Slowinski National Park
is one out of 23 national parks in Poland and one out
of 2 maritime parks.
Situation of the Park
Slowinski National Park
is situated in the
Pomeranian province on
the area of two districts
belonging to Slupsk and
Lebork.
The headquarters of the management of SNP
is located in a place called Smoldzino.
The Park’s rank
•
In 1977 SNP was assumed by UNESCO ”The Man
and the Biosphere” programme, which aimed at
creating a global network of biosphere reserves.
•
Another convention important for the SNP’s rank is
”Ramsar Convention on Wetlands” having an
international meaning, especially as an environment
for water birds.
•
The youngest form of protection, which assumed
chosen ecosystems of the Park, is all-European
ecological network Nature 2000.
Nature

On the Park’s area there are dunes
dating back from different periods
that differ in appearance and origin.
The main basins of SNP are
Lebsko and Gardno lakes – the
deepest as far as the the surface of
Polish littoral basins is concerned.
Flora
The area of SNP is characterised by a
uniquely great amount of various habitats.
The Park’s flora encomasses at present:
911 species of vascular plants and 165
species ofbryophytes. There has also
been found about 300 species of alga,
424 species of fungi and 225 species of
lichen.
The main forrest building species are:
Scots pine - 72,8%, silver birch - 12,5%,
common adler - 5,8 %, moor birch - 2,5%,
European spruce - 1,3% and black
pine - 1%.

Animals
The most numerous group of the
Park’s animals are insects; the
approximate sum of known
species is 490.
There, you can also meet grey seal,
harbour porpoise, beaver, otter, fox,
hare, roe deer, deer, boars, wolf,
raccoon dog, badger, bats and plenty
of bird and fish species.
Nature protection
There are 12 areas under a
strict protection in Slowinski
National Park.
The main protected object is
sandbar of Leba which builds a
complex of unique
geomorphological forms and a
place of natural processes
which rebuild the sea shore
dynamically.
Tourist attractions
• Movable dunes with the highest – Lacka Hill (about
42 metres above sea level; moving rate from 3,5 to
around 10 metres per year).
• Slowińska Village Museum in Kluki.
• Lighthouse Czolpino and a nature trail Latarnia
(Lighthouse)
• Kashubians’ Holly Mountain – Rowokol (115
metres above sea level) with an observation tower and
nature path "Rowokół".
• German training ground from World War II’s times at
Leba sandbar nearby Rabki.
• Passenger sailing on Lebsko Lake.
For anglers
Slowinski National Park invites all angling lovers for using
our fishing grounds.
We enable fishing from the shore as well as from a boat at
the following fishing grounds:

Fishing ground : Pustynka
Fishing ground : Rowokol
