A. Check Building Code -- Before deciding on
your new vinyl fence, be sure to check local
building codes and neighborhood deed
restrictions to understand what types and
maximum height of fence you can erect on
your property as well as any property line
setback requirements. Your Shoreline Vinyl
Systems Authorized Dealer can assist you in
planning your new fence so that it will be
code-compliant.
B. Purpose of Fence -- Is your new fence for
safety, security, privacy, and/or beautifying
your property? Based upon the purpose of
the fence, decide if you want a privacy, semiprivacy, pool, picket, or post and rail type of
fence. See pages 6 through 34 for examples.
C. Choose a Style -- Look at the fence styles
available for the category you chose. Decide
the style, options, and accent top(s) that best
suit your needs and unique preferences.
D. What Color(s)? -- Decide the color of your
new vinyl fence. Most styles are available in

for pool enclosure regulations. Shoreline’s Pool Fence styles’ standard height
is 48”, however, these styles are so popular,

or square lattice enclosed by 2” x 6” routed rails. The Harmony uses an assembly of ⅞” x 1½”
Hollow Horizontals through routed 1½” x
1½” Hollow Verticals to form the grid. This
assembly can be custom made to fit many

gates & hardware
GATES & HARDWARE
Matching gates are available for all of
Shoreline’s vinyl fence styles, using either
pocket- or welded-fabrication methods as
single-leaf or double-leaf swing gates with
various security options. Arched gates are
also available for certain styles. Hardware is
available in black or white.
Single-leaf swing gates are offered to fit standard
openings of 3’, 4’, 5’, and 6’, and require two selfclosing hinges and a latch of your choice.
Double-leaf swing gates are available for
standard openings of 6’, 8’, 10’ and 12’, and
require four self-closing hinges, one drop rod,
and a latch of your choice.
