BridgeMill Golf Academy
“Our
Goal is to Help You Enjoy Your Golf More”
Tips From The Pro
Play A Little More Break
Research shows that most amateurs tend to under play the break
on their putts. Now there is obviously no need to over do this,
but if you have some doubt on how much your putt is going to
break, go ahead and play a little more. At least if you overplay
the break, the ball is moving toward the hole as it slows down
instead of away from the hole.
Best Wishes for a great 2015!

SAM PuttLab was recently featured
on The Golf Channel as one of the

professionals on all tours perform

weaknesses of your putting stroke
and make simple changes that will
lead to fewer putts.

2015 Junior Academy Golf Program
Spring Golf has finally begun at BridgeMill. Let’s hope the weather will cooperate. Several Junior golfers
have been out practicing and preparing for upcoming tournaments. BridgeMill’s Players Tournament Club
has been participating in Winter workouts and golf lessons throughout the cold months. The PTC has also
added another facet to this incredible program. All juniors in the Players Tournament Club are required to
attend weekly Toastmaster Youth Leadership classes. This is an excellent opportunity for junior golfers to
learn to speak confidently in front of others. The class will groom these juniors to be our future leaders in
this community.
The first McGrory Cup Invitational tournament will be held at BridgeMill on March 15th. This series of golf
tournaments will last throughout the Summer. The overall winner will be announced at the awards dinner in
December. Thank you Molly McGrory of Re/Max for sponsoring this series again this year.
BridgeMill’s Junior Golf Academy will begin on March 16th. We are looking forward to seeing familiar faces
as well as new ones on the course. The Spring session of the academy will conclude with a mini-tournament
again this year. This is an exciting way to cap off a great golf season!

Spring Detoxification
If you want to stay healthy in this increasingly toxic world, it is in your best
interest to detoxify and cleanse. This will help prevent the build up of toxic
chemicals in your body. Researchers have shown that we carry a number of
chemicals stored in our tissues that the detoxifying system is unable to excrete. Choosing a program that uses specific foods and supplements known
to increase this system can help lower the toxic load. Your body produces toxins as a result of normal metabolism which can become harmful if allowed to
build up. The most damaging toxins are most likely to come from the environment such as: food, water (drinking and bathing), products you use on
your skin and in your home. You can also absorb them through the skin and
breathing. These chemicals interfere with how your cells work and are considered to be the root cause of all disease and degenerative conditions. By
following a good program you can reduce your exposure to toxins, provide
the nutrients that support these pathways enhancing elimination of toxins and
provide nutrients that help repair, renew and nourish your body.
Anybody can benefit from a cleansing. It's a way to jump-start your body to
health and also a great way to begin a weight loss program. While a good
detoxification program can be followed any time of the year, Spring seems to
lend itself as a good time to clean up the system. As the weather begins to
warm, the body often shows a tendenancy to prefer foods that lend themselves to detoxifying such as fruits and vegetables. High quality foods signal
the cells of your body to begin to discard the garbage that is clogging them
up and begins to make room for the superior nutrients it uses to make new
and healthier tissue.
Foods to Avoid:
Take at least one week to reduce and eventually eliminate regular tea, coffee,
carbonated drinks, alcohol, junk food, fried foods, foods containing hydro
genated and trans fats, sugar and foods containing it, processed foods and
foods with additives. Reduce and then avoid dairy and wheat products.
Foods to Add:
Fresh fruit and vegetables, especially cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli,
Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, rutabaga brown rice, beans, lentils, sprouts,
nuts, seeds. Flavor with fresh herbs, turmeric and ginger. Drink filtered water
and herbal green or white tea.

Avacados
Did you know that the avocado is classified as a flowering plant and is
one of the few fruits that provide high amounts of fat and protein?
They are very high in vitamins and minerals including fiber, vitamin K,
B5, B6 and C, folate and potassium. Avocados have very little sodium,
are low in fructose, and one can have twice the potassium of a banana.
They provide healthy monounsaturated fats.
BEAUTY & CULINARY USES
Nourishes and moisturizes the skin
Add to salads, desserts or dressings
Works as a natural sunscreen
Use as a spread or dip
Use as a hair mask to repair scalp and hair
Use a s a fat replacement in baking

About 43% of US households purchase avocados.
This fruit ripens faster when placed beside a banana or apple.
To find out if an avocado is ripe, look under the dry spot on the
stem end. If it is green the avocado is perfectly ripe. If it is brown
the fruit is over ripe.
Avacados rank among the lowest of all fruits and vegetables for
pesticide use.

3-4 medium avacados, mashed
1 large tomato, diced
1 red or yellow onion, diced
1/2 pablano pepper, chopped

GET MORE MOBILE
Do you have tightness or aches
and pains in your body that don’t
seem to improve no matter how
much you stretch?
Mainstream
thinking might lead us to stretch a
particular muscle group, when
there could be bigger issues such
as chronic improper movement
patterns and/or lack of movement/
lifestyle patterns. Sometimes the
tightness is much deeper than the
muscle and lies in the tendons,
ligaments or the joint and no
amount of stretching can help.
In this one month program we will
look at lifestyle and movement patterns to help determine what the
cause of pain could be and work to
release it, first by improving movement patterns, with the use bands,
balls and other stretching methods
to help unglue and break up tissue
and joints.
Each week will focus on a specific

BridgeMill Community Association
Although Spring is more than a month away, many residents are inquiring about the date of the Spring yard sale.
Mark your calendars and start organizing your “stuff” and save the date, Saturday, April 25th!
With Spring looming in the weeks ahead you may be starting to coordinate some exterior improvements to
your home and/or property. Please keep in mind that most all exterior modifications to your lot (which also
includes the backyard) require the prior written consent of the Architectural Review Committee (“ARC”). This
would include, but not be limited to, fence installation, exterior house painting (To a different color from what
is on the house currently), roof shingle replacement, pools/spas, gazebos/pergolas, deck/driveway expansion,
room/garage addition, tree removal, major landscape renovations, retaining walls, storage sheds, etc. Failure
to submit plans and obtain approval prior to commencement of your project can lead to fines and/or
requirement to remove the unapproved modification. Please visit our website at www.BridgeMill.org and click
the ‘Documents’ tab to see the BridgeMill Community Wide Standards that goes into detail about this process.
The Modification Request form you would need to fill out and submit along with detailed plans/drawing/
photos can also be found in the Documents section as well.
The ARC meets and reviews homeowner’s requests on the first and third Monday of each month. Submit your
detailed plans early and get the review & approval process out of the way so you may proceed with your
project when you are ready. This process can take up to thirty (30) days so plan accordingly! Approvals are
good for twelve (12) months from the date of issuance.
Now is also a good time to review your property to see if any repairs and/or maintenance are needed. Do
your landscape beds need fresh pine straw or mulch? Do your bushes need trimming/manicuring? Have you
applied a pre-emergent weed control to your lawn to help avoid those pesky weeds from sprouting up in the
Spring? Does your mailbox conform to the community wide standard?
Did you know? Replacement mailboxes, address numbers, posts & accessories are sold at the onsite office.
We believe it is essential that all our residents play an active role in maintaining property values in BridgeMill
and if we each do our small part then BridgeMill will remain a wonderful place to call home!
