He is active in many charitable causes and founded ChronicIllnessPlanning.org which educates professional advisors on planning for clients with chronic illness and disability. He has written books for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson Research, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the COPD Foundation. He lectures around the country on this topic for professional organizations, charities, and others. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Wharton School, with a concentration in accounting and economics, his MBA from the University of Michigan, with a concentration in tax and finance, and his law degree from Fordham University School of Law. Mr. Shenkman is admitted to the bar in New York, New Jersey and Washington, D.C. He is a CPA in New Jersey, Michigan, and New York. He is a Registered Investment Advisor in New York and New Jersey. Rabbi Benjamin Yudin Rabbi Benjamin Yudin has served as the spiritual leader of Congregation Shomrei Torah in Fair Lawn, NJ since 1969. Rabbi Yudin graduated with a B.A. in History from Yeshiva University. He then pursued a dual graduate program, earning semicha from YU’s RIETS, as well as a master’s degree in Jewish History. His association with YU continues to this day, as he teaches Bible and Jewish Thought in the Mechina Program at Yeshiva College, and is a former dean of Mechina’s predecessor, the James Striar School. Rabbi Yudin’s weekly parsha commentary on radio station WFMU’s “JM in the AM” program is heard by thousands of listeners in the tri-state area. Countless others have been inspired by the explanatory essays Rabbi Yudin contributed to the ArtScroll Transliterated Linear Siddur, a landmark prayer book designed to enable all Jews to be full participants in the synagogue service. Marc Weiner The New York Times calls Marc Weiner “a gifted comic” and “absolutely charming.” His life story was told in a NY Times Magazine article, Of God and Weinerville. Marc Weiner is a comedian, puppeteer and television producer and an advocate for listening and communication. He uses comedy and a unique Empathy Labyrinth to get his message across. His TV credits include SNL, HBO, Showtime, Comedy Central, and Nickelodeon’s “Weinerville“ and Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.” Currently Marc provides the voices of the Map, Swiper the Fox and The Fiesta Trio on Nickelodeon’s hit TV series, Dora the Explorer. Reuben Ebrahimoff Reuben Ebrahimoff, a.k.a, the “Haftorahman”, is well known to many who hear him introduce the Haftorah in synagogues, watch him on OU.org, or visit his website Hatorahman.com. Reuben’s unique formula for bringing the words of the prophets to life is most insightful. No longer words of admonishment or even hope and encouragement from a different time somewhere far back in our ancient history, the “Haftorahman”, makes it meaningful to our lives today. A REVIEW OF SOME VITAMINS, MINERALS AND ESSENTIAL NUTRIENTS Presenter Bios Rabbi Menahem Meier THE ROLE OF THINKING FOR THE OBSERVANT JEW Rabbi Steven Pruzansky Rabbi Steven Pruzansky is the spiritual leader of Congregation Bnai Yeshurun, a synagogue consisting of nearly 600 families located in Teaneck, New Jersey. Previously, Rabbi Pruzansky was the spiritual leader of Congregation Etz Chaim in Kew Gardens Hills, NY. While in New York, he served a two-year term as President of the Vaad Harabanim (Rabbinical Board) of Queens. Rabbi Pruzansky graduated from Columbia University in 1978 with a B.A. in history, and received a Juris Doctor degree from the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law in 1981. Rabbi Pruzansky studied in yeshivot in Israel and the United States, and was ordained at Yeshiva Bnei Torah of Far Rockaway, NY under the guidance of Rabbi Yisrael Chait, shlit”a. He recently served as President of the Rabbinical Council of Bergen County and as the Regional Vice President of the Rabbinical Council of America. He is a trustee of the RCA on the Board of the Beth Din of America, as well as a dayyan on the Beth Din itself. He also served as the American co-spokesman for the International Rabbinic Coalition for Israel and on the Board of Directors of the Jerusalem Reclamation Project. He presently is on the Board of Directors of Pro Israel and the One Israel Fund. He has also been honored by the Orthodox Union, the Bet El Yeshiva Center located in Bet El, Israel, Ezras Torah, and several other Jewish and community organizations. Rabbi Pruzansky writes extensively on topics of Jewish interest and has lectured in more than 20 countries. He is the author of “A Prophet for Today: Contemporary Lessons of the Book of Yehoshua”, and “Judges for our Time: Contemporary Lessons of the Book of Shoftim”. Devora Wechter, MS RD CDN Devora Wechter has worked as a registered dietitian for over 10 years most recently at a nursing home and rehabilitation center in Union City, NJ. She received her M.S. in Clinical Nutrition from New York University, and completed her dietetic internship at NYU and Mount Sinai Hospital. Devora has taught classes on Nutrition in Stern College for Women. She enjoys learning with people of all ages and backgrounds. Rabbi Menachem Meier Rabbi Menachem Meir received smicha from the RIETS of Yeshiva University and his Ph.D. in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University. The Founding Principal of both the Frisch School in Paramus and the Long Island Hebrew Academy in Great Neck, NY as well as a teacher of Talmud and Tanach, Rabbi Meier has dedicated his life to education.
