Mackay, North Queensland, Australia.

The business was established in 1990 by Kevin and Janena McLean.
Mackay had only two survey supply outlets at the time and neither of
these were interested in selling consumables that were required for Construction/ Surveying.
Initial customers were John Holland Construction and local Surveying
Companies. Mining Companies became interested in NQSS through
‘buy local’ policies, and State and Local Government business contacts
were established as the business grew.

By 1995 the business had over one hundred customers in the Mining,
Construction, Surveying, and Government Sectors. These customers
included John Hollands, Thiess Contractors, BHP Mining, MIM, Allied
Mining, North Goonyella Coal, Newlands Coal, Brambles, and Goldings Construction.
The business was sold to Lane and Associates by Janena McLean on
20th February 1995 for personal reasons. Operating as Macegay Pty Ltd
and trading as NQ SURVEY SUPPLIES the business was run by Margaret Lane from 77 Grendon St, Mackay.

and is now trading at 15 Nott St, East Mackay. An Internet presence
was established via a web page in December, 1997. A faxstream duet
system was installed to allow 24 hour fax service in conjunction with a
24 hour mobile service.
