In photo are: International President Elect Joan Wilson, Area President Earl Foster, Marilynn Linkletter, Area Youth Representative Marcel James, Regional Director for Central Canada Mark Nesbitt and Regional Director Ray Arscott Club President Y's Bill Irwin chaired the October 1st meeting held at Razzy's Roadhouse. There were 11 members present Y's Eric MacNeill said Grace to open the meeting while we waited for meals Y's Alan Brady read some of the notes from our Board of Directors meeting held at the 'Kay Reynolds Centre' on May 28th,2015! Y's Gordie Carr presented a summary of the Club 's financial report to the meeting. He had given a full financial report at BOD meeting! Y's Earl Foster presented a report on the 'Our annual Parking Lot Project ' during 'Old Home Week'. We give thanks to the commercial properties that permit our Club to use their parking lot for this project over the past number of years, since the project was introduced by Cecil Dunbar. We ,also, thank all the volunteers that helped make this a success! This year we had parents and members of the 'Naiads' Synchronized Swim team help us with the project! This project netted the Club $2,275.00. Of this amount we gave a cheque of $2200.00 to the Naiads Swim Team. Therefore, following the budget, we will be paying an additional amount of $2800.00 to the Naiads Swim Team: There are 6 Competitors Swimmers(11-17 years of age . The Naiads Swim Team are rebuilding their ranks with 25 Recreational Swimmers (6 to 9 years of age) to build up competitive Swimmers! Area President Y's Earl foster held a successful 'Area Training and Business Meeting': This event was held from September 17 to 20 ( Arrival and Departures).Y's Earl gave thanks to the following for hosting guests: Gordon Carr --- Joan Wilson ; Bill Irwin ----Ray Arscott; Wayne Wright ---- Marcel James! He ,also, thanked Gordon Carr and Norbert Stewart for helping with food for breaks for their meetings. Y's Norbert Stewart presented a report on the 50 - 50 Draw. The Holy Redeemer Council of the Knights of Columbus have become a 3rd partner with the Summerside B and G Club setting out boxes in the Charlottetown area. They have 6 boxes but only 2 out so far. They will only get their money from their own boxes! Between the Y's Men's Club and Crimestoppers, there is only a dozen boxes in the area so the entrance of the K. of C. should have no measurable impact on the Y's Men's Club share of the ' Toonies for Youth' or the Crimestoppers who are the 2nd partners in this project. The Brotherhood Committee will meets weekly at Y's Earl Foster's home every Monday! Collect and save used postage stamps for the Brotherhood Fund! We ,also, support many other programs such as "The D.A.R.E. program"; July , 2015 Representative Earl Foster makes donation to Deputy Gary McGuigan. The Charlottetown Y’s Men’s Club was chartered in 1925. Throughout the years it was the Service Club of and for the Charlottetown YMCA. Originally founded as a “Service Club”, Y’s Men International is more than that. It is a community service organization affiliated with the YMCA and provides fellowship, fraternity and fun for its members. On May 24, 1996, the local “Y” closed its doors. At the present time, the Club meets once a month on Thursday evening from mid September until the end of May at Razzy's Roadhouse in Charlottetown. There are 20 members at present. New members are welcome. One of the many Y'S Men's donation projects is The DARE program gives kids the life skills they need to avoid involvement with drugs, gangs, and violence. Y'sly yours John Massey
