Welcome to the 2013 Estes Park Hunter Jumper Festivals I, II & III!
The Colorado Hunter Jumper Association, along with Equine Productions, Inc. and their management staff, welcome you to the beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park and one of the
nations most spectacular horse show venues.
Each week will feature various Hunter and Jumper Classics for Juniors, Amateurs, and Professionals, and the always popular leadline class for our future riders. A $25,000 Grand Prix will be
highlighted each week along with an Exhibitors Party and Beerfest Week I and live entertainment both weeks I & II. And once again we will have the always exciting Rotating Rider Relay on
Friday Evening (Week I only) where teams of two, typically in costume, will race around a
jumper course offering fun and excitement for spectators and riders alike.
Festivals I & II will offer a $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby and Festival III will offer a $2,500
USHJA National Hunter Derby along with the 2’6” $1,000 Estes Park Derby.
Estes Park is a one-of-a-kind mountain town. It’s small enough to make you feel at home, yet
large enough that you won’t go wanting for shopping, dining or entertainment opportunities.
Equestrians, their families and friends will all enjoy what this attractive town has to offer.
Make your plans now to attend the 2013 Estes Park Festivals! Stalls will be limited, so please
fax your reservations in early. With summer being prime tourist season in the Colorado Rocky
Mountains, we advise making your lodging arrangements well in advance.
We look forward to seeing you in Estes Park, Colorado!

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS – HUNTER DIVISION
Hunter Classes:
All hunter classes will be judged on performance and soundness and when indicated, conformation, suitability or manners.
Under Saddle Classes:
To be eligible for a Model or Under Saddle class, the horse must be entered in at least one full point class over fences in the
same section during the competition. There is no such requirement for non-USEF point classes or C-rated sections.
Courses:
Obstacles will simulate those found in the hunting field such as natural post and rails, brush, stone wall, white board fence

AJ DESIGN ROTATING RIDER RELAY (WEEK I ONLY)
Class 404
Entry Fee: $50/pair – 80% addback Table II.2
Fences not to exceed 1.05m
This competition is for teams of two. A horse can only compete once in
this class but a rider may compete on more than one horse. The entire
course must be jumped twice in the correct order by either competitor. The competitor who crosses the start line must jump the first
obstacle and the competitor who jumps the last obstacle must cross
the finish line. One change is mandatory. Competitors may change
over as often as they wish. A change is obligatory whenever a fault is
incurred. A fault is indicated by an audible signal at which time the
other competitor continues the course from the next obstacle. In the
event of disobedience, the other competitor must first jump the
obstacle which has not been jumped by his partner and then continue
the course. Faults incurred are penalized by adding four seconds for
each occurrence to the time of the round. The first three disobediences are penalized only by time, the fourth disobedience incurs
elimination. Should a competitor jump an obstacle before his partner
has landed over the preceding obstacle, the pair will be eliminated.
The fastest overall time wins. In case of a tie for first place only, there
will be compulsory jump-off over a shortened course. Costumes are
encouraged!
