Primo Water and Cuisinart Sign Agreement to Market
Sparkling Beverage Appliances and Consumables
Primo Water Corporation, a leading
provider of multi-gallon purified bottled
water and related products, and Cuisinart,
a dominant force in the kitchen electrics
and cookware industries, announced
today that the companies have signed a
three-year sales, distribution and licensing
agreement. Under the terms of the
agreement, Cuisinart will market and
sell Primo Water’s existing line of
sparkling beverage appliances and related
consumables in North America, and
Primo will supply CO 2 cylinders for
Cuisinart’s new proprietary line of
sparkling beverage makers.
Primo Water’s beverage maker line consists
of the Flavorstation and Liberty models,
both of which fall under the marketing
and sales terms of the new agreement.
Beginning this month, Cuisinart will debut
its own sparkling beverage makers, which
will be powered by Primo Water CO 2
cylinders and available in Cuisinart’s
traditional retail channels, which
encompass department and specialty stores
(including online segments). Additionally,
Primo Water will provide the distribution
and refilling of CO2 cylinders for both its
own units and Cuisinart branded sparkling
beverage makers.
“This strategic alliance is consistent with
our decision to re-focus on our core
businesses and strengths, and we are
excited to partner with Cuisinart, a leader
in kitchen appliances, cookware and other
housewares markets,” said Billy Prim,
Chairman and CEO of Primo Water.
“Cuisinart has the experience and
proficiency to grow and maintain sales in
this quickly expanding category. Primo has
experience and expertise in managing a
retail distribution network and can support
the growth of this new category by
supplying the appliances’ key consumable
component—the CO2 cylinder.”

on its diverse product assortment and
strong retail presence, and the beverage
maker segment was a natural next step for

Job Training Program
Sasa Demarle Inc., the innovation leader

Philabundance Community Kitchen
program, an adult culinary arts vocational
training program that supplies critically
needed meals to agencies and emergency
kitchens serving people with food insecurity.

Philabundance’s Hunger Relief Center and
hosting a food drive at their office.

program, they receive help from the

Eighty five percent of graduates have
been able to find and keep full-time work
in restaurants, hotels, cafeterias, and
catering companies.
Philabundance is the largest hunger relief
organization in the Delaware Valley region.
The organization reduces hunger and food
insecurity by providing food access to people
in need in partnership with organizations
and individuals. In the fiscal year 2011,
Philabundance distributed 21 million
pounds of food to families in need. For more

the introduction of the Keurig® Rivo™
Cappuccino and Latte System. The new
Keurig Rivo System combines the
legendary simplicity of Keurig single cup
technology with the authenticity of Italy’s
favorite coffee, Lavazza®, and marks
GMCR’s entrance into the espresso,
cappuccino and latte brewer category.

espresso-based beverages using any
type of fresh milk from the refrigerator—
from whole milk to skim and even
non-dairy options—offering an exceptional
alternative to the high-priced beverage
options typically consumed at coffee
shops. With minimal clean-up, Rivo
provides an easy way to brew a variety of
delicious drinks—including hot or iced
cappuccinos, lattes, mochas and more,
simply and consistently.
The Keurig Rivo System brews
rich Lavazza Italian espresso with
up to 15 bars of pressure and each
Rivo pack contains approximately
7.5 grams of a unique blend of 100
percent Arabica beans, packed and
freshly sealed to preserve optimum
quality of taste. The Rivo System
optimally froths milk with a
combination of hot steam and a high
speed spinning whisk and delivers
delicious espresso-based beverages with
exceptionally long-lasting foam and ideal
in-cup temperatures.
The Rivo System brews authentic espressobased beverages and easily froths any
type of fresh milk directly from the
refrigerator. Just in time for the holiday
season, the Rivo System will be sold
exclusively at select Bloomingdales’
locations beginning in mid-November and
is expected to become more widely
available, including on www.keurig.com,
by the spring of 2013.
