CHASE-DURER GOES TO THE TOP OF THE WORLD
World renowned mountain climber, John Rost,
triumphantly summits Mt. Everest
World renowned mountain climber, John Rost, will be only the 35th American in history to reach the summit of the
highest mountain on each of the seven continents. Having
just reached the summit of Mt. Everest on May 27th at
10.30am, he is currently on his way to Russia to climb the
6th mountain in his pursuit to conquer all seven summits.
John will return in time to appear at the CHASE-DURER
exhibit at the JA show in July.
Sponsored by CHASE-DURER, Rost's SPECIAL FORCES
1000 UDT chronograph performed flawlessly in his climb to
the summit at 29,029 feet at wind chill temperatures of 40
degrees below zero, and in constant snow and ice. The
expedition took two months and cost Rost 37lbs of lost
weight. John was one of three climbers to reach the
summit from a total of seven. "Reaching the summit of
Everest was an incredible challenge. It challenges you
(front) John Rost crosses a 200 foot crevasse on ladders tied together
mentally and physically, with a lack of oxygen, extreme
with rope; (back) John and fellow climbers summit Mt. Everest
temperatures and steep terrain," stated Rost. On his final
day to summit, John climbed 20 hours without rest and on supplemental oxygen.
On the summit, John wore another CHASE-DURER watch, the SQUADRON COMMANDER, next to his SPECIAL
FORCES 1000 UDT. "I am going to engrave the back of each Chase-Durer watch I wore on the summit of Mt. Everest
and give one to each of my boys on their 18th birthday" John stated proudly.
The SPECIAL FORCES 1000 UDT features the Swiss ETA CAL. 251.262 quartz chronograph movement with a date
window at 4 o'clock and a 12 hour timing feature. The 42mm case is made of solid black stainless steel and has a
scratch-resistant SAPPHIRE crystal, screw-in crown and screw-down pushers, a unidirectional, ratcheted 0-60 minute
count-up and 360-degree compass heading marker bezel and a tachymeter. It is water resistant to 1000 feet and the
screw-in case back is superbly engraved and SERIAL numbered. The dial has the well known Superluminova advanced
illumination system.
It is CHASE-DURER'S obsession with quality and attention to detail, as so clearly evidenced in the SPECIAL FORCES
1000 UDT and SQUADRON COMMANDER, which allows the industry's finest warranty to accompany all
CHASE-DURER watches. Each watch comes with a 5-year limited guarantee that gives the buyer the satisfaction of
knowing that CHASE-DURER will be there with every purchaser in the unlikely event that any concern occurs. Superb
customer service is in the forefront of the company's policy.
