LET THE ADVENTURE BEGIN
You’re crouched inside a wooden hut, squeezed into a
corner to minimise yourself as a target. All is silent, save
for the sound of your own breathing - a sound you’ve
perhaps never been aware of. You hear yourself swallow
as your stomach twists itself into another knot.
Your senses are heightened like
never before and you hear other
noises; a whisper, the slightest of
rustles, the cracking of a twig. Your
palms are moist and clammy as
the comforting grip of the butt of
your carbine tightens. Your throat
constricts. Another surge of
adrenaline courses through your
veins. Your eyes stare, searching
the undergrowth. It’s still, then
suddenly trembles. A menacing
masked face stares back. You’re
hypnotised in its glare.
BLAM! The shot whines past your
ear and snaps you out of your
trance. The butt of your carbine
fits snugly into your shoulder as
you draw a bead on your assailant
WHAM! You squeeze off a round
of return fire. You miss, but only
just. You’ve unnerved him and he
breaks for cover, diving to his left.

For a split second he’s fully
exposed, but you’re ready.
BLAM! There is a satisfying
thwack and an explosion of vivid
colour as your shot finds its
target. All around mayhem has
broken out. Yells, whoops and
shrieks fill the air. A deafening
bang, followed by plumes of
thick red smoke. Shots crack
and whistle all about.
This is not an excerpt from
a war correspondent, but
describes a typical few minutes
at Taskforce Paintball site just
west of Cardiff.

Even if you’ve played
Paintball before, aside from
a real battle front, nowhere
has an atmosphere
even approaching that
at the Taskforce site at
Cowbridge.
The site is not a field with a
few crates strewn about; it is
a dedicated Paintball combat
arena. Thirty acres of bunkers, a
village, a real helicopter, 2 bridges,
with adjacent aerial walkways,
a munitions dump, tree houses,
concrete tunnels and many
other features which make for
an exciting, exhilarating and funpacked day out. There’s also a
‘safe area’ where you are able to
rest between games with hot food
snacks and drinks for sale.

WEAPONS & AMMUNITION
At the start of the day you’ll be
issued with all the equipment
you’ll need. Combat clothing, a full
face mask and goggles, protective
head cover and of course your
weapon. All of our guns are
the latest “State of the Art”
Paintball markers, powered by a
compressed air canister, we will
also provide you with an allocation
of paint pellets.
Further paint pellets can be
purchased as can smoke grenades,
paint grenades, and a few other
delightful items with which to
wreak havoc amongst your
‘enemy’.

We’ll keep a running tally of your
ammo usage and tot it up at the
end of the day. The air fills to
run your gun are free of charge.
You’ll be briefed, given some target
practice and then taken out into
the jungle for the fun to really
start.
Each battle takes place at a
different location, you’ll alternate
between attacking and defending,
the game objective which will vary
with each game, will be issued by
our qualified Marshals who are
there to supervise and assist at all
times, they will ensure you are fully
briefed to carry out your mission
within the duration of each
assignment.

SAFETY
When you take a hit, and
you surely will, you’re out
of that particular game, but
it won’t be for long and you
can use the time to recover
and replenish your stocks
before the next game. You
must keep you mask and
goggles on at all times when
a game is in progress, until
you are back inside the safe
area.

The ground is uneven and on
occasions slippery, therefore
strong outdoor boots or shoes are
recommended, those with good
ankle support and good tread,
rugby or football boots give good
grip.You will be fully briefed on all
safety aspects at the start of the
day but for now bear in mind that
safety is of the utmost importance
and please follow our instructions.
We want you to have fun and
you most definitely will; we also
want you to know that playing at
Taskforce is not at all dangerous as
long as you stick to the rules.
Taskforce incorporates some of
this exciting and rapidly growing
sport’s most innovative features.
We believe our undulating
woodland site is one of the best
in the country. A view shared by
many visiting Paintball combat
‘veterans’.
Whether you are looking for a
fun day out with friends, require
a specialised tailored corporate
event, or are aged between 11
and 16 and want to join in one of
our dedicated junior games we
can guarantee you more fun and
excitement that you’ve perhaps
ever had in a day before - your
enjoyment is our priority.

JUNIOR EVENTS
ADULT EVENTS
Young Guns days specifically for 8 to 16 year olds
together with older family members (Mums &
Dads) are held every weekend and during school
holidays. Players aged 16 and over can join in with
adult games, but must have a signed parental
consent form.
You can book for a group of any size to play at
Taskforce Paintball, a game normally consists of
about 30 players, so if you’ve only got a small group
or it’s just yourself we will join you in with others
of a similar experience. Most games are played on
weekends, however if you wish to play during the
week we are happy to accommodate a day of your
choice.
If your booking is being made for a birthday, we
can present a free certificate, please let us know
the details at the time of booking.
DEPOSITS
A non refundable deposit of £10 per person is
required 2 – 3 weeks in advance of your game. If
you are booking within 7 to 10 days, an immediate
deposit will be required. Deposits can be paid by
leading credit or debit cards on line or over the
telephone.

During the lighter summer months we are able to
offer games after work to play until dusk. The earlier
you can arrive the more games we are able to get
in for you. (Minimum player numbers may apply for
weekday and evening games). A free certificate can
be presented for special occasions (birthday, stag, hen
or other special occasion) please let us know the
details when you book.

Take the M4 to junction 35 and
follow the A473 towards Bridgend,
at the third roundabout take the
A48 towards Cowbridge, continue
through the 50 mile an hour
limit and staggered crossroads at
Pentre Meyrick, the road drops
down a hill at the bottom of the
hill take a left hand turning (brown
tourism signs are on this junction
to Taskforce) the entrance to the
site is the first gate on the right
hand side. Travel along the stone
track to the car park where a
Taskforce representative will meet
you. If the car park is unattended
do not enter the woodlands
without goggles on as games may
be in progress.
FROM CARDIFF
From the M4 junction 33, take
the A4232 and leave at the first
junction (Culverhouse Cross
Roundabout) take the A48
towards Cowbridge. Go through
St Nicholas, Bonvilston and St
Hillary and join the Cowbridge
by pass (only major bypass on
this road). At the end of the
Cowbridge by pass take the first
turning right, the entrance to the
site is the first gate on the right
hand side.

games with a futuristic high
tech edge to them
We are pleased to announce
the arrival of the latest state
of the art digital laser guns for
the ultimate outdoor adventure
experience for all ages from 8
upwards, using high tech infra red
laser technology you will play in a
safe environment without the use
of goggles or safety equipment,
no projectiles nor bruises for an
adrenaline filled day.
Each player is given an easy to use
laser tag gun, which plays futuristic
sound effects. Pinpoint accuracy
up to 300 meters with harmless
infra red beams. Points are scored
when you successfully zap the
opposition with one of the sensors
located on the gun. You will lose
points yourself if you are hit by an
opponent’s laser. There are many
game variations from simple games
to more advanced and complex
games for small and large teams
alike.
Whilst charging through woodland
and undergrowth, you will be
given various realistic objectives in
each game, all with different game
scenarios and props. The guns you
will use are so advanced they are
used to train the armed forces,
the Infra red technology has been
developed allowing pin point
accuracy to over 300 metres.
Laser tag has been developed
taking the best of paintball,
computer games, and indoor laser/
quasar to create a totally mind
blowing new outdoor experience.

AIRSOFT
Airsoft is a fast paced,
fast growing recreational
sport that revolves around
replica war games, using
real imitation firearms (RIF)
guns, which fire a 6mm
biodegradable pellet known
as BB’s.
Airsoft games range from single
day skirmishes, to full weekend
long Military simulation (Milsim) or
wargames.
There are many different types
of location from sites similar to
paintball zones, to private land/
factories/quarries and deralict
industrial area, to full military
training areas.
All the different location both
inside or outside offer different
unique types of game play and
scenarios.

WHERE AIRSOFT
DIFFERS FROM
PAINTBALL
Paintball although fun and
enjoyable is orientated around
quick easy games scenarios such
as capture the flag, or last man
standing, and played in small game
zones, taken a few minutes to
complete.
The enjoyment in airsoft is
driven by the increased realism
of the sport from the realism of
the guns used to the large site
game scenarios taken sometime
hours to achieve the objective.
Game scenarios range from
protection of a high value target,
search and rescue missions. These
sort of game scenarios require
participants to use tactical thinking
and team work form the groups,
to get the objectives completed.

AGE LIMITS & SAFETY
With the wide spread and fast
growing commercialism of the
sport, individuals or teams can
tailor the kit and how they look to
there own desire. Be it to look like
the united states special warfare
units such as Navy Seals or
Delta force to police and SWAT
units, or even futuristic layout
similar to there favourite video
games. Players can even replicate
historical kit layouts such as World
War 1 and 2,Vietnam and even
boar war.
Due to the realism of the weapons
used, it isva offence to buy or sell
a Real Imitation Firearm (RIF) if
individual goes not have a licence
withing the United Kingdom all
those who wish to purchase a RIF
need to have a United Kingdom
Airsoft Retailers Association
(UKARA) license. To gain certain
site criterail need to be meet.

The list of options are endless.
Most members of the sport use
Automatic Electric Guns (AEG)
which use batteries to initiate
the firing mechanism. For added
realism players use Gas Blow Back
(GBB) these tend to be a tad more
expensive and use compressed
CO2 or green gas, similar to what
used in home soda streams.
