Things To Know
A typical camp day includes live animal visits, Zoo
exploration, investigations, and hands-on activities.
Age and Grade Level
It is important to us that your child receives a
wonderful experience while at camp. As such, we
hope that you will help us by honoring the age and
grade level guidelines. Each camp is for children
entering that grade-level in the fall of 2012. Your
child MUST be potty-trained to attend camp.
Supervised Before and After Care
Before and after care are available from 7:30 to
9:00 a.m. and from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. for full day
campers. This is not an extension of camp. The cost
for each supervised additional care session is $5.00/day a.m. and $5.00/day
p.m. A $5.00 late fee will be charged for every 15 minutes after 5:30 p.m. There
are no refunds for canceling prepaid sessions.
Snacks and Lunch
A snack will be provided for our half-day and full-day camps. Children
participating in the full-day camp (ages 5-6 & grades 1-7), will need to bring a
sack lunch. PLEASE NOTE THAT REFRIGERATION FOR LUNCHES WILL
NOT BE PROVIDED. For your convenience, lunch options will be available for
purchase through the Zoo. You will receive more information about lunch options
with your confirmation packet. Lunches can be purchased daily for $5.50 or
weekly for $22.00. Lunches may be purchased at the Zoo when you drop off your
child, or you may send the additional options form (found in the confirmation
packet) in ahead of camp. A vegetarian lunch option will be available by request.

MYTHBUSTERS: ZOO EDITION
Combine the fun of science with the excitement
of television production this week as we bust (or
confirm!) myths about the animal kingdom! We’ll
develop experiments and conduct interviews with
zoo staff to test things like whether ostriches really
bury their necks in the sand, if a camel’s hump is
really filled with water, and whether or not sharks
have to keep moving in order to stay alive. Once your
tests and interviews are complete, explore the many
roles of television production and you try your hand
at directing, acting, and recording your very own
Mythbusters video.
