Check your personal graph online at soelden.com/skiline or print it out at one of the Skiline terminals at the base stations down in the valley. The BIG 3 Rally is a unique way to explore the entire ski area. You start at the Giggijochbahn base terminal: the route leads from Giggijoch via Rettenbach Glacier to the first BIG3 experience at Schwarze Schneide (3,340 m), further on to Tiefenbach Glacier and the second BIG3 peak, Tiefenbachkogl (3,250 m). From Tiefenbach Glacier you return to Rettenbach Glacier and then to the base terminal of Gaislachkoglbahn which takes you on top of the third BIG3 summit, Gaislachkogl (3,048 m). Conquering three mountain peaks higher than 3,000 meters, enjoying three 360° panoramas, skiing some 50 km in only one day makes a truly outstanding experience which can be rarely found in all Europe. With the exception of the officially signposted and floodlit night skiing slopes, all ski runs are closed between 05.00 pm and 08.00 am! During the evening and night hours the slopes are closed due to snow-grooming and maintenance works. The snow-making systems are in operation as well. There is a great risk of injury due to grooves, furrows, cable winches and snow-gun tubes. The GLACIER TOLL ROAD is one of the highest trails in the Eastern Alps. The 15 km long road leads from the village center of Sölden to the ski areas of Rettenbach glacier (2,675m) and Tiefenbach glacier (2,800m). The 1.7 km long glacier tunnel at an altitude of 2,800 meters above sea level – the highest road tunnel in the Alps – links the two ski areas. Both road and tunnel feature two lanes. Therefore the glacier can also be easily reached with coaches and buses. The average gradient is about 11%. You are strongly advised to take snow chains with you during the autumn months. Please bear in mind that the road will only remain open if the drivers are not in danger (avalanche hazard). Therefore the road can be closed from time to time. The glacier road will be closed as soon as the winter ski area and the connecting glacier ski lifts will be opened (during the winter months). Please keep informed about the latest road conditions.
