Panthenol
A member of the Vitamin B complex family used as a hair thickener and conditioning
agent. During oxidation it is converted to Vitamin B - 5 (pantheonic acid).
Phenyl Trimethicone
Adds shine and flexibility.
Propylene Glycol Dicocoate
A mixture of propylene glycol esters of coconut fatty acids. Aids in removing unwanted
"build-up" from hair.
SD 40 Alcohol
Often listed as SDA40. It belongs to the alcohol family and is the only drinkable one
specially denatured by adding bittering agents to make it not suitable for human
consumption. It is used primarily in hair spray as a resin solvent.
Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate
Removes cationic build up which can have a negative effect on hair volume and body.
By removing this build-up, hair volume is increased.
Triethyl Citrate
Derived from citric acid. It provides pliability to fixatives.

AMP (Aminoethyl Propnol)
An organic pH adjuster used to maximize the effects of styling products.
Butylene Glycol
Organic humectant similar to propylene glycol.
Butyrospermum Parkii
Rich in vitamins A and E. Reacts when heated to moisturize, smooth and seal the cuticle
layer of the hair.
Dimethicone
A Silicone derivative. Adds luster and sheen.
Guar HydroxypropyItrimonium Chloride
Naturally derived from Guar tree, cationic conditioning agent used frequently in
shampoos.
Hellanthus Annuus Seed Extract
A powerful, natural anti oxidant and sunscreen. Protects hair from environmental
pollutants and naturally inhibits hair color fade.
Hydrofluorocarbon (HFC)
An acceptable alternative to chlorofluorocarbons and hydrochloroflourocarbons on a long
term basis. Because HFC's contain no chlorine they do not directly affect stratospheric
ozone.
Hydrolyzed Silk Esther
Humectant and anti static agent.
Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein
Moisturizes, strengthens and adds sheen to the hair.
Isobutane
Naturally occurring gas.
Octylacrylamide Acrylate Butylaminoethyl Methacrylate Copolymer
Part of a cationic system. A fixative that is used for hold and high gloss in hair sprays.
