Professional push fittings for real hands-on experts
The full TECElogo range has been available since December 2008. Initial experiences in practical application have shown
that TECElogo offers users real processing advantages.
The TECElogo push fitting system
for sanitary and heating connection
has a genuine USP: The system,
tested by the German Technical and
Scientific Association for Gas and
Water (DVGW), enables connections
that have already been pushed
together to be released again with a
special disassembly key.
This is achieved through a clamping ring
inside the fittings, which grips the pipe
during push fitting. The clamping ring is
made of plastic and therefore cannot
damage the pipe sheathing.
TECElogo offers the complete reliability
of a professional installation system. This
is also guaranteed by DVGW approval.
The advantage of the special push fitting
technology is the significant reduction
in assembly work, which leads to a time
saving of 30 to 40 percent compared with
conventional systems. This means a huge
competitive advantage for pipe-fitting
professionals, particularly in commercial
construction.
The fitting consists of just three readyassembled components plus O-ring. Pipe
shears and a calibration mandrel are all
that are needed to work with TECElogo.
The composite pipes developed specially
for the system can be easily bent by hand
and retain their bending stability.
The TECElogo fittings are made of the
high-performance plastic PPSU® or DR
brass with a low level of dezincification
– perfect materials for use with potable
water. The plastics used are temperatureresistant and highly shock-resistant.
Problems solved: With the TECE push fitting, connections that were pushed together incorrectly can
be undone again with a special key, and the fitting can be reused.

Housing technology specialist TECE cast a
glance into the future of pipe connection
technology at a press conference on
13th November in Emsdetten, North
Rhine-Westphalia. Using its own pushfitting system for sanitary and heating
installation, TECE presented initial
experiences of users in practice and
demonstrated the stability of a pushfitted TECElogo connection in a special
load test. The trial was based on a
famous forerunner: In 1657, Otto von
Guericke, from Magdeburg, pumped
the air from two hemispheres that had
been joined together, then harnessed
eight horses to each, and had the
horses attempt to pull the hemispheres
apart with all their strength. As von
Guericke expected, the hemispheres
could not be separated despite the
power of several horses, because the
air pressure acting on the spheres with
the vacuum was stronger. TECE used
this method of proving a tight connection
as its model and commissioned Tobias
Bücker, a specialist on the German
equestrian sport scene, as the leader of
the trial. Bücker is several times world
champion, European champion and
German champion in carriage driving.
With a special shaft aimed at evenly
distributing the tractive forces acting on
the pipe, Bücker harnessed two ponies to
each end of the pipe and had them pull
with full force. The push-fitting connection
remained stable.
Its high impact resistance is ensured
by the positive material properties of
the high-performance PPSU plastic.
DR brass is processed in the threaded
fittings. This alloy is especially well
suited for potable water installatons.
The inspection window for checking
the push-in depth is made of transparent plastic, so dirt cannot enter
the fitting, the O-ring stays clean and
the connection remains tight.

The TECElogo range offers everything the fitter needs for sanitary, floor and heating installations –
in the most common dimensions of 16, 20 and 25 mm.

Experts do not only want reliable techniques, they also want a product range with which all installation work can be carried out without
any problems. Apart from standard fitting variants, TECElogo also offers practical, pre-assembled solutions for the installation of
washstands or the connection to radiators, for example.

TECE square
TECEsquare toilet push plate: awarded the
Design Plus Prize 2009
The new TECE push plate is extremely flat and with a minimalist design. For
the experts on the jury for the coveted Design Plus Prize, this was well worth
an award.
TECEsquare exploits the effect of pure stainless steel and integrates perfectly into
a modern bathroom architecture with its extremely flat design. Three narrow seams
indicate the buttons for flush triggering: one large button for full flush and a smaller
one for reduced flush. To execute the unusual design, TECE developed a special
switch technology, which enables actuation with the two buttons. The WC push plate
is largely installed within the wall with the help of a special assembly frame. Only
the extremely flat stainless steel plate, which has a depth of just 2 mm, remains
visible. TECE has applied an extremely thin, abrasion-resistant protective layer on the
surface of the stainless steel actuator. As a result, fingerprints are not visible after use.

TECE and Design
This year, two new TECE products were awarded the Design Plus Prize: TECEsquare,
the new WC push plate in stainless steel, and the new drain valve for the TECE cistern.
While TECEsquare won the jury over with its appearance, inner values were what
counted in the drain valve.
TECE has now won a total of six Design Prizes. In 2004, the WC fitting won the
Design Plus Prize and the Red Dot Award.
In 2007, the TECEloop push plate and TECEdrainline shower channel “plate” won the
Innovation Prize for Architecture and Technology.

TECEsquare with metal or glass cover
A TECEsquare version with a glass cover is also planned. As in the TECEloop series,
push plates can be installed on the wall or – with the help of a special installation frame,
completely flush-mounted.

The TECEloop modular system: 96 possible combinations
The system contains a standard range of coloured glass fronts and buttons. The highlight: Some of the TECEloop glass covers coordinate with the products from Alape and Emco.
As a result, bathroom planners always have the right WC push plate to match the accessories and furnishings of both manufacturers.
The combination of 8 buttons and 12 covers in the modular system offer additional design options. TECE offers buttons with a chrome or gold surface, for example. The
buttons with a brushed stainless-steel look are particularly fashionable. There are 96 possible combinations in total. Other RAL colours can be ordered specially. For customer
advisory services, TECE has developed a slipcase that contains samples of all covers and buttons in Loop original size, so it’s easy to find the right colour combination.

TECEbase
New standard WC actuation with square design
Use of the new plastic push plate will be of particular interest in the standard and project area. TECEbase has a dual-flush function. The narrow button actuates a reduced flush,
the wide button a full flush. Like all toilet push plates from TECE, its dimensions are relatively small and it fits the TECE actuation concept for all TECE cistern models.

Design Plus Prize – the new drain valve for the
TECE cistern
The new drain valve from TECE is a real all-rounder: With a 3-litre reduced flush, four
different settings are possible for the full flush, including the water-saving setting with
4.5 litres. Consisting of a compact unit, the valve is easy to use and maintain.
TECE was awarded the Design Plus Prize for this innovation in flush technology.
Users save around 25 percent of water, as compared to the single-flush technology.
With a simple slider, the fitter can choose between 4.5; 6; 7.5 and 9 litres for the
full flush. The TECE cistern proves its worth even when the toilet bowl or drain pipe is
not designed for the lower flushing volume.
With the new TECE valve, the removal of a throttle also enables the flushing flow to be
subsequently increased. The resulting higher performance provides a thorough flush
for every bowl.

The builder is pleased about a wide range of push plates, and the fitter enjoys the easy installation and reliable function of the technique behind the wall.
Thus, both are pleased about the flushing technology provided by TECE.
The cistern has been developed in particular for the requirements of the installation in 8 cm masonry. The construction is based on German know-how and is the result of many
years of experience of TECE in the field of flushing technology. The TECE cistern is a completely pre-mounted cistern – simply connect it and that’s it! Water saving dual flush system
(4,5 / 3 litres, 6 / 3 litres or 9 / 3 litres) is possible in an extreme noise reduction 9 litre safety tank. Therefore there is enough water when it matters most. (Cannot be used with toilet
eletronics and flush mounted toilet push plates.)

Saving water is all very fine, but thorough flushing
is also important.
Depending on the condition (waste water system, toilet ceramics, et cetera), different
flushing volumes can be set on the drain valve.

TOTO and TECE: Partners in WC hygiene
The German housing technology system provider TECE and the Japanese sanitary ceramics manufacturer TOTO have
concluded a strategic partnership
TOTO, Japan’s leading manufacturer of sanitary ceramics and the world market leader for washlets (toilets with a bidet function),
has developed a wall-mounted washlet specially for the European market that will be marketed in different model versions in
Germany and Europe. The search for a competent partner for flushing technology with an extensive sales network led to TECE.
TECE has now developed a module with a concealed cistern for the top model among TOTO’s washlets – Neorest. The prefabricated unit
has automatic flushing, which can be directly connected to the washlet. The WC modules are from TECE. The ceramics and motor with
special actuation on the basis of the TECEloop push plate will be sold by TOTO Germany GmbH, Bottrop via specialist wholesalers.

arms can now be used
A modular system with different safety support arm brackets has now been
incorporated in the universal module for creating barrier-free WCs
Depending on the manufacturer of the
safety support arm used, the module
can be extended through purchase of
the appropriate bracket. As a result,
practically all safety support arms can
now be installed in accordance with
standards. The module is of course
compatible with all TECE WC electronics
(battery and mains variants). The preset
seat height is 48 cm.

New TECEprofil expert
opinion on sound
proofing
A current expert opinion on sound
proofing for a TECEprofil installation wall
reveals that TECEprofil meets sound
proofing standard DIN 4109 for the
construction of partition walls in hotels,
schools and hospitals. The assessed
sound attenuation value was measured
in accordance with DIN 4109 for a
TECEprofil partition wall including sanitary
installations. A sound attenuation value
of R’w = 52 dB was determined.

There‘s a system behind
this shower channel
Shower channels have been available on the market for around three years
and are becoming more and more popular with bathroom planners, architects
and building clients.
TECEdrainline modular system
TECEdrainline shower channel always consists of three components: a design grating
or a tileable basin, a channel and a drain.
TECEdrainline was one of the first marketable systems and quickly became the market
leader in this segment. The reason is simple: 35 years of channel experience and just
as many years of hygiene expertise – from the industrial kitchen segment – meant
that TECEdrainline was a sophisticated product from the start, tailored to the needs
of today’s fitters.
Seven different designs with polished or brushed surfaces are available, together
with a basin that can be tiled. Four outlets with different drain capacities and
installation heights permit additional usage options.

Bathroom planning with design highlights from TECE
TECE is now providing bathroom planning data for TECEdrainline shower channels
and toilet push plates. This naturally includes the design highlights such as the
TECEloop collection. Data can be downloaded via the SHK industry portal at

TECEstandardline: The construction kit
for channel drainage
TECE stock programme for drainage channels reduces delivery time and
brings down the costs
With Standardline, TECE offers an assortment of stainless steel channels which are in
stock, and thus available at short notice. Based on the modular principle, fitters and
planners can select the components for their drainage solution and order them from
the wholesaler. The delivery arrives in just a few days – and can be sent directly to the
construction site, if required.
The TECEstandardline range is tailored to use in projects. A fire-protection solution is
included in the programme as well. For the various channel widths and lengths, TECE
offers different covers for various purposes, such as showers, saunas or industrial
kitchens. There are no hollow areas or edges on the channels made of stainless steel
V2A, so the channels can be cleaned quickly and thoroughly.

TECEflex
TECEflex – the installation system with unique flexibility for all fields of
application – now also in Russia
Raz Faz! The practical TECEflex batteryoperated tool for expanding and pressing
to dim. 32 mm, as a set in a case.
Thanks to its safe axial pressing technology, TECEflex is approved for compressed air and gas installations, as well as
sanitary installations, and is therefore one of the most flexible systems on the market. It even meets the strict selection
criteria of the Russia testing institutes and at the end of 2008 was the only composite pipe system also approved in
Russia for gas application.
The background to the decision by the Russian institutes is the poor state of many Russian gas lines. The need for renovation is
therefore very high. Previously, only steel pipes were approved for this in Russia. The welding of the pipes is difficult and can only be
carried out by qualified experts. As a result, the authorities were looking for an installation system that is easy and quick to use but
still foolproof. The Russian test engineers were already aware of the advantages offered by composite pipe systems from potable
water installations. Because of the high safety standards for gas installation in Germany, they therefore concentrated on the systems
approved here for gas installation, and ultimately chose TECEflex. Because TECEflex uses the same brass fittings for gas and all other
applications, storage is extremely easy and the risk of mix-ups on the construction site is practically zero. This unique selling point
was the deciding factor.

combines a type-K gas flow detector with
a thermal shut-off unit in a single component. The real highlight: The fitting can
be installed horizontally and vertically.
