The Department of EConE has organized a Two Day National Level Faculty Development
Programme on “Electromagnetic Field Theory & Transmission Lines” under Technical
Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP-II), during 21-22 February 2014.
Dr. P.Dhanunjayan, Professor, Dept of ECE, Pondicherry University, Pondicherry, and
Dr.K.S.Nayanathara, professor
& HOD ECE, CVR college of Engineering, Hyderabad,
inaugurated the program.
About 40 faculty members from SVEC and various engineering colleges were participated in
this program. Dr. P.Dhanunjayan has delivered lectures on “Vector calculus, Electrostatics
and Magneto statics” and Dr.K.S.Nayanathara
has delivered lectures on “Time Varying
Fields, Wave Propagation, & Transmission Lines”.
The outcomes of the program are as follows:
1.
Have an ability to determine the behavior of static and dynamic fields in all electrical
engineering applications.
2.
Ability to apply Maxwell’s equations to deduce wave equations for describing the
wave propagation.
3.
Ability to apply techniques for the measurement of basic transmission line
parameters.

Level Faculty Development Programme on “Soft Computing: Advances &
Applications” under Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme
(TEQIP-II), during 21-22 December 2012.
Prof. T. Thyagarajan, Head, Instrumentation Engineering, MIT, Chennai and
Dr.G.V.Marutheswar, Professor, Department of EEE, SVU, inaugurated the
program. About 70 faculty members from SVEC and various engineering colleges
participated in this program. Prof.V.S.S.Kumar, Principal, Osmania University
College of Engineering , has delivered a lecture on “Different Perspectives of Neural
Networks and Fuzzy Logic”.
Prof.T.Thyagarajan delivered lectures on Neural Networks, Fuzzy with
Genetic Algorithm and Neuro Fuzzy Systems.
Dr.G.V.Marutheswar delivered lectures on Fuzzy Logic and Applications of
Fuzzy Control.
