Lucca, Northern Tuscany
It has been written that the Lucchese built their landscape “as if their
only concern was with beauty”.
A varied and generous landscape, as full of life as it is of peacefulness,
woodland paths, valleys and picturesque villages.
Villa Controni is located outside the Northern Tuscan town of Lucca

the Controni family - noble merchants who, in 1680, took over what is
now Palazzo Pfanner in the centre of Lucca. In 1692 Carlo Controni
invited Prince Frederick of Denmark and Norway as a guest whilst he
was visiting Lucca during his Grand Tour of Italy.
A city-state for over 600 years, Lucca nestles behind its centuries-old
walls. The various eras have left their historical imprint of harmonious
structures which are well preserved, and although the city can be
crossed in about 15 minutes by foot, a visit to Lucca cannot be rushed as
everything in this beautiful city must be seen!
For many years the fertile estate which provided housing for workers, a
chapel, stables and an olive oil press, was used for the cultivation of

vacation and effective from OCT 10-, 2014 and based on current exchange
rate. To confirm your reservation a deposit of 30% of the total vacation fare
is required within 48hours of confirmation. Full payment will be required 90
days prior to your arrival. Once you have paid your deposit your vacation
fare guaranteed and not subject to currency fluctuations. Rates are subject
to currency fluctuations.

days prior to arrival 50% of the vacation fare is non refundable: 44 days to
date of arrival 100% Cancellation Fees apply. We suggest that Guests
purchase trip cancellation insurance at the time of paying your deposit.
a Little more about the LUCCA SUMMER FESTIVAL.
The festival is a little different to what we know are used to NZ, in that it is
held over the month of July in the heart of Lucca. During the course of
the month various International acts and Italian Artists will perform in the
evening. Each artist has their own concert and depending on who is
performing will determine weather there is seating or you will be
standing.
Who will perform ... this is generally released between Jan-Mar each
year, however in some cases we do get advanced notice.
What we can tell you is the performers are big cross section of genres
and in the past our guests attend concerts by the Leonard Cohen,
Diana Krull, Neil Young, Earth Wind & Fire, Bryan Ferry and in 2014 the
Eagles and Stevie Wonder - so be sure that in 2015 you will have the
opportunity to see some amazing artists.

depending bon how long you are staying with us
PAYMENT : Bank direct credit into viaggio’s NZDBank account.
Should you wish to pay by Visa or MasterCard a 2.5% fee will apply and will
be charged in NZD. Currency fees may apply and Viaggio must confirm the
exchange rate on day of payment.
DEPARTURE : The Viaggio Italian Villa vacation series is subject to a minimum
number of rooms being sold over the entire program. Should the minimum
number not be reached, viaggio reserves the right to amend the
arrangements. In the unlikely case that this is necessary, should guests elect
not to travel on the amended arrangements, all moneys paid are fully
refundable.
