He is a pupil of Mestre João Pequeno, with which he graduated Contramestre in 1988. In the same year with Mestre Júnior he formed the Group Raíz de Angola. In 1999 he obtained the Master degree and continued to teach Capoeira on behalf of the Academy Mestre João Pequeno de Pastinha, the most ancient and respected academy of Capoeira Angola. From 2002 he co-operates regularly with the dance company “ Teatro del Vento” of the Opera de Saint Etienne in France. Frequently he receives invitations to teach workshops in France, Germany and Italy during which he passes this ancient discipline to the enthusiasts. During the years the participated to many rodas in which he had the opportunity to play with very famous Masters such as: Mestre Bobó, Mestre Boca Rica, Mestre Canjiquinha, Mestre Curió, Mestre Ezequiel, Mestre King Kong, Mestre Morais, Mestre Nô, Mestre Waldemar da Liberdade, ecc. Mestra Borboleta (Francislady Quintes De Mendonça) starts training Capoeira on the 12th of August of 1981 in the Group Modelo Cultural Kikongo in Rio de Janeiro. She has been pupil of Mestre José Cesar da Silva (Mestre Cesar), with which she formed the Association of Capoeira Beira-Mar, of which she has been President and in which she remained for 20 years. Founder and President of Group of Capoeira Maltas do Rio de Janeiro, she has been the first Master woman according to the Official Sistem of Graduation of the Brasilian Capoeira Confederation (CBC) and of the International Capoeira Federation (FICA). Master for the past 15 years, she has been the first only woman to obtain the perpetual charge of Master in the Superior Council of Masters of the CBC and of the FICA. She is Director of National and International Relations of the Community Association of Capoeira Masters of Rio de Janeiro (ACOMCERJ). Brazilian Penta-champion of Capoeira in the women and absolute category; Champion in the Tournament “Berimbau de Prata” – individual play and Berimbau rhythms; Various times Champion of the State of Rio de Janeiro, in the following categories: couple, individual and group. Judge in various National competitions, she has been giving various conferences on capoeira in the Universities for the students in Sports, Health and Exercise Science. Contramestre Jô (Joselita Pereira De Oliveira) born in Juazeiro (Bahia), is considered to be one of the best Capoeiristas in the world. She has founded, on the 18th of December 2005, the Cultural Centre Equipe Jô Capoeira, in her hometown. Her work is supervised and supported by Masters such as: Mestre Falcao Salvador (Bahia), Mestre Jelon (New York), Mestre Pequines (Goiania), Mestre Igor (Brasilia), and other important Capoeira personalities. CONTRAMESTRA JÔ Her Group today is based in: Brazil, U.S.A., Spain, Japan and China. She taught lessons in the University California, Los Angeles. She has toured with the Dance Company “Dance Brasil” and "Clan Capoeira" a French Company. She has worked for big Companies such as NIKE, GAP, SONY (Show, Videos Clip, Photo) and she has been hosted in several TV programs in Brazil and abroad. She travel around the world with Capoeira.
