D
uring the month of October, the sales
of auto-transportation vehicles in the
domestic market consolidated the growth

the month of October of 2011, when a total of
2 thousand 965 units were marketed.
Thus, from January to October of the
2012, accumulated wholesales add up to
a total amount of 33 thousand 481 units,
24.5% over the 26 thousand 885 vehicles
placed in the domestic market during the

uring the month of October, auto-transportation
vehicle sales continued having a positive trend,
which anticipates a successful year for the industry at levels that were not observed since 2008.
At the Asociacion Nacional de Productores de Autobuses, Camiones y Tractocamiones (ANPACT),
we are optimistic with such results, having as of the
tenth month of the year, more than 33 thousand units
placed in wholesale and more than 31 thousand in retail.
This shows that the industry’s growth is in a consolidation stage, because, during the month of October
of this year, 54.3% vehicles more than in 2011 were
sold, while 45.2% more units were placed in retail
with respect to last year.
This positive numbers reflect the strength and
soundness of heavy vehicle manufacturing companies that have bet on quality, innovation and sustainability.
Values and attributes which we share and promote
in ANPACT in face of the needs of a Mexican market that each time represents greater challenges and
opportunities.

Retail
In the case of retail, the best levels of
annualized sales since 2008 also exist.
It also highlights the significant increase of retail sales from September
to October of this year.
If September 2012’s sales are compared with the sales in December of
2011, the growth is equivalent to 10.0%,
but in the comparative corresponding
to October of 2012-December 2011, the
increase exceeds 14.0%.
If this trend continues, the sale of
vehicles may close the year above
the 40 thousand units, getting close to the annualized level of sales
achieved in 2008, period during
which 48 thousand sold vehicles
were accumulated.
Up and running …
23,744
n 2012, annualized auto-transportation sales may close at their highest level since 2008. Since at 2008’s
closing, annualized sales exceeded 50
thousand units, they were considerably reduced in the following years,
decreasing to 21 thousand vehicles
marketed at the closing of 2009.
Since then, the addition of sales corresponding to the last twelve months
had not exceeded the 33 thousand
units, but until mid 2012. As of January
of this year, the sales tracking at 12
months marked 32,819 marketed units;
upon expiration of the first semester,
the addition reached 34,222., and, at
the closing of the third quarter, it had
reached the 37,577 units.
At the month of October, the annualized figure was established in 39,188
marketed vehicles, therefore, during
the month of November, it would have
been exceeding the 40 thousand units.
Notwithstanding this significant
growth, the annualized level of sales at
October 2012 is still 22.0% below the
amount sold in 2008.
