Annual Polish Days are around the corner Mark your calendars for the 106th Anniversary of Polish Community Club’s Polish days, July 30 and July 31, 2016. The Polish days drew over a thousand members and guests last year. This year we are counting on your attendance and support once again. We have the entertainment covered, and we will not disappoint you in our food selection. Also, the drinks will be cold and plenty to choose from (only 17 different kinds of Polish beer). There will also be Polish novelties and gifts for sale, basket raffle and a 50/50 drawing. To top off this family-oriented event, we will be hosting our first pierogi eating contest and a chance for you to win $100. This is your opportunity to renew your membership, meet with friends you haven’t seen in a while, dance to your favorite Polka tunes, eat a homemade meal, participate in fun games, win a prize and be Polish for a day or two. We wanted to take some time to pause and thank all of our members and volunteers for a fantastic year so far. Your support, dedication and commitment to the club and our local community is greatly appreciated. Our membership is continuing to grow, reaching 650 members...WOW!!! We went from 70 just a few years back to 650 today. We have had a rough road and we consider our current status a great success. We would never have reached that number without YOU. Please know that the club is run by volunteers, so we ask you to continue to support us and understand our shortfalls. Hope you noted some of the recent improvements at the club, including new flooring that has been installed in the main dining room. Also, we have installed a new AC unit and for those who have been with us for a long time, this is huge. Our old unit was just that...very old and inefficient. Together we will reach the next milestone!!! POLISH COMMUNITY CLUB Volume VI Issue I Page 3 What have we been doing? Carnival Polka What a great family-oriented event, full of laughter and dancing. Thank you to those who came to support the PCC. St. Patrick’s Day post-parade celebration Another success for the club that drew many to the PCC for Irish as well as Polish cuisine and let’s not forget the green beer. Syracuse Polish Festival The PCC once again participated in the 62nd annual Polish Festival that drew hundreds to Clinton Square in Syracuse. A little polka, some traditional dancing and lots of food…the lines were long with people anticipating delicious cooking at the Utica tent. That's all thanks to the volunteers who worked so hard to make and prepare the food prior to the event, those who served it during the festival, and of course those who helped us clean up after the festival. It was a very successful event for the club and a huge THANK YOU goes out to all who helped!!! Upcoming Events July 10—Post-Race Boilermaker Party.
