What can the Chamber do for you?
January is gone and February begins, hopefully with warmer weather and thoughts of spring. As you look around our beautiful
community, you may notice all the decorations from the holidays are long gone and stored away for another year. I want
to thank the ROTC, Flerchinger Electric, Rotary, Avista Utilities, Tourism Committee, Committee Chair, Jim Dilling of Best
Western Rivertree Inn, (he also moonlights at Mac’s Cycle) and many others for donating their time.
Did you know the Clarkston Chamber will be celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2008? If you’re one who likes
nostalgia and would like to get involved with a new committee, here’s your chance. Call Karen at the Chamber office
for more information. What a way to learn a little history about our community, meet new people and have fun at
the same time.

President, Clarkston Chamber
Albertson’s
Mark your calendar for March 30 for the annual Spring Break Dinner and Auction. The theme is Surf’s Up. This event
is built to allow us to meet new people, network, and promote our business, at the same time bid on quality items,
which raises funds for our Chamber. The Spring Break committee is fanatic about making sure everyone receives a
well deserved night out of fun, whether you bid or not. Remember though your hard earned money goes back into our
community.
And again this year, the Ambassadors will be out selling raffle tickets, for a chance to win $2,500. Each member has committed to
sell at least ten tickets or they’ll buy them themselves. Now that’s commitment! Please help them out and buy a raffle ticket. You never
know, you might be the winner.

News From the
Natural Resources
Committee
Because of a conflict with other meetings our
regular meeting days have been changed to the
third Tuesday of each month we will still meet at
Hazel’s on Bridge Street in Clarkston and the time
will remain the same at 7 a.m.
In an attempt to keep the Chamber Membership
better informed starting with this printing we will
insert a different Chamber position on natural
resource issues each month some of what you
see will reflect past positions but because they
are ongoing and not resolved they are still in
effect, such as dam removal or breaching and
dredging.

As we begin the second month of 2007, dedicated chamber members are busy planning our largest fund raiser for the year –
Spring Break Dinner & Auction. Mark your calendars for Friday, March 30 and spend a fun-filled evening with colleagues
and friends at the Quality Inn and Suites. Letters are being sent out to each and every one of our members asking for
their support in raising funds to help support the chamber and all the events we sponsor. Whether you can donate
a little or a lot, all donations are greatly appreciated for our live and silent auctions.
Along with the Spring Break Dinner & Auction, we are selling raffle tickets. The grand prize is $2,500. Can you
think of a better way to spend the cash but on a trip of your choice? This year’s theme is “Surf’s Up” and a great
way to celebrate winning the grand prize is a vacation trip to a warmer climate. The winner will be drawn at the
dinner.

And this month also marks one of the biggest sporting events, the Super Bowl. Plus you can’t forget about all the
commercials that will be playing too. Isn’t it funny how some remember the advertising more than the game? These
advertisers pay thousands of dollars for a 30 second spot. This is not true with your chamber. For mere dollars a month
you can advertise your business to thousands of people too. We have advertising opportunities on our website and in the
monthly newsletter starting out at $20 a month. If you would like more information regarding our advertising options, please
call me.
