Confirm that the battery has been correctly installed in the “auto flush actuator”. Confirm that there is no obstacle in front of the product. Wait for the host to finish self-checking. During that time, it is normal to hear rotating sound of the motor and bicker. Self-checking is completed when the light flashes. Press the power key on the auxiliary panel at the side of the seat; confirm that the seat is in the state of power on. When pressing the power key, the long beep stands for power off while the short beep stands for power on. When the unit is used for the first time, the following has been preset. Seat Cover and Seat Open/Close A. Seat Cover Auto Open Seat cover opens automatically upon user’s approaching and the signal light in the sensor area turns to green. After the seat cover opens Seat cover remains open for a while if user stays in the IR sensing area. After the user has left for a while, the auto-flush function is activated and the seat closes automatically after approximately 3 minutes. Seat cover will close automatically 3 minutes after the user leaves the IR sensing area. Kohler Co. 11 1103350-TW01-D B. Seat Auto Open/ Close When the cover is open, wave hands in the IR sensing area to open the seat automatically. Seat remains open if user stays in the IR sensing area. The toilet will flush automatically after the user steps away from the seat for a certain period and after 3 minutes the seat is automatically closed when the user steps away from the IR sensing area. IR Sensing Area NOTE: 1. When a user wearing dark-colored clothes enters the IR sensing area, the sensing distance may be shortened. If the unit is non-responsive to the user, please use the remote control or manually open the cover and seat. 2. This function is effective only when the “Auto-open seat” function on the remote control is set to “On”. 3. Avoid placing any objects within 25cm in front of the toilet bowl as the seat cover will be opened automatically. Remote Operation of Seat Cover/Seat Open/Close When there is no user seated on the seat, the open/close function of the seat cover/seat will correspond with the remote control’s command. The open/close function will not respond to the remote control’s command when there is a user on the seat. D. Manual Operation of Seat Cover/Seat Open/Close User may manually open the cover/ seat under any circumstances. When the user open or close the cover/seat to a certain degree, the unit will automatically open or close the cover/ seat completely. You do not need to exert any force on the cover or seat throughout the process. The seat or seat cover will stop automatically when obstructed during the operation. NOTE: In the process of auto open/ close of the seat cover and seat, please do not interfere or exert any force on the seat cover/ seat. Kohler Co. 13 1103350-TW01-D Flushing A. If the user is located within the sensing range, the cover and seat will maintain the open status. If the user steps out of the sensing range for a certain period, the toilet will flush automatically after 3 minutes. NOTE: The unit cannot be flushed manually twice within 10 seconds. C. After the dryer function is activated, the system will turn off functions of rear wash; front wash, pulsating, oscillating flushing and deodorizing automatically. 3. You can adjust the dryer temperature: Off, Low, Mid, High. Deodorizing Function Deodorizer Function Deodorizer Pulsate AUTO AUTO Press the key to activate the deodorizer function; press the key to stop this function. NOTE: 1. When the user is seated, the deodorizer function will turn on automatically. Press the key to stop this function. 2. When the deodorizer function is activated, function will stop automatically 30 seconds after the user leaves the seat. 3. During saving, the remote control saves current settings as a package, including water temperature, pressure and nozzle position of front wash; water temperature, pressure and nozzle position of rear wash; air temperature of dryer and seat temperature and etc. 2. Parameters could only be updated by resaving; changing of batteries will not affect parameters saved. 3. Communication of Remote Control and the Unit The dark-color chips at both sides of the “Remote Control” are IR emission areas. During usage, avoid blocking the chips by hands. Sensor Window “Chips” at the top and “Auxiliary panel area” at the side of seat cover are both the receiving areas of IR signals. NOTE: When using the “Remote Control”, please do not block out the emission and receiving areas of IR signals. B. IR Emission When on the LCD flashes twice, signals are being sent. Pressing any of the mechanical buttons on the top of remote control will activate the “Touch Screen”. 2. Do not apply frequent and intense forces on the touch screen of the remote control. After usage, return the remote control to its holder on the wall. Power Key Light Inductor Front Rear Power Dryer Press the key to activate the rear wash, and press it again to stop this function. Press the key to activate the dryer function, and press it again to stop this function. NOTE: 1. All functions will run as per the default setting. 2. The front/ rear wash will stop automatically after 5 minutes. If the functions did not stop automatically, press the function key again to deactivate the function. 3. Remove the Unit and Clean the Seat Cover and Seat The Dismantling and Cleaning of Smart Seat Cover Disconnect the power, close the water stop valve and dismount the inlet hose Disconnect the power Close the water stop valve Dismount the inlet hose Press and hold the release button and move the seat cover forward to depart it from the installation panel. Clean it with a clamp soft cloth. The dismantling and cleaning of the seat cover and seat: The user is not advised to remove the seat cover and seat from the hose for cleaning in some corners, so as to avoid damages of the inner connection and components. Please contact professional maintenance representative for removing and replacement of the seat cover and seat. 1103350-TW01-D 34 Kohler Co. C. Nozzle Cleaning Methods for the user to clean the wands by soft-bristled brush: Press and hold the “Rear ” or “Front ” key on the “Auxiliary Panel” for more than 2 seconds and the corresponding nozzle will extend out. Users could clean the nozzle with a wet soft-bristled brush. After 5 minutes, the wand will retract automatically or press the “Rear” or “Front ” key on the “Auxiliary Panel” again to extend the wand. 1 Front 2 Rear Kohler Co. 35 1103350-TW01-D D. Clean or Replacement of the Filter If the user finds that the wash flow water becomes smaller or there is no flow, please clean or replace the filter in time. Filter Cleaning Disconnect the power, close the water stop valve and dismount the inlet hose. Disconnect the power Close the water stop valve Dismount the inlet hose Remove the filter from water inlet of the seat body by long-nose pliers and clean the strainer. Reinstall the filter properly, connect the inlet hose coupler and open the water stop valve. Check connecting places and power on if there is no water leakage To replace the filter. steps are the same as above. NOTE: If the filter has been damaged or seriously blocked, please replace it in time. 1103350-TW01-D 36 Kohler Co. E. Replacement of the Deodorizer Block If the user finds that the deodorizer effect is not obvious and feels that there is unpleasant smell, please replace the deodorizer block in time. The steps of replacing the deodorizer block: Disconnect the power and close the water stop valve. Disconnect the power Close the water stop valve Press and hold the release button and move the unit forward to depart it from the installation panel. Move the whole machine horizontally to take out the support of deodorization block and deodorizer bracket from the bottom Deodorizer block bracket Deodorizer block After replacing with new deodorizer block, conduct all of the operational steps reversely. NOTE: After taking out the deodorizer block, please do not put hands and other objects into the holding cavity of deodorization block so as to avoid damaging the fan and other components. Kohler Co. 37 1103350-TW01-D F. Replacement of Battery for the Flushing Actuator The “Flushing Actuator” uses 2 AA alkaline batteries. If it is found that the flushing order could not be realised while having pressed on the remote control, which means that the battery is low; please replace the batteries for flushing actuator. How to replace battery: Battery Cover Remove water tank cover Batteries Open the top cover of battery box Casing of Actuator Take out the worn battery. Replace a new one after waiting 30 seconds (pay attention to the positive and negative terminals) Close the top cover of battery box and tighten the screws Close water tank cover Open the battery covers Take out the used battery replace the battery close the top cover of cover battery box and tighten the screws NOTE: 1. To prolong service period of the battery, please use alkaline battery as much as possible. 2. Prevent water from entering the casing and battery case while replacing the batteries. 3. The polarity of battery shall not be installed inversely. New and used batteries shall not be used together. 4. Ensure that screws are fastened effectively after the batteries are replaced to prevent water from entering. 1103350-TW01-D 38 Kohler Co. G. Maintenance when laid up for a long period If unit is left idle for a long time, the water in the unit must be drained: Disconnect the power, close the water stop valve and dismount the inlet hose. Disconnect the power Close the water stop valve Dismount the inlet hose Press and hold the whole seat and incline it to drain the water from the water inlet. Press and hold the drain button in front of the heating tube to drain the water in the heating tube completely. NOTE: 1.
