- Good event.- First time, not sure what to expect.- Need to look into bone density
precautions. -Increased awareness, more motivation but still barriers to being active
(tired at work). Next year I’ll bring my sister.
- This was an excellent experience for me and my kids!
Smoothies are something. We have been thinking of doing reminders to update medical
info, general friendliness.
- More advertisement.
- Organized, friendly, informative.
- Realizing the high blood pressure/high BMI, low bone density motivates me to watch
diet, etc.
- How nice and friendly everyone is!
- This event alone won’t influence my patterns.(1)I really appreciate all the work that went
into organizing this event (2) How friendly and nice everybody was. (3) Learning more
about the messy broken world of medical services and how medical services and parks
are missing the transit component. Having free destination-based taxi transit is as
essential as having brochures and websites. (4)Free bone density and blood tests.

Takeaways: Collaboration, it only takes 1 to getting something great started, Team work,
The youth takes the first step, it starts with one person, the sleeping guy still put in effort,
expect other people to solve problem, overlooking the problem, sense of community coming
together, focus on youth and development skills. The problem was defined, and sometimes
the problem isn’t as defined...but we can come around it and find a solution. Challenges
exist, defining the problem is not always as clear as the tree in the road. Combine resources
to move mountains!

Subject: SLCHLC Meeting Notes!
Team,
I hope that this reaches everyone that it needs to! If you see anyone missing, please let me know immediately.
Now down to business:
1. I have attached the current physical activity offerings that I have in the areas that will be served. It sounds to me
that the list is woefully incomplete. Please send me any changes ASAP so that I can send the complete list to the
group.
2. These are the action steps that everyone has agreed to for the next meeting:
a. Charity - Check in with Marilyn, Marla and Corri. Reach out to Joe and Linda to attend the next meeting.
b. Cindy – meeting with Second Harvest on April 8 and will see what opportunity exists about adding
additional senior commodity boxes to be made available at WellHelp
c. Christine – email Carol the Garden Soxx contact for the use of the Farmer’s Market or community
gardens in the SoLoCo area
d. Vanessa- will contact Skateland
3. The next agenda will be the facilitator, possible subsidies for physical activity facilities, and the promotion of the
Farmer’s Market.\
4. Next meetings are April 20th, May 4th, May 18th and June 1st.
Please let me know if I have missed anything! If not, see everyone on April 20th!

How do we want make decisions moving forward? – Rick gave information about using voting or concession
methods to be determined by the discussion rather than deciding ahead of time. The situations will dictate
what methods we need to employ. Group agreed to determine a method of communication for members out
of town for meetings during the summer.
Charity asked for last minute concerns:
Rick asked about the timeline – Christine indicated best to have proposal in 45 days prior to expected
spending. To meet deadline have submitted early August. Board meets every month the 4 th Wednesday of the

is the beginning of August.
