This quarter in ECS the 6th grade has
been working on the upcoming
speech meet, we have to come up
with a speech in 3 minutes using
the ARMPIT skills.
Attention getter, we start with a
quote, human example, book,
movie, gimmick, or a personal
story to capture the audience’s attention.
R- Read the quote given by the
judge/teacher, the quote may be
funny, serious, sad, or happy.
Your whole speech is based off
of this.
M- This is the methodology; this is
where you explain your understanding of the quote to the audience.
P- List the three main points; this
includes 3 people places or
things.
I- Inverse (which means go backwards), this step you go back and
do everything backwards, List 3
main points, Methodology, Reread, and give your attention
getter.
T- Tie everything back to the attention getter, this step you take
everything you have gone over
and tie it into the attention
getter.

Martin Luther King
Jr. has always believed in his
dreams and made
them come true.
“My favorite state
has not yet been
invented, it will be
called Montana
and it will be perfect.”
This quote by Abraham Lincoln is very inspiring
because Montana is such a beautiful state, but gets so
little attention. In order to understand this quote, I had
to look into the lives of Martin Luther King Jr., George
Washington, and Abraham Lincoln because they all
have believed in something and have made it happen.
“My favorite state has not yet been invented, it will be
called Montana and it will be perfect.” This quote is
very true because Montana it truly perfect..

“Turn your can’ts into cans and dreams into
plans “relates to my quote. The only way to
enjoy anything is to earn it first. In
both quotes, the message says never wait and live in
the moment.
Three people and groups of people relate to
my quote. First, Martin Luther King, Jr. followed this
advice because he had a dream and made it a reality.
Secondly, all presidents are
dreamers and doers because they would like to
make our country a better
place. Finally, Ms. Warneke enjoys her job because
works hard to see her students succeed.

Perfect
Montana is the last best placesome wise person. My favorite state
has not yet been invented. It would
be called Montana and it will be
perfect by Abraham Lincoln. These two
quotes relate because one says Montana
is the best place and the other says it
would be perfect. Three people that relate to this quote are Damien, Colten, and
Jackson. These 3 people are some of my
best friend and there cool because Damien is always there for me because he is
my brother. Colten is awesome because I
can go over to his house and hang and at
recess. Jackson is awesome because if all
else fails I can always hang with him. Colten, Damien, and Jackson are amazing
friends. The two quotes match perfectly.
Abraham Lincoln wished that Montana
would be perfect and his wish came true
because Montana is truly the last best
place. By: Dominic Stelling
Hope
by Colten Quinn
Hope-the power that has fueled America for hundreds of years. This relates
to the quote I received everything in
the world is done by hope-by Martin
Luther.
The way I interpreted this quote is that
America has always has always run on
hope and always will. Three examples
of this are
the Revolutionary War
the Civil War, and the
the French Revolution
because they were all wars to prevent
great struggles.
I just told you how some wars in history
relate to a quote by Martin Luther:
everything in the world is done by
hope
In the end, hope is the power that has
fueled America for hundreds of years.
Deep Thoughts from Reba MacEntire
A year ago, my uncle had a
grand mall seizure and was in the ICU
unconscious for a long, eight days. My
mom kept praying for him to wake up,
but was brave the whole time. Then,
when times were especially tough,
she made all of us laugh by pointing
out she had two different colored
shoes on.
This relates to the quote I was
given by Reba MacEntire; “To succeed in life, you need three things: a
wishbone, a back bone, and a funny
bone.” because my mom had all
three of these, and always has.
Three people that relate to this
are, Gandhi; who became one of the
most inspirational people in the world,
my friend Jenna; who no matter what
happens is always positive, and of
course, my mom, for reasons I’ve already said.
Looking back on this, Reba, in
my opinion, was very right. This is because if you think about it, if you can
be hopeful and pray, stand up for
yourself, and make a joke out of everything, you pretty much have a ticket
to success.
“Just do it”, and “everything in the
world is done by hope”. These two quotes,
one by Nike, the other by Martin Luther,
both relate to the quote I was given today.
“Although no one can go back and make
a brand new start, anyone can start from
now and make a brand new ending.” -By
Carl Bard
This quote means to me that you
need to press forward, to not care about
what others think, and always try to make
the best ending possible, even if you had a
rocky start.
3 people I believe relate to this quote
are murderers, because they have mental
issues, I mean, they’re murderers! Second,
spies, because spies usually have tragic
backstories, and lastly, I think that anyone
can start from now and make a wonderful
ending.
Today I told you how murderers,
spies, and anyone and everyone can
make a brand new end. To me this quote
means that you need to press forward and
not let ethers interfere. “Although no one
can go back and make a brand new start,
anyone can start from now and make a
brand new ending.”

Title: Home Alone
Plot: Kevin McAllister was accidentally left
home alone! To make things worse, two robbers are trying to rob his house. Can an ordinary eight year-old defend his giant house
from robbers?
I recommend this movie for a snow day because it takes place during the winter time
and some of the main scenes involve slipping
and sliding in the snow.

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. This movie is
about how the Jedi built their base on the planet
Holth. Then the bad guys find them and destroy the
base with their AT-AT’s. Luke Sky Walker starts his Jedi
training with master Yoda. In the end, Luke fights
Darth Vader.
I think this movie would be a good movie for a
snow day because of the snow battle on Holth. At the
end you might want to go play in the snow!
If I were going to pick a movie on a snow day it
would be the polar express. This movie is
about a boy who doesn’t believe in Santa and
goes to the North Pole on a train called the polar express. The train has some mishaps
along the way. By Dan Chung
home alone by Brad Corrnett
Home alone is a movie about a boy
who gets sent to the attic the night before a
big vacation. In the morning, his mother and
family forget about him and leave him home
alone. The boy does things in the house and
in the neighborhood that he never has before. Then, the night before his parents come
home, two men try to kidnap him and rob the
house. You’ll have to watch it to see what
happens!
The Minions have been on this planet far longer
than we have. The Minions moved through a lot
of masters. This movie would be good for a snow
day because it is really funny so it’s worth staying
inside. At the end the Minions found Gru for their
boss. That’s why the movie Minions would be fun
to watch on a snow day.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is about a girl who
lost her parents. All she does to make food is get
scraps to sell to this guy to get food. And it’s also
about this Stormtrooper who doesn’t want to be a
Stormtrooper, and he helps this guy who is the
best flyer in the galaxy.
