Red in Black and White July 2015 CMRFU NEWSLETTER Another club rugby season has almost finished and I would like to thank all the players, clubs, supporters, volunteers, administrators, management, sponsors, and referees for delivering another season of Counties Power Club Rugby. We know it is a long season and that an amazing amount of work goes on behind the scenes to get your teams on the paddock. As everyone knows this will be Tana Umaga’s final season with us before he takes up his role as Blues Head Coach. Tana has been a part of our family for six years and in that time has achieved some wonderful things. We know he is just what the Blues need. We wish him well, but first he has a job to do with us, which we know he will put his all into before he heads to Super Rugby. Congratulations to the Manurewa Women’s team who are the 2015 Champions. Congratulations to all our players on international duties. Tim Nanai-Williams, Mike Stanley, Ahsee Tuala and Rey Lee-lo who are representing Samoa and Sonny Bill Williams for his All Blacks call up. It is great to see Counties Manukau players featuring on the international stage. Our own representative season is just around the corner and this year we will have our biggest representative rugby programme featuring 12 teams. The representative draw will be on www.steelers.co.nz as it becomes available and will be updated as matches become finalised. Each team has their own page on our website so be sure to check them out. Our congratulations go to the players who have made the Counties Manukau Steelers ITM Cup squad and good luck to Tana, Grant and Glen and our 2015 Steelers for their upcoming ITM Cup season. We hope you will get behind the boys and support our team. Finally to all the teams in the Counties Power Club Rugby finals this weekend, congratulations on making the finals and best of luck for your matches.
