Open Fun Football Schools is a humanitarian project that uses fun games and pedagogical ‚Fun Football’ concept as a tool to stimulate the process of democracy, peace, stability and social cohesion in South Eastern Europe, and for re-establishing friendships and sports co-operation between population groups (municipalities, football clubs, primary schools, leaders, coaches, etc.). CCPA OFFS BH project has a vast network of volunteers, instructors, leaders, coaches, assistants and parents and it is part of FA BH UEFA Grassroots football portfolio. Open Fun Football Schools were first presented in the war torn BiH in 1998. That year the project was implemented in 12 municipalities - then proclaimed ‘open cities’ from both BiH entities. During 2000, the project has been extended to Macedonia, and then Serbia and Montenegro, Croatia, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, and since 2005 to Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. From 2006. activities started in Moldova, Kosovo, and in 2009 also in Iraq. In the period 1998-2011, in the Balkan region, a total of 192 multi-ethnic seminars, courses and workshops involving 17 600 people: leaders, trainers and instructors, were organized. Of the total amount,, 53 seminars were held in several places and hotels in BiH.. In this period, about 4330 leaders, coaches and instructors have gone through our educational process - Fun football, and organization of Open fun football schools, or Grassroots football, as UEFA calls it. Many years of education, formed a team of 18 INSTRUCTORS of Fun Football in BiH and it is significant team in the process of educating leaders and coaches in our seminars. A successful cooperation with the FA BH has been established, doing joined activities under Grassroots football, as well as with the Educational center of FA BH. In the period of 1998 to 2011, in BiH, 255 Open fun football schools, 40 street sports activities, 13 one day - display football schools , and 20 projects - FOOTBALL IN SCHOOLS CHILDREN ASK YOU TO, a large number of football tournaments for children, and 103 New Nordisc Cup competition were organized. All of these events involved some 76 234 boys and girls from 7-14 years old. It is significant to note that the percentage of girls participants is around 32%. With these children worked about 6023 leaders, trainers and instructors, and a significant number of assistants, parents, staff and volunteers, during the Open fun football schools and other events. Until now, the6023 leaders and trainers in BiH received a complete sports equipment, as a compensation for their work with children in this project, and the project has, in addition to numerous other sports gear and equipment for the development of youth football, provided and distributed to participants in the project also following items: • • • • • 14 005 - footballs nr. 5 35 312 - footballs nr.4 30 848 - plastic cones 29 405 - marker shirts 77 762, jerseys, variety of other equipment, tools for working with children and equipment for children 3 LEADER AND COACHERS SEMINARS DATE AND VENUE 17. Those twelve municipalities had the status and have been called OPEN at the time, and that was the reason to start our multiethnic schools in those exact municipalities. Eve though the project has been fully financed by international community, even then , municipalities have significantly participated in financing nutrition and local transport of coaches and children during the five day school. We have already back then understood the significance of local communities, and their clubs and elementary schools . During the following year, 1999, the Children Grassroots Universe has been created, which has put a child in the center, and one of the most important satellites rotating around the child and providing game, socializing and fun, is municipality with it’s schools, clubs, parents, coaches-volunteers. During this year , we have 22 municipalities in project, and in 2000, 44 participate. It shows that CCPA OFFS project is well accepted, mainly by local community and that the role of local community is becoming more and more important and significant in total implementation of the project, specially when it comes to self sustainability and local financing. Since 2006, local community takes fully over financing the education of leaders and coaches at seminars, and without that part, schools couldn’t be organized. So far, 117 municipalities participated project, and there are just few more left, and we hope for those to be included in the future. With the regular annual report to the municipalities about the distribution of their local contributions, we plan to propose new ways of cooperation, wider education for coaches, inclusion of more children and speacially, new project SPORT + SCHOOL +POLICE ( SSP) which will address children and parent’s problems, and will aim to prevent all types of delinquent behavior of young people in their communities. We thank all the municipalities and we hope to work together even harder to provide children with joy and fun!! 5 NR 1 OFFS ORAŠJE DONJI ŽABAR PELAGIĆEVO 6 LEADERS IVICA MARKOVIĆ GORAN RISTIĆ PETAR RADULOVIĆ COACHES 4 4 4 NR 2 CHILDREN 210 OFFS ŽIVINICE ĐURĐEVIK BARICE DUBRAVE LEADERS COACHES MUMIĆ HAMDIJA 4 MUJO MURATOVIĆ SAFET ĐULOVIĆ 4 4 CHILDREN 205 7 NR OFFS PETROVO KAKMUŽ GRAČANICA MALEŠIĆI 3 NR 4 OFFS LUKAVAC KALESIJA LEADERS SIMO TUMARČIĆ JUGOSLAV JOKIĆ MIRSAD HALILOVIĆ LEADERS NASIHA HAMZIĆ ŠEFIK IMAMOVIĆ TABALOVIĆ SUAD COACHES 7 CHILDREN 192 7 COACHES 4 8 CHILDREN 198 NR 5 OFFS LEADERS MIROSLAV LAZIĆ IVANA LAZIĆ DEJAN BLAGOJEVIĆ NOVI GRAD LJUBIJA NR 6 8 OFFS ŠAMAC TUZLA ŠAMAC DOMALJEVAC LEADERS IVKOVIĆ VESNA BABAJIĆ ENES ILIJA LUCIĆ COACHES 6 8 4 CHILDREN 239 COACHES 4 4 4 CHILDREN 192 NR 7 NR 8 OFFS KONJIC BUTUROVIĆ POLJE GLAVATIČEVO OFFS KISELJAK ISTOČNA ILIDŽA ISTOČNO NOVO SARAJEVO LEADERS SULEJMAN DŽUMHUR SENAD HANDŽO HALID ĆOSIĆ LEADERS RADE TOMIĆ ŠEŠLIJA MIRKO BOJAN KULJANIN COACHES 4 4 4 COACHES 4 4 CHILDREN 201 CHILDREN 192 4 9 NR 9 NR 10 OFFS HADŽIĆI PAZARIĆ TARČIN 10 LEADERS MUHAMED ČOVIĆ ALDIN RAMIĆ FERID RAMIĆ OFFS MAGLAJ / KOSOVA ŽEPČE ZAVIDOVIĆI COACHES 4 4 4 CHILDREN 204 LEADERS ESAD MAŠIĆ FRANJO VRBIĆ NERMIN HASANČEVIĆ COACHES 4 4 4 CHILDREN 194 NR OFFS VIŠEGRAD 11 ROGATICA NR 12 OFFS CAZIN BUŽIM VELIKA KLADUŠA LEADERS BOŠKO FURTULA ŽELJKO ĆUZULAN ZEKOVIĆ RADISLAV LEADERS JASMIN ČATAKOVIĆ NEDŽAD DURIĆ ENVER BAJRAKTAREVIĆ COACHES 8 CHILDREN 192 4 COACHES 4 4 CHILDREN 202 4 11 NR 13 12 NR 14 OFFS ILIJAŠ VAREŠ OLOVO OFFS ILIDŽA DOGLODI BUTMIR LEADERS SENAD HODŽIĆ ZDRAVKO BOŠNJAK NERMIN OŠIJAN LEADERS HALID DIZDAREVIĆ MIRALEM ČERENIĆ HUSUKIĆ SEAD COACHES 4 4 4 COACHES 4 4 4 CHILDREN 196 CHILDREN 215 NR 15 OFFS ZENICA NEMILA VISOKO LEADERS ERZET AVDIĆ MIRZET HINDIJA SOFTIĆ ZIJAD COACHES 4 4 4 NR 16 CHILDREN 205 OFFS TRAVNIK G.VAKUF /USKOPLJE NOVI TRAVNIK DONJI VAKUF LEADERS MIRELA TRBOVIĆ DŽEVAD DEDIĆ COACHES 4 4 DAVOR SOLOMUN 4 CHILDREN 250 13 NR OFFS 17 ISTOČNO NOVO SARAJEVO VOGOŠĆA NR 18 14 OFFS HRASNICA VOJKOVIĆI OSIJEK LEADERS ALEKSANDAR ŠKRBA ZORAN SOKNIĆ ELVIR SUĆESKA LEADERS KEMAL LOJO MIRSAD TUTUN DŽENAN HOŠIĆ COACHES 8 CHILDREN 192 4 COACHES 5 2 2 CHILDREN 192 LEADERS-COACHES -ASSITANTS -VOLUNTEERS NR. Small town populated by Serb returnees , with even smaller group of pupils , attending the local primary school. Teacher, Elvis Šabić, has 30 pupils, who use a small backyard during the sports classes, where they most like to play football - girls against boys. The CCPA OFFS office, together with instructor Emir Sedić from Bosanska Krupa, visited this school and organized one day streetfootball festival. We have donated new plastic goals, footballs, bips, cones and ropes, which made children very happy, and the teacher will now on be able to use ‘real’ equipment during his sport classes. This group of children is , however, always actively involved in our Bosanska Krupa OFFS. The joy of game and socializing made possible for these kids to feel nice and happy, with mutual desire to meet again. Visit to municipality Bosanska Krupa and primary school in Bosanska Krupa, together with us, made also the vice-president of Federation BH, mister Svetozar Pudarić. We have used the opportunity to present our project to Mr. Pudarić and our instructor Emir explained the way of organizing the OFFS and educational system of CCPA. Visit to Bačka Palanka and Dejana Bačko CCPA offices Sarajevo and Belgrade decided to visit the Open Fun Football School in Bačka Palanka, a town in eastern Serbia. The main reason for this visit was Dejana Bačko, 14 year old painter. We first saw Dejana on TV, and painting her wonderful images, she said her biggest wish is to play football. Since our Open fun football schools are open for everyone who wants to play and enjoy, we invited Dejana to spend 5 joyfull days with us. This story would be just an ordinary story, if talented Dejana wasn’t born without both upper extemities. Everything she does, she does using her legs. Dejana played at the OFFS and joggled the ball better than all the boys at the pitch. We were very happy to have had a priviledge to meet this inspiring girl, and we have kindly asked her to make a painting of her impressions at the OFFS. 27 REGIONAL SEMINAR WITH DISPLAY OFFS ON CONFLICT AND CRIMINAL PREVENTION AMONGST YOUTH • • CREATING AND USING THE SPORT +SCHOOL + POLICE NETWORK Sarajevo, 24-26th October 2011. Since 2010, CCPA actively works on development of the new project componets, in order to enrichen the OFFS activities, and also, by adding the new components to the project to enhance the positive impact on processes in the local community. According to this, the idea of adding a police componet has been developed, by including the local community police officers, as coaches into our football schools, together with the representatives of the school, sport and social sector. The goal is formation of the local networks for Conflict and Crime Prevention (CCP) at the local community level, which can offer assitance, guidance and support to families in time, in cases of social marginalization, crisis or criminal behaviour. Violent behaviour, drug or alcohol abuse, school drop-out, juvenile crime, discrimination and ethnic segregation, are some of the issues that request a special attention. The aim of the CCP network is not about school professor to do police work, or vice versa. This is about forming network and cooperation between different sectors - school, police, social services and sports clubs- to strengthen their individual and collective capacity to identify different social conflicts and problems in the community , which are connected to the children and youth, and which are being dealt separately by police, school sector, social workers and clubs. Motivation to use the Open Fun Football Schools activities , as a platform for forming the initiative to prevent conflict and criminal , comes from constant desire of Cross Cultures organization and our local partners, to help preventing ethic and social confrontations in local communities, through building tolerance and suppressing conflict. In order to develop this idea, and under the support of SIDA, Bosnia and Herzegovina hosted a Regional Seminar with the aim of developing the initiative. Seminar CCP - SSP Regional CCP - SSP seminar was held in Sarajevo, hotel ‚Terme’, Ilidža, form 24-26th October 2011. Seminar was attended by participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, Kosovo and Denmark. Seminar participants , from all countries, represented all sectors relevant to project. Therefore, seminar was attended by 20 representatives of police sector, 14 came from educational sector, 12 municipality representatives from all countries, 21 sport sector representatives, 7 representatives of different public institutions (media, ministries, KFOR), and 15 CCPA OFFS staff members . Seminar envolved lectures, workshops and display Open Fun Football School. 28 29 DISPLAY SCHOOL HADŽIĆI CCP SSP Seminar gathered number of participants, which have been introduced to the Open Fun Football Schools project for the first time. In order to show the idea of using a football school as a platform for forming the SSP network, in praxis, we organized a display Open Fun Football School. School was held in Hadzici, at FK ‘Radnik’ stadium, on October 26th, from 9.30 - 13.00 . Each Open Fun Football School has a concept of dividing a football pitch to 12 separate working stations, where 12 coaches , with assitants work with groups of children. Total number of chidlren participating school is 220. At the stations, different fun games are played, invloving football elements, and after a finished session, groups rotate to the next station. Display school in Hadžići, other than 12 coaches and their assitants, members of the female football selection of BH and SFK 2000 Sarajevo, involved also police represetatives, as well as teachers from the schools. Two ‘police station’ have also been organized, where children learned about the traffic while joggling the football, and using the police items, played different games. Children participatns of the school, came from several municipalities and towns : Hadžići, Pazarić, Tarčin, Ilidža, Istočna Ilidža, Istočno Sarajevo, Novo Sarajevo, Pale, Kiseljak, Doglodi and Butmir. Apart from working at the stations, different workshopsare always aorganized, as additional activity to the Open Fun Football Schools. This time, four workshops were implemented, with great results. Worshop named ‘ Fun Fans’ gathered 80 boys and girls, who were dressed in colours of two Sarajevo’s rival teams FK “Željezničar” and FK “Sarajevo”. At the workshop , children were educated about the ways of cheering for a team. Aim of the workshop was to emphasize a growing problem of huliganism at football stadiums, and therefore, the workshop leaders, simulating fights at the stadium, together with the children , concluded that cheering needs to be done differently and the aim is to cheer for the football and the beauty of the game first, and all under the motto ‘ I love my club, but I respect the opponent’. Wokshop ‘Schoolyard mediation’, was run by Mrs. Annie Johanson, leader of the SSP network from Rodovre municpality. Workshop was very interesting for children, specially beacuse, coming from different towns, they did not know each other. The jointly learned how to use dialogue to come to a solution of any conflict. Special success was the Parents workshop. Representatives of police, school, municipality and sport sectors , divided into groups, talked to the parents in a specific way. By creating a hypothetic problem ( eg. young Peter dropped out of school and he is being seen with suspicious people), each sector asked the parents : ‘If this was your child, what could we do to assits you in solving this problem?’ . Even though the workshop was planned to last an hour, the discussion went on much longer, and one of the fathers present, said that he experienced this type of dialogue for the first time, and it is conluded that activities like this can help the parents. Members of the Ministry of internal affairs of Canton Sarajevo, organized a special workshop for children, where they could meet members of the Special unit, get to know police requisites and the role of the police in their lives. School was visited by many significant guests : Mr. Christian Dons, Head of the Office of the Ministry of foreign affairs of Denmark; Mr. Todd Anderson, USA Embassy in BH representative; Mr. Svetozar Pudarić, vice-president of the Federation BH; Mr. Mustafa Demir, representative of the Federal Ministry of Sport and Culture; representatives of FA BH; Municipality Hadžići representatives and others. School showed that it is possible to have extraodrinary cooperation between all society stakeholders relevant for children and their parents, on the pitch, doing active work. Also, reactions coming from the participants confirmed that OFFS is the right medium for networks formation, because close cooperation at the pitch, and organization and implementation of additional activities, enables people to get to know each other and connect, and to uderstand each other’s needs. This type of network gives the possibility to a policemen to be a coach and a teacher, and to coaches to be cooperants to both teachers and policemen, and all togehter , they can sucessfully work for the wellfare of the children. 30 31 32 33 BAGS FOR FOOTBALLS PLASTIC CONES BIPS FOOTBALL NETS HOCKEY SET 27 28 29 UEFA CAP 24 25 WATER BOTTLE 23 26 WHISTLES JACKET 18 22 SCHOOL T SHIRT 17 PUPMS POLO T SHIRT 16 21 T SHIRT JERSEY 15 SHORTS T SHIRT HOOD 14 SOCKS LOWER TRAINER PANTS 13 19 TRAINER SUIT 12 20 SPORTS BAG BALL HABDBALL 7 11 BALL-BASKETBALL 6 KANGAROO BALL FOOTBALL ADIDAS N/FS BIH 5 10 FOOTBALL DIADORA 4 BALL VOLLEYBALL FOOTBALL TRAMONDI 3 HANGING BALL FOOTBALL NR.4 2 8 FOOTBALL NR.5 1 9 TYPE OF EQUIPMENT NR 15 150 2400 2400 15 2452 200 200 200 200 200 2852 200 200 60 60 60 2400 320 1998. 20 240 2500 2500 20 4352 350 350 350 350 350 5052 350 350 350 100 100 100 2500 950 1999. 19 228 2800 3000 19 4433 4433 355 355 355 355 355 5143 355 355 355 20 100 100 100 2000 925 2000. 16 192 1800 1800 16 3403 3418 285 285 285 285 285 3973 30 285 285 285 20 80 80 80 2200 765 2001. 16 192 1580 1625 16 3692 3692 300 300 300 300 300 4292 60 300 300 300 16 64 64 480 2122 912 2002. 15 240 1500 1530 15 4397 4350 300 300 397 397 6000 40 357 351 351 397 15 1900 1362 2003. 21 240 2100 2000 21 5338 5050 410 410 408 408 6149 50 435 410 410 408 410 100 3450 1150 2004. 20 250 2200 2200 20 4750 4750 400 400 400 400 400 6000 400 400 100 3380 1125 2005. 19 283 2825 2825 4750 4750 400 400 380 380 6200 760 380 530 200 3450 1100 2006. 21 252 2100 2100 4250 4250 340 340 753 458 445 6250 840 420 420 420 200 2760 1680 2007. 20 240 2000 2400 80 5000 500 400 1200 400 400 400 5620 800 400 400 400 200 1875 1325 2008. 18 218 1800 1932 60 4500 4500 360 360 900 394 5300 396 394 385 389 60 150 2725 400 2009. 23 242 2300 2676 5625 5750 460 480 460 460 460 4500 460 460 460 460 2300 750 2010. 15 180 1500 1860 3375 300 300 300 300 300 20 2250 375 2011. 258 3147 29405 30848 282 53513 52247 4560 5680 5888 5087 3195 67331 1336 4876 1181 1690 4574 4896 36 35 340 404 404 380 650 480 35312 13139 TOTAL CCPA OFFS BIH 2011.
