices. 14 Reuters Wealth Manager ...or click here to view the next one (by clicking on the forward button). Alerts Alerts notify you of any market or news events for any RIC. When the event occurs, you are automatically informed by: • • • Email Reuters Messaging (RM) SMS to your mobile phone To use Reuters Messaging (RM) as your alert method, enter your RM address. For SMS, enter your mobile phone number. For emails, enter your email address... There are two types of alert: price and news. To set up, create or view alerts, click on the Alerts icon. A dialog is displayed. To create an alert, enter a RIC for a quote alert and press the add button... Setting up alerts To set up alerts, enter the relevant information for your alert methods you want Reuters to use and click on the set button. Enter the verification code into the dialog for each method that is sent back. … for a news alert, enter a RIC or expression and press the add button. NOTE To receive RM verification, you must be logged in to RM at the same time. This is the latest real-time price information for the RIC. Select your alert criteria from the dropdown and enter your low and high values. You are notified if the values have already been reached. Creating a price alert After set up, you can create alerts by clicking on the Alerts button or by clicking on the do-> menu in a pre-defined, Flexsheet or instant view. Select the delivery method and click on Set to set the alert. Enter a RIC or news expression and click on the add button. • • For a quote, add the thresholds, select the field and the alert methods and press Set. For a news item, just select the alert methods and press Set. All news alerts have a 24-hour expiry limit. Select a delivery method. Only methods you have verified are available. Click here to set the alert. The alert is set and displayed in the dialog. For more alerts, repeat the process. NOTE The email and RM services are unlimited. The SMS service is limited to 30 per month. When this is reached, the alerts default to email. 15 Reuters Wealth Manager The alerts are displayed on the View Alerts dialog. All price alerts have a 90-day expiry limit. Searching Use these links to search for the type of information you require. This example is a name and code search for Volkswagen. Powersearch is a sophisticated but easy-to-use search tool that enables you to find the information you require. To use search, click on the line. This is an equity focus search. Use drop-down menus to select your criteria. At each stage you can see the number of companies and quotes that match a given criteria. icon next to the command From the pop-up display, you can search for the following types of information: • • • • • • • • Name and code Equity, bond and warranty Money and FX Commodities and energy Funds Index member Industry sector News Click here to start the search. Enter your specific details and start your search. NOTE The search window automatically opens if RWM does not recognise the data you enter in the command line. These are the number of quotes and companies that meet all the specified criteria. This is a news search. Use dropdown menus to select your criteria. Understanding results Depending on your search criteria, different search results are displayed. • • • • A simple unlinked result is displayed in black. A simple linked result is displayed in bold and blue. A group of results in blue with links to other search results. A composite result in blue. This has a linked result and a popup option. Click here to start the search. Add a RIC to your search... Use the & and OR buttons to determine how your dropdown selections combine. Click here to start a new search, refine the search or save the search to myStore. A group of results are displayed in blue. Click for links to further search results. Click on further results, to display a new result page. If you click on a result, a quote is displayed if you are searching from a Flexsheet and a market view page if you are searching from a pre-defined view. Depending on your search results, a simple linked result is displayed in blue.... 16 Reuters Wealth Manager ....or a composite result has two options. Either click on the result or right-click to display the result as a quote, chain, news item or chart from the pop-up menu. Find and compare funds The best place to begin is the Searches page. For a custom search, use these top boxes. The classes available depend on the classification scheme you have selected. (You can select more than one class.) The funds search gives you a completely separate area where you can find funds, examine and compare them. There are two ways to get to this area: • • From the do -> menu, click on world -> funds. This takes you to the Home page for funds. To find a fund, click the Searches link at the top. From the search window, click on fund focus. This takes you straight to the Searches page for funds. As you select, the number of funds that match the selection is shown. By default, non-primary funds are also filtered out. Go to step 2 or 3. Select a criterion and add it. For a custom search, where you can drill down by country and category, use the upper part of the Searches page. For a quick search where you know all or part of a company or fund name, use the lower part of the Searches page. In both cases, you get the chance to filter the funds by percentage value or by ranking (by Lipper). Once you have displayed your list of funds, you can view them in different ways Here we have added two criteria – one for ranking and one for performance. View the funds that match these criteria. You can add more funds or market indices for comparison. You can also display research (including holdings and quantitative analysis) on a fund or view a range of charts (including rolling growth, percentage growth and TNA History). Use the Research or Charting links at the top of the Global Funds Screener window to view these. For a search by name, use the lower boxes in the Searches page. View different details – calendar year performance, or performance relative to the Lipper Global Index. Search for a name… Select a company from the dropdown and add it. Check the number of funds found before moving to the next step. 17 Reuters Wealth Manager myStore Use myStore to store and find information that is important to you. myStore is displayed in a separate window which you can choose to hide or display by clicking on the myStore ->Hide/Display myStore command. The Reuters folder contains country and region folders that contain a number of pre-defined screens and subfolders. These may be instant views and Flexsheets (but they cannot be edited). Click on the button to see the screens in the folder that you can use and on to hide the screens. Each screen has a name and an icon. The icon represents the type of service, for example, is a Quote and is a Reuters View. The icons correspond to the commands available from the View menu. To view an item, just click on it. Saving items to myStore To save an instant view, click on the do -> save as command. To save a Flexsheet, click on the Save As Click on do ->save as to display a window. Enter a group name and path for the shortcuts. Add up to ten shortcuts and click on the Save button. The shortcuts are displayed to the right of the Home button. Click on the Save button. Enter a name and path for the shortcuts. Click here to select a different path than the My Favourites folder. Enter a shortcut name and click here to select the pre-defined view, a Flexsheet or an instant view using the pop-up menu. When you have added all your shortcuts, click on the Save button.
