What Adhesive do I use on Clear Scraps Acrylic Albums?
Zip Dry is our recommended choice of adhesive for a
couple reasons. It is solvent based, meaning when it
dries, it creates a “welded” bond. Unlike a water
based adhesive, when this solvent based adhesive
dries, it is unlikely you will ever get it back off. It
dries the clearest we have found, therefore you can
use it on double sided paper without having to worry
to cover the adhesive up on the other side. It works
on all your scrapbooking needs.
Xyron Cheetah. Look at what you can do with adhesive! We
suggest the Cheetah when using any cardstock or patterned
paper you may want to add a little texture too. Look at the
adhesive, yes it will show, but it looks like a glitter pattern
from the other side. Treat adhesive like an embellishment on
this one! Using this tool provides an even flow of adhesive, an
all at once coverage.
Tombo tape runner. Yes, any tape runner will work on Acrylic.
Using this tool, you will want to cover it up from the other side.
You can see how when adhered, you can visually see the adhesive. Tombo does provide a good adhesion, but not that pretty
look on the other side. This is nice to keep around for those
times you know your putting something on other side.
Water based adhesive. Using a water based liquid adhesive, while it is
drying, the water is absorbed into the paper and creates a wrinkled
paper when dried. The water is evaporating from the adhesive to
create a bond, but not without leaving the wrinkles behind. We have
found that when completly dry, over time the paper or embellishment
will pop off the acrylic.
Zots. Love them! We like treat a Zot like an embellishment! Be creative.
Zots stick anything, anywhere and it is impossible to get it back off! We
suggest using them for flower centers (this could make the flower look
wet on the other side. Incorporate this adhesive if you are using Fiskars
Rain Dots, same shape almost same colors and then you could not tell
the difference between adhesive and embellishments.
