ALİ YILMAZ ÇAMURCU ICSG ISTANBUL 2015 SCIENCE BOARD PRESIDENT ICSG ISTANBUL 2015 AWARDS CEREMONY 19 POST SHOW REPORT Outputs of the Congress The congress fulfilled the leadership role for determination of smart grid strategy and course of Turkey within the scope of 2023 vision of the country. The congress brought all the stakeholders together to facilitate exchange of opinions and information on developments in smart grids. The companies had an opportunity to exhibit their products on their booths. By providing information on the smart grid projects implemented in all around the world, the congress gave birth to new ideas for implementation of such projects in Turkey. The congress also facilitated stakeholders to discuss possible problems that may occur during transition to smart grid systems and solutions to such problems. The congress acted as a guide for distribution companies and administrations to reduce leakage / loss rates in energy. The congress highlighted the subject of replacing existing meters with smart meters in Turkey. The congress also underlined the importance of the use of renewable energy resources like wind and solar energy instead of fossil fuels like petrol and natural gas. The congress encouraged the manufacturers to conduct R&D works on relevant subjects to develop and manufacture products with high-added value. The congress underlined the importance of starting works on smart grid transition of existing grids. The congress prepared Turkey for the energy infrastructure of the future. 20 POST SHOW REPORT ICSG Istanbul 2015 Participants’ Views ICSG Istanbul 2015 Congress and Fair was a great success for CYIENT.
