Hannah’s House celebrated the completion of their second home, the Killilea
Home, on Friday, May 10, 2013. The Killilea Home,
located at 505 West Fourth Street in Mishawaka, is named
in honor of Diane and Bill Killilea, founding members of
Hannah’s House twenty years ago. Over two hundred
people attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony along with
Mishawaka Mayor Dave Wood and Bishop Kevin C.
Rhoades, Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, who
blessed the home. Bishop Rhoades called the mission of
Hannah’s House, “a true witness of love, practicing
Christ’s commitment to act in love and kindness.” He
thanked the many donors, contributors, and volunteers
that have enabled the mission to become a reality in the
community. The second home will care for
approximately twenty
women and twenty babies
annually. An additional
$200,000.00 (annually) in
Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades
financial support will be
needed to fund this new
home - funding will cover
Mishawaka Mayor Dave Wood such things as salaries and
programs. The first home is

should be moving in to the
new home by June, 2013.

20th Reunion Celebration
Hannah’s House hosted their 20th Reunion and Luncheon on Friday,
May 10, 2013 for the many women and their children that have called
Hannah’s House their home over the past twenty years. Since opening
in 1993, Hannah’s House has served over 500 women and babies!
Over 70 people attended the reunion which included 25 former
residents, 6 current residents,
4 fathers and 33 children.
After the luncheon, the
attendees paraded over to the
new house where the mothers,
fathers and families were
blessed by Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades, Diocese of Fort Wayne-South. Former resident,
Ruby, spoke at the dedication about what Hannah’s House has meant to her.

Our Woman
Women of Hope Luncheon
Supports the Bridge of Hope program
On March 21, 2013, over three hundred people gathered at Morris Park Country Club for our
4th Annual Women of Hope Luncheon and Silent Auction honoring the memory of Diane
Killilea, founding board member of Hannah’s House. The Women of Hope Luncheon which
supports the Bridge of Hope program, a church-based approach to ending homelessness for
single mothers, featured guest speaker, Paqui Kelly, co-founder of Kelly Cares Foundation. We
are thankful to all the underwriters, bidders, patrons, and volunteers for a great team effort
which raised over $30,000 for the Bridge of Hope program.
Paqui Kelly, Co-Founder of
The Bridge of Hope program has the ability to serve eight mothers and families concurrently by

officially formed and trained. The first mom to officially transition from living at Hannah’s
House to the Bridge of Hope program happened in the Fall of 2012!
In the future, more mentoring groups will be needed to work with the new BOH participants. If your church would be interested in
